First off, Pete, Hillary and family, thank you for your content. I know you say it's hard to come up with things but your doing a magnificent job. I so much enjoy all your uploads. To me your everyday life is what I'm striving to emulate. I got off the treadmill a couple of years ago. I wish I had done it earlier. Bought 60 acres of good pasture in Montana. Had our first hay harvest this past year. Building there is next along with our very own herd of cattle. We grazed a few this year for neighbors in exchange for help with hay harvest which we sold. Your inspiring me and keep me grounded. Thank you so Pete and family. I wish and pray nothing but the best for you all.

You have some skills with the front loader. I find it enjoyable with my front loader doing work. We called the local Korean grocery store today and my wife talked about our chestnuts. We took a large basket full and weighed out to 40 lbs. My wife was surprised to receive $120 for nuts. So, next year we have a plan to sell this store about 300 lbs or so. Plus small chestnut trees that are coming up in pots. We planted over 80 trees so far and yes, it takes time to grow. But, we have 5 mature trees and 4 planted 3 years ago which are full of nuts. About 25 feet high or so. Love you video as we get nutty.
LOL I was curious as to why in the world is this guy getting a buffalo with all the work he has to do. I am watching your video a little at a time and even though you and your wife are working your butts off I find watching you relaxing and stress free.

Pete, my wife and I just found your channel a few weeks ago and have been binging on your videos. We can't get enough of you teachable spirit and wonderful jokes! You've struck a chord in us like no other. I grew up on my grandparents farm and my most prized memories are of then and building houses with my grandfather on the side. I've been feeling the pull of those times heavily as of late and am in process of buying a 40 acre homestead to start farming on. We found your channel while looking for cattle tips. We love your interaction with the Dexters and have decided that is the breed for us to start with. We can't thank you enough for the inspiration you have provided to us and we can only pray that we can become as successful. With no fear of hard work, like you and your wife, I'm sure we can. Absolutely love this man's honest look at real life and how it's not all glorious and over the top exciting. Even if you never post again I've personally watched most not all of your videos. One of my favorite channels, sometimes real life isn't that exciting so who cares. Live how you do. Love how you live.
Took me back to my childhood days…we had walnuts to peel and break and pick out the meats… Mom made yummy desserts spiked with walnuts. We love your videos. You seem like a good friend.
We love watching you for your honesty….your passion and care for your animals…and your philosophy on life… We would love to be able to come to Ithaca farmers market to try your produce…. But living in England makes that difficult Keep up the good work and ignore the critics Sending love to you and your family Ian and Jennifer xxx
Hi Pete, I agree in natural farming and the way you process that manure. I admire the hard work on your farm. Those black walnuts look like yellow apples. You and Hilary do a fantastic job on the farm. I was sorry to not see a buffalo on your farm. I actually thought you were expanding. You are an American staple that we need more of. Thanks for the great video.
Hi Pete , It's nice to see that you have the equipment for doing the work that you need to do. All that I have is my John Deere lawn tractor which is handy for towing small wagons and mobile chicken coops. I'll be 79 y/o in a couple of weeks so I'm not much on pulling those things by hand any more. Perhaps the secret to your compost pile is that the new materials that you are adding are already partially aged. Cause I remember from working on a dairy farm in the Catskills that fresh manure straight from the cows and added to the manure pile can have a very heady aroma indeed. We also did not have as much organic materials in the manure either. I do most of the work on my small homestead ( 6 1/2 acres ) which usually takes me a long time. However , I am not in any kind of a race so as long as the work is eventually completed , that is the important thing. Heh , I have some simple projects that have taken me months to complete. Instead of hours or days. I'm like the turtle. I just keep plodding along and eventually I get there. Oh , and keep an eye on your nuts.
You don’t need to be sensational. I like listening to your thoughts on whatever it is you’re doing, and how you manage your small farm and your life in general. It’s honest and real. That’s all it needs to be. Thanks Pete.
I appreciate you being YOU -- I've stopped watching a few channels who are into the "Bigger & Better" escalation. Enjoy yourself, and we'll be here when you're back.
I watch your videos to hear the old machines work, and to maybe learn a few things about farm life. The Farmalls are what brought me here but the peaceful nature kept me here.
Please never change Pete! I watch your channel for your honesty and non-sensational content. Of all the farm channels on youtube that I watch you folks are the most similar to my own little farm and I find myself often thinking "what does Pete on UA-cam do in this situation"
I love the crispness in the air when fall arrives with the trees Turning colors . Being alongside Pete during his daily chores on the farm sure is a blessing .
today i learned about walnuts and appearantly they make a machine that cracks them, thats why many of us watch your channel Pete. you teach we learn ,"keep pushing that rope"
Keep the "normal" every day videos! Thats what brought me here and those are the ones that keep me around. Many times, in the midle of a very stressfull day they are a window to the peace of aclive style so familiar an calming to me. Thanks for all the sharing and all those momemts.
