- After the crazy success of my last fact video, many of you wanted to see another of these based on the Splatoon 3 Direct! Not so fun fact: The reason why Harmony's Goldfish is black is because it is dying of neglect.

It's a clownfish. And they can come in black naturally.

- The clownfish in Harmony's hair is actually extremely sickly due to older lore.
- If you log in to the trial version now, you can see that the plaza is slowly changing in preparation for Splatfest. It's now dusk, lights are coming on, and festival booths are being set up. It's also been announced that you can change your name from "Player" after your first battle.
- In the Hero Mode trailer, the reflection in Octavio's glasses looks kinda like the plaza (asphalt, railings), so I wonder if the fight gets taken to the massive player hub at some point?
- Lil Buddy can be found in a bunch of different places in the plaza, seeming to spawn in a random place each time you load in. It's fun trying to find him, as he is very...well, lil.
- Inklings have *had* touchscreen phones for two games now but willingly regressed to flip phones. Why. Just why.
- THERE IS LITERALLY AN INKLING APPLE STORE IN THE PLAZA WITH TOUCH SCREEN PHONES ON DISPLAY SERIOUSLY WHY DO THEY USE FLIP PHONES!!! That being said though, it seems to play a jingle or radio show with a voice speaking that sounds a bit like Pearl.
- You can find an edition of the Corocoro manga resting on some boxes by a porta-potty in the plaza with the character Gloves on the cover.
- Although hairstyles and pants styles are no longer gender-locked, it seems certain eyebrows are.

In the plaza there is also a store that seems to sell Squid Sister figurines
I believe it would make sense for the fight to be taken to the player hub, because Splatsville is so huge! I was walking around the plaza yesterday and just thinking to myself, "This hub world is closer to the size of a level than to a hub...."
All the stairs and upper areas that don't seem to serve a point other than making the place feel huge might serve the purpose of getting higher ground during a fight!
I feel like the reason they use flip phones could be a reference to trends online where people will willingly use older technology for an aesthetic, like when people started using poloroid cameras and walkmans, it's just a very common type of trend so it wouldn't be a stretch to say the inklings and octolings would have similar trends

Fun fact: in ammo knights, you can see two new types of stringers

5:02 the black squid and octo plushies in the background are also a real product that is sold at Nintendo Tokyo, from the Splatoon Crossing collection

The first one was amazing, this one will definitely be good.
This game is aesthetically a lot closer to Splatoon 1 which I'm really happy about. Splatoon 2 was a good game, but it didn't really have the feeling of Splatoon 1 and lost some of its oomph. Splatoon 3 appears to have a similar feeling and aesthetic to Splatoon 1 while still having a unique feeling to it which I really adore.

Really glad that Shark special gets invincibility! I heard it being compared to "horizontal Splashdown" and I was really skeptical but now I think I'll like it! I was the annoying Splashdown Main type back in S2 lol (even before I beat Inner Agent 3) I also really liked using Tenta Missiles so I'm quite glad that's returning, although I know I'm in the minority on that. I really liked using spammable specials that could both harass and area-deny, since it meant my opponents were either always in a movement frenzy that made them have to play more defensively, or just stay away from me in general, letting me take objectives and hold them for longer even while outnumbered. Both situations apply to both specials lol.
I got from C- clear up to S in Zones and Tower by Splash Jumping. Sooooo many quads by doing that to the tower. (again, didn't pick this up from IA3, and actually used it less after beating her - I actually learned it from a "did you know" sort of video, even before encountering community memes about it)

It will definitely be interesting having to go against deep cut in the story if that's what happens
Just wanna add that the Splatlands are probably based off of Nevada, as Las Vegas has a replica of the Eiffel Tower, which makes sense as Tokyo Tower (which is what inkopolis tower is based off of) is also heavily inspired by the Eiffel Tower, on top of the geography of the Splatlands looking very similar to the Mojave Desert. The train seen in the beginning after the character creator also appears to use a traditional American Knuckle Coupler system. The locomotive appears to be based on a Russian or Chinese design, but that’s up for debate. The green supports for the suspended Monorail in Splatsville also resembles those seen in Germany, although the train is above the tracks and not below them.
I have seen all the trailers and art. Cap3 has had: blue, green, orange, yellow(might be orange with different lighting), and magenta eyes. I’m glad they went with green, though.

Bonus fact: it was noticed in sheldons shop to have an ACTUAL WORLD MAP for splatoon which is huge
In the splatoon 1 direct, they don't even bother hiding the squid sisters, you see them and their siluhouettes multiple times before they are announced. In the Splatoon 2 direct, they briefly show the off the hook area while entering the shoal, but they go out of their way to make sure that pearl isn't on her beanbag so you can't see her (I'm not kidding there is an empty beanbag). In the splatoon 3 direct, they don't show off as much of the lobby. Also the lobby is a whole lot bigger so it wasn't much of an issue

Interesting fact: the final fest of Splatoon 2 determined Splatoon 3's entire theme (proved by the anarchy battles and the anarchy splat casts names and because the entire place shown looks like something chaotic happened)

Specifically, they resemble Ranchu goldfish. This breed of goldfish is one of the oldest and it originated from Japan!
I immediately recognized the fish lady as an oranda goldfish! Thought it was an interesting choice. Incredibly JAZZED for the release and i cant wait for friday! I have high hopes for single player and any bonus content as well because i LOVED octo expansion in splatoon 2!
