    Polyphia as a group are some of the most skilled and talented musicians around right now. They make music for hardcore music nerds that non music nerds can enjoy

    You stumbled upon basically the best collective of musicians out there today. Tim Henson is arguably the best guitarist in the world today. This guy has made more great guitar players contemplate quitting the instrument than anyone else ever lol. Clay, the drummers, interdependence and flow is on par with the best in the world as well. It's unmatched musicianship and they continue to get better which is insane

    If you want more songs from Polyphia, here's a couple of their most popular tracks: G.O.A.T., O.D, 40oz, Yas. Chon is also a really great band that's also instrumental. They have a live AudioTree video that's really great for introducing what their sound.

    They’re guitars, but they’re playing acoustic guitars on nylon strings. Which makes it even more insane, in terms of skill. But you’re right, a few years back they realized how well the hip-hop fusion stuff works.. and really leaned in to it.
    This track in particular is like… Latin-jazz-hip hop fusion. Almost a bossa nova sound; but polyphia is on another level.

    Tim Henson, the lead guitarist, uses trap beats as starting points for his song development. Both guitarists and the bassist utilize guitar picking while simultaneously finger picking with the middle, ring, and pinky. Their ability to do that and write creative licks and hooks in their songs gives them a truly unique sound. There's really nobody out there writing songs like Tim. He'll go down in the books a generation or two from now.

    in this style of guitar if you want more I would look into: Chon, Covet, and Animals as Leaders. Covet is just gorgeous, Chon is prog, and Animals as leaders is djent metal. But all of their guitarists are of the same leaf.

    Woah is right. They have like Acoustic/Electric combination with the guitars idk what these things they're playing even are like a hybrid plus the pacing of the song via the drums and the bass which sound like opposites one is busy one is slow and that has to be intentional because these guys are talented. Idk what's going on here buts it's great and I love your guys reactions keep it up!

      Maybe cause they're not actual musicians and don't know what they're hearing and don't care enough to appreciate it or analyze it.

    • @fburon_
      @fburon_ Рік тому +5

      @@finn452 That is a complete mistake, a FIRST reaction must be without pauses, you must enjoy the piece before analyzing it, then you can repeat it making the corresponding pauses. For both, musicians and non-musicians

    • @finn452
      @finn452 Рік тому +1

      @@fburon_ It's like not a mistake though. Actual musicians will take what they see in the moment, appreciate it, analyze it, and then after they analyzed it they can have a deeper understanding of what they're actually fucking listening to in the song so they understand. When you have key centers, chord progressions, techniques, the mix of the song and instruments, patterns that you recognize in the beginning can be shown in the rest of the song usually, so you can take in what you're listening to more intently. I take it you know nothing about music which is why you sound delusional, but it's okay we can all talk about tings that when we don't even know what we're saying.

    • @atari_hmb
      @atari_hmb Рік тому

      @@finn452 They actually do recognize they're talented. Sure they may not be musicians, and no we cannot assert everyone's analysis will be the same, its a bit fallacious to do so.
      Also other channels want to extend the video for viewer ship watch time (despite not monetizing).
      One of our local bands I showed this song, and he listened to it in one take, but he was pointing out what he heard during the play especially after since he was a guitarist and vocalist. Not saying you're wrong, but it's superfluous to call someone delusional because of their preferred method of analyzing music.