Finding a peace and true joy of what you do in life is often realized to late by many. Always going for bigger and better, when what's right in front of them could be their true happiness! We love your channel and the simplicity it brings. Thank you!
Hey Pete, not sure if you heard this one but maybe one you can add to your dad jokes. My Friend went bald years ago but still carries around an old comb with him.... He just can't part with it!
Hey Pete! Great video. No rush on coming back. Your upcoming break is well deserved. Fun to watch the walnut process, and those Dad jokes were top notch! It's a pleasure to watch your everyday farm life.
Some of these comments hit the nail on the head. My wife and I come here specifically because it’s real and not sensational. I grew up working on a dairy and her and I are hoping to get land once she’s done college. These little videos help feed the urge while I can’t do it myself. Thank you Pete.
I will miss y'all enjoy the mental break We have two Dextur and one in the over due in June You are so enjoyable watch with a great knowledge Come back soon Kim
What you’re doing on UA-cam is amazing and I have never once thought a video was boring ever. Even though it’s a lot of the same stuff everyday it’s still different as well. It’s nice to just spend a little time on the farm each day.
One of the main reasons I watch your channel is because you don’t play those clickbait games. Love your Dad jokes and humor. Thank you so much for all the work you put into creating these daily videos. Much love to you and Hillary from Dallas TX 👋🏼🥰
pete keep doing what you do, I don't want anything but to relive my youth by watching you and your farming adventures. It is just what we need these days. At least it is what I need these days
Pete, I love your channel and watch every video. I appreciate your view on life and that you're a farmer who has a UA-cam channel instead of being a UA-camr with a farm. I love the honest look into farm life and see you as an inspiration to my future farm. Thank you so much for letting us all be a part of the special place Just A Few Acres is.
The sensationalized channels are the ones I completely avoid......Keep doing what you are doing they way you've done it. No need to top your success because you are real and that's what I relate to. I'm willing to bet most people with a brain feel the same way .
Pete, we(my family) love your shows. At the same time we totally understand taking or break or stopping something altogether. We all quit Facebook/social media over a year ago. And our lives have not suffered one second from dropping it. You have your goals for the farm and your family. If that doesn’t involve UA-cam or all the negative comments or safety sams.... then so be it. It’s your life and we have been lucky you shared a part of it with us. Do what’s right for you and your family. And Have a great time doing it!!!
Honestly Pete. These videos of daily farm life are my favorites. Don't spend too much psychic energy trying to figure out what we want to see and certainly not what UA-cam tells you we want to see. Mostly we just want to see you kicking around the farm, talking to the cows, teasing the pigs and telling dorky jokes. Thanks for another fun video and enjoy the short break!
I love your channel! After working all day it's nice to sit and watch a sane person. Love you, and your wifes, work ethic and positive approach to everything. It's just incredibly relaxing. Thank you.
You're the real deal and I thoroughly enjoy your bringing us along on your daily chores. Your videos remind of the two weeks that I spent with my Uncle Ed when I was 6. He had about 15 acres of New Jersey bottomland where he grew corn and had chickens and an egg route while also working as an industrial electrician. The state took his land for a park that they never built but I never forgot the thrill of "driving" a tractor with my Uncle. BTW only a farmer would apologize for taking a day or two off from work! I'm glad that you're not a slave to the UA-cam treadmill. Thanks for making these videos!
I like this channel because you keep it "real" representing the small average farmer. I used to work on a 100 acre farm in the past and I remember doing thing manually and not having automated equipment. Even loading manure unto the spreader was done maually. Today I think about moments on the farm and this site brings me closer to my memories. Thanks!
Having been a subscriber for some time, I still enjoy your videos. Farm life is not glamorous but it is vital. It is good honest work. Keep up the good work.
I am an 82-year old farmer farmer's wife originate from Minnesota now living in Colorado I like your Simplicity of living and I just enjoy it so Just Keep On Keepin On 🧡 👍 😃
I just recently found your channel and I am gradually watching your past ones catching up. I really enjoy all you do as it reminds me of growing up on the farm. Hope I never miss an episode it's always something going on down on the farm that's interesting. We had most the same as you with exception of 5 Holstein milk cows and our beef herd was 50 cows that was Hereford with a quarter Holstein mix. The Holstein in the breeding improved the milk production making stronger and healthier calves.
