    OMG that big sample is probably museum quality, and it haves a lot of silver. You can cut it into a slabs and polish it on lapidary polisher, or dissolve rocks and calcite in acid. Try to create biggest slab, or dissolve almost all calcite - it will be glorious native silver sample.

    • @meMiner
      @meMiner  4 роки тому +2

      It would be a cool rock to dissolve but I think the best approach is slicing.

    Hello again, I meant to ask you, do you use google maps or any specific map "software" when looking at locations or deciding where to do prospecting? I ask as google maps are so limited and do not show a lot of detail for Canada. They miss a lot of streams, terrain, back roads/dirt roads and such. Wondering if there is a Canadian map site that shows more details. Thank you in advance.

    • @meMiner
      @meMiner  4 роки тому

      I like Google Earth and to layer overtop other maps if available. Still, there are places (like the one's I want detail) which are either old, cloud covered or not detailed enough to zoom. Frustrating for sure.

    • @meMiner
      @meMiner  4 роки тому +2

      Size seems to matter. Also, there are other minerals in these rocks which tend to confuse the detector. For example. pure cobalt is usually "1". Get a rock with both cobalt and silver, then it will ring lower than pure silver.

    Hey mister - I forgot my razor again,
    You have got snow on the ground, whats all that about.
    Well two lucky dogs, Daisy is lucky she has a great and caring owner and you finding all that booty, makes me envious.
    Outstanding find with that big rock, I have a saw that can handle that, send it over for me and I will cut it into slabs.
    Stay warm Mister.

      I love the dog, she is funny and just a nice dog, it would be great meeting her, I can picture her getting out of the cab, backpack on with food and toys, and a large heavy brown paper package secured with rope hanging from her mouth that she keeps putting down like a tourist with a case full of clothes he can barely lift.

      @@symonrocks9847 Poor dog would have to ride a crate in the belly of the plane. She would not be happy there. On a serious note, I really wanted to take her to BC when I was gold prospecting. It would be too long a trip and I couldn't do that to her. If I decide to drive (70 hours straight), she would be there. ;-)

      I wouldn't put any animal through that, not nice and extremely scarey when they don't understand.
      70 hours is a long time, not just long but more than a vehicle should be doing in one go, in my younger days I Drove in an army vehicle for 72 hours and trust me when I say it's easy seeing what is not there.
      B.C would have been a great adventure and we might have even found some gold.
