I had to replace my hose bib but did not want to solder on a new one and it was not worth it to hire a plumber to come out just for that. Here is the one I used:

I'm looking for this replacement item tomorrow, I'm having the same issues. Thanks 🙏.
Super easy fix
Thanks for this very useful video. I have exactly the same issue and had already ordered the same Shark Bite tap. My plumbing service wants $200 just to showup and "assess" the problem, and would likely charge triple the price for whatever tap they would install.
Glad it helped.
You sir, just saved me hundreds of dollars. The bib somehow broke off the copper pipe. Emergency plumbers cost $250-$375 hourly. I saw your video and you helped me!
glad it worked!
Thanks! I just change my hose bib! had no idea this shark bite thing exited, you have opened my world! LOL
glad i could help.
Really did take about 5 minutes. No surprises. Much obliged.
Also using that wire brush is a lot better than using sand paper by hand
And the paint was so thick.
Not going to lie but now I feel like I’m capable of changing one of those. Never knew how.
Regular copper fitting are cheaper but I would need the tourch, flux, and solder for one job. I'm pretty sure I could do it but it would be ugly. This was $8 and done with no leak.
@robb works fine. thanks
Next time solder a thread attachment to the end and it will make it much easier to replace bibs when they go bad. A little teflon and you're in business.
I was going to but I couldn't justify the cost of the setup for one project.
@@carlthomas4959hopefully you'll be able to get that shark bite off without cutting it because that little bit of pipe is going to get a lot smaller on you until you have to solder a cupler on.
Just stfu and watch bro 🤦♂️
@qzetu I agree solder thread attachment
Hi- helpful video-I gather the pipe coming out did not have threads? Mine is threaded but I can't get the new bibb on without there being a leak behind, even with 6 wraps of teflon tape.
at thebeginning of the vid I cut the pipe.
I installed gripwerks, now about 5 years. Need to replace because it's now leaking. Can it be taken off or take apart to replace the valve portion?
I performed the same repair today. One thing that concerns me is that the spigot spins on the pipe. As you did this repair a couple years ago, have you experienced and issues as a result of the spigot spinning?
No problems still. I think some bibs have little screw hole to afix it to the wall. Mine works fine as is. still could spin if i wanted it to though
mine has some kind of wire coming out of the ground attached to it. Do I need to turn of the electricity before I remove it?
Not an electrician but . . . No that is a ground wire and has no current. Make sure you connect it to bare copper when you reattach it.
@@carlthomas4959 I knew it was some type of ground, but did'nt know if it affected anything in the house while it was disconnected. Thanks.
Just pushing? Thank you.
you just push them on. its beautiful
How much pipe needs to be exposed for the hose bib to attach?
About an inch
About an inch. Not very much.
Just how far did you push it before it snapped into place
its like a quarter inch. You don't feel a snap or anything.
Is it still working correctly-no leaks?
Yup, no issues, works great