Love your channel and homesteady as well, they got a camel because they had a child with severe allergy issues so mother and child were on an extremely restricted diet and discovered camel milk is beneficial to those who are unable to drink other kinds of milk. So not just a random clickbait animal though I can see why you would think that! They’re also not actual farmers they are homesteaders who provide for themselves other than I think one of their kids sells eggs from a farm fridge. Some people don’t see the difference between the two though, you’re running a business and I appreciate your realistic and down to earth videos on farm life.
I would like to say that I watch your youtube like I watched this old house when I was a kid. I don't ever plan on remodeling an old house but I do plan on starting a small farm and I love to see the no drama no big toy approach that you use. Keep it up and just do you. All the dad jokes and dirty nuts.
I love the fact that your vidoe's are simple and nondramatic and about real life without the hype and sensationalism that fuels entertainment demands and tinsel "fakeism", if that is a word. The simple life, the everyday living of what's real and solid and peaceful... this is what draws people like me to your channel. There are more of us than you know. There are more of us than UA-cam knows. Please be encouraged to keep doing what you do to show the world what life is really all about. What you have done is what so many dream of doing that can't. You are a God-send. A breath of fresh air. A happy place to visit. A walk down memory lane. A pleasure to watch and imagine. A wonderful person to get to know. Thank you for that. You and your family. And your happy animals. They are a blessing to be a part of, even if just through a camera's eye. You have found a way to share something rare and beautiful. The world needs that. You don't need click bait. Not at all. You are the kind of person who will never need click bait.
It’s the daily farm life that interests me. It is totally different from my daily life and is therefore interesting. I’m not much interested in why you do what you do. I just want to watch you do it. 😀
As a long time watcher of your channel, I thought “ yep Pete’s gone mad 😂” my son and I watch every episode and love them all. Even my 7 year old daughter likes them and it always makes great congratulations around the dinner table.
Pete, I could smell this whole video! I could smell the black walnuts as you"processed" them. I remember how easily they stained my shirts and pants if I wasn't careful. How my mom complained about getting those stains out, but also the taste and smell of her cookies and breads she made with them. I could also smell the manure, maybe it's the neighbors feedlot? I actually enjoy cleaning out my goat shelters by myself. I often have help from the neighbors, but doing it myself is kinda relaxing. I have done it with a wheel barrow and a pitchfork, but nowadays I use my small loader tractor. Don't care what anyone else thinks, this video stinks....in a good way! Looking forward to more life on the farm.
Yeppers, got sucked in by that click bait many times. I don’t mind watching you shovel poop. Lol Your loyal subs will watch regardless. A bunch of us either grew up on a farm, wishing we had a farm, or are farming At whatever level. Love your channel🥰
My kids and I love to watch your channel. You are the James Taylor of farming videos on UA-cam. Your channel is pleasant, calm, your demeanor exudes contentment. Those are all things we need more of. Thank you for sharing with us.
Hey Pete, I’m Chad. It is a joy to watch your videos. I am not one to sit and watch a 10-20 minute UA-cam video about what to some may seem mundane tasks or daily vlogs or what have you… I am a slave to quick gratification in my entertainment. Your videos are a centering piece of my day and have broken me of my quick gratification habits. After a typical day at work, your videos allow me to get back to where my wife and I really hope to be one day, on land we’re proud to call our own, with a farm that supports my us. Thank you for YOUR support and for having fun in all your videos. I speak for many of us here when I say your UA-cam breaks are well earned.
You’ve talked about expansion when it comes to the farm, and I think your ideas could be applied to most business including UA-cam. I’ve noticed other people that I enjoy watching, who put out consistent content, usually level off in subscribers and views, but then stay real steady. I guess if you get to that point you’ll have to decide if it’s worth the work that you put into it. Either way, I’ll be watching. I don’t even notice the titles - just hit play. Thank you
You had me worried for a minute, I thought you were going to say you were leaving for good. I don't come to UA-cam for excitement or drama, I'm here to watch interesting people like you, living on a farm and some days all you show is your cows in the pasture eating grass. That's relaxing and very enjoyable to me. It puts me there for a brief moment, and then I'm back on the farm I grew up on when I was a kid. Don't think for one minute we take you for granted. It's good you're taking a break from UA-cam but rest assured, we will be here when you're back in a couple of weeks.
When I seen the title of the video, my first thought was that you were trying to get more views by doing something extreme. I was happy to see the exact opposite! I liked the point you made with it. I like your channel because it is exactly what you say it is, you aren’t out to get more views no matter what. I thoroughly enjoy your channel and I’m glad to hear you reaffirm you won’t be changing it for extra views. Enjoy your break!

One of my favorite channels, sometimes real life isn't that exciting so who cares. Live how you do. Love how you live.
