lots of cool guitar riffs on the album. i really enjoy the the Unplugged CD that totally rocks!!
one of my favorites, so under rated.
This is in my top 2 I love this album! I remember hearing Rain for the first time at the 1996 Cleveland KISS expo when Eric was there. I had to have it! To this day Rain is my (Rob) favorite KISS tune. Still have the boot to this day
I have a vinyl bootleg copy of this from 1996 with the original title Head. Had a cool cover and i think they were demos.
It was certainly left field for KISS when I first heard Carnival. A bit luke warm for me on this album...... ❤
Psycho Circus single was the highest charting single on the rock charts - number 1
Wish they would have played a track from this on tour. Maybe jungle?
Its such an anomaly that I couldnt see any track being a part of the live set, especially in the post-reunion period. It just "exists" lol
This is my favorite non makeup album & I absolutely hate grunge...
It took me a few listens to get used to the heavier sound and the dark over all feel of the album. Gene absolutely kills it on bass on this album. I ended up loving it but man, what a cheap looking cover. There wasnt any thought into marketing for this album.
Hate , Jungle and Master And Slave are all very good. The rest of the album is mixed but it's better than Revenge.
Revenge is a classic, carnival of souls the final sessions is one of their worst haha.
@@iancocks9408 Revenge is the most overrated album in the KISS catalogue. Unholy is awesome , Domino is good and I like Carr Jam 1981 but the rest contains a lot of filler.
The lyrics were just as dark on Creatures. And most of Lick It Up.
This album would have been better received if they would have recorded at the time of grunge 91-93
Definitely way past the grunge prime to do an album like this
I was leaning away from KISS after the loss of Eric - KISS lost me by then.
I dont like the album,Psycho circus is a great album.
Me either. It’s their worst album. Boring. Hot In The Shade is way better. The singles alone from that album are way better than anything on this.
Psycho circus is a big improvement on this one.

The songs are fine, but Kiss should have laid off the grunge style. A fine, but not great album.
