David ! I want to thank you for the time you take to teach and share your knowledge to your fans ! Seriously! I'm currently in the process of getting my incnd1 and studying and also watching your ccent packet tracer labs on udemey. The only struggle so far is subnetting , I can't seem to grasp it . Any advice?
Subnetting kicked my butt for about 6 years. I intentionally avoided really learning it because it just seemed so confusing. I even earned a Net+, Sec+, and a MCSA in Server 2016 without really learning it. And I earned them clean, no dumps. Then I studied for the CCNA and I decided I was sick on not understanding it, and I finally learned subnetting. I would say that if you study, like really truly study and focus, subnetting, it will click. Right it all out, do the exercises on paper. Learn the formulas for figuring out how many hosts are available in a particular subnet. Learn the tricks for figuring out the first and last IP within a subnet. It takes time, but it's just like math. It's confusing for a long time, then it just clicks and you get it. Once I resolved to finally learning it, I was able to learn it. And on the CCNA, there's no scratch paper or whiteboard. You have to do all subnetting in your head!
Hey, David, how are you? First of all, thank you for the video series. It's amazing and really helpful. It helped me a lot to better understand the nuts and bolts of GNS3 and better design my lab environment. I want to take this opportunity and ask you if you heard about the QT GUI issues that some macOS users are having. All of a sudden we can't drag and drop devices into the topology area anymore. I've searched on the user's forum a looks like other folks have the same issue, but we don't have a root cause or fix for this.