Honest he just clickbated
Is Ok we know 👍🏼 we love to see you working on the farm👍🏼
As for me, I know what it's like on a farm, you keep doing what you do and I'll keep watching you videos
Took me back to my childhood days…we had walnuts to peel and break and pick out the meats…
Mom made yummy desserts spiked with walnuts.
We love your videos. You seem like a good friend.
I love black walnuts in my fruitcake.
We love watching you for your honesty….your passion and care for your animals…and your philosophy on life…
We would love to be able to come to Ithaca farmers market to try your produce…. But living in England makes that difficult
Keep up the good work and ignore the critics
Sending love to you and your family
Ian and Jennifer xxx
Hi Pete, I agree in natural farming and the way you process that manure. I admire the hard work on your farm. Those black walnuts look like yellow apples. You and Hilary do a fantastic job on the farm. I was sorry to not see a buffalo on your farm. I actually thought you were expanding. You are an American staple that we need more of. Thanks for the great video.
Hi Pete ,
It's nice to see that you have the equipment for doing the work that you need to do.
You don’t need clickbait for us, we know there is always going to be some nuggets of treasure in your videos. Enjoy your little break!
I find all these videos good to watch always viewing when I got time
I appreciate you being YOU -- I've stopped watching a few channels who are into the "Bigger & Better" escalation.
Thanks for keeping it real. Don’t fix it if it ain’t broke. We appreciate your honesty and sincerity. Thank you from an American in the Mekong delta.
I watch every video and would love to do what you do everyday. You are blessed. Godbless you and your famliy
Finding a peace and true joy of what you do in life is often realized to late by many. Always going for bigger and better, when what's right in front of them could be their true happiness! We love your channel and the simplicity it brings. Thank you!
Sensational video! Love your everyday videos.
Hey Pete, not sure if you heard this one but maybe one you can add to your dad jokes.
My Friend went bald years ago but still carries around an old comb with him.... He just can't part with it!
Thanks Pete!!! I appreciate the real farm videos!!
I love each and everyone of these videos you’re a good guy for these videos making them
I will miss y'all enjoy the mental break We have two Dextur and one in the over due in June
You are so enjoyable watch with a great knowledge Come back soon Kim
What you’re doing on UA-cam is amazing and I have never once thought a video was boring ever. Even though it’s a lot of the same stuff everyday it’s still different as well. It’s nice to just spend a little time on the farm each day.
One of the main reasons I watch your channel is because you don’t play those clickbait games. Love your Dad jokes and humor. Thank you so much for all the work you put into creating these daily videos. Much love to you and Hillary from Dallas TX 👋🏼🥰
I don't watch for the farming, I tune in for the therapy. Cheers Kelly
pete keep doing what you do, I don't want anything but to relive my youth by watching you and your farming adventures.
Well done and we’ll said! I’ve never watched a boring video on your channel. Even the simplest things are made interesting by your wit and wisdom!
The sensationalized channels are the ones I completely avoid......Keep doing what you are doing they way you've done it. No need to top your success because you are real and that's what I relate to. I'm willing to bet most people with a brain feel the same way .
Which channels you avoid
Keeping it real ,is the reason I watch ,after years of over the top TV, your channel is refreshing. Thanks for the video.
Bigger than life drives me away from channels, I enjoy your life and content on the farm, not to big but true to life. Don’t change…….
What a great comment Ava! You made my day; thank you.
It’s the daily farm life that interests me. It is totally different from my daily life and is therefore interesting. I’m not much interested in why you do what you do. I just want to watch you do it. 😀
Don't change a thing, your channel is successful not because of what you do but because of who you are!
As a long time watcher of your channel, I thought “ yep Pete’s gone mad 😂” my son and I watch every episode and love them all. Even my 7 year old daughter likes them and it always makes great congratulations around the dinner table.
I enjoy everyday farming year round!
Lol
Your loyal subs will watch regardless. A bunch of us either grew up on a farm, wishing we had a farm, or are farming
At whatever level. Love your channel🥰
The dad joke puns are always a hit with me, just keep them coming
My kids and I love to watch your channel. You are the James Taylor of farming videos on UA-cam. Your channel is pleasant, calm, your demeanor exudes contentment. Those are all things we need more of. Thank you for sharing with us.
let’s play a game of how many times did pete say nuts
Every time Pete says 'nuts', toss a cow patty on the pile. Have that barn cleaned in no time. :)
Honestly, I'd watch a video of just the camera mounted on the old tractors. I love the sound of them! Just daily stuff on the farm is why I watch.
Keep with your values Pete! I really enjoy your channel and watch just about every video.
