TLDR 1. No vape holders. 2. Can't blast my dubstep so loud my vision blurs. 3. Not 90s enough for my hair style. 4.Can only angle the wheels in 15 degrees. Need that stance, bro. 5. Not enough Vtec.
Nailed it. It's a nice car but he wants the ex on an lx budget. If only he researched a little more before he spent the hard earned money his parents earned to buy him this car.
Got the 2018 Accord 2.0T Sport. Sound system isn't the best but it is still great. Volume pushes to 40 but I never go above 30 as its too loud. So I don't hear any distortion. Purchased songs versus ripped songs perform MUCH better. Never heard the swishing sound but turbo actually sounds incredible. The car does not feel as fast as my old 3.5L V6 BUT when I do the math and count my 0-100, the results prove me wrong. I was driving an older Toyota Avalon 3.5 V6. I was getting 0-100 in like 8.5 seconds. Mind you its older, heavier etc. But I'm pushing 0-100 6 seconds flat. One thing I don't like is the amount of wheel spinout. Definitely reduces how quickly I am able to accelerate from flat. However, lets not forget, this isn't a true sports car. For what I paid, I can truly say, I am very happy. Stop wanting M3 performance from your new accord. Its awesome that you got a new car, congrats about that! But don't forget, you got an awesome reliable car with some great features. Love it for that!
i agree about the sound system, rattling noise and also when my accord sites outside in the worm weather the dashboard ( specially above the string wheel )sounds like some one pilling the velcro straps. i did take it to Honda dealer ship where i got the car from and they could not able to figure it out where this noise is coming from.
I agree with you on the three points interior noise and turbo lag. The car struggles on city driving, once it gets above 45 it’s fine but very noticeable 0-45
Honda is well know for road noise! As if you guys haven' t own a Honda before? The stereo part, I agree. My nephew 2006 Accord LX has better sound system then my 2015 Accord.
I have owned/driven Honda automobiles for over 25 years. I will only drive a Honda. I am very loyal to brand. Picked up a 2018 Accord LX about a month ago. Not a big fan of the exterior styling, particularly the rear of the car, but my LX is possibly the smoothest, most comfortable Honda I have owned. No complaints thus far with the driving characteristics of the car. My only complaint is that the information screen (radio) on the US version of the LX is NOT a touch screen. It does nothing except display the radio station, adjust settings and display a clock. From what I understand, the Sport and Touring models comes with touch screens and Apple car play but not the LX model. This seems like a cheap out on Honda's part. I can't imagine that the price difference between the two systems are that much. 50 bucks maybe? Touch screen should standard on all models.
I drove a 2018 for 2 full weeks while my 2017 Honda Accord exl was in the shop and I can say from driving both for extended time is the new Honda does have noticeable more lag than my 2017!
I am fortunate to own a 2016 Honda Accord V6 Touring coupe. Seeing these reveiws I am so glad I have the older V6 model rather than the new 2 litre 4 cylinder.
Reason why there’s such a noticeable lag, has to do with the cvt transmission as well. The lag isn’t as bad on the 2.0t with the 8speed automatic transmission
So I have a 2018 Accord Touring 2.0t and it has a 450 watt sound system and it's really good! Sounds just as good or better than my sisters 2016 BMW 320i! If you care that much upgrade to the EX-L for premium sound!
I have a 2018 EX-L with a 2.0t it also has the 450 watt sound system. The clarity is excellent until you get above 30 on the volume control, then distortion sets in. I am really not complaining, just stating the facts.....
I have the 2018 2.0t and I definitely have to agree with you about the sound system. It is garbage in my opinion and is the first thing Im gonna change also.
any recommendations for the terrible seats? I know you don't have a LX like me. It didn't bother me on a 10min test drive.. but 20-30-45mins... terrible. painful. ruins the whole experience for me.
Not mentioned here but on the Honda forum. The hood is very thin and not properly supported. It buffets in the wind and flashes the sun reflection in your eyes. This is common to all 2018 Accords. If you want power, get the 2.0 and do the Hondata ECU flash. You get a huge improvement in torque and up to 50 more horsepower.
2017 looks better imo. I hate how the new civics and accords look like hatch backs. The 18 accord looks like a stretched out hatchback version of the civic. 2017 had a WAY better shape and the lights in the back are nice looking only thing I give the 1up to the 18 is the interior. I feel bad for ppl who buy touring models because they spend so much more for minimal improvements.
I didn't like the new 2018 model either until I saw it in person. I had the 2016 which is the same as 2017 but the new one is better looking in person.
Tealtown 408 I agree with you, now I know, I'm not the only one who thinks the new honda accord look like a civic yes bigger, the 2017 looks way better, real lights on 2018 are yes plain ugly. This yes my opinion the new Toyota camry looks way better.
I had a 2015 accord and I hated it. I actually think the new accord looks great in person. It reminds me of a samurai from the front, and has good body lines. Plus I love the led headlights. If I bought one I’d go for the 2.0T. The 1.5T probably feels like it has a ton of turbo lag because of the cvt transmission. That was my biggest pet peeve with my 2015. It had absolutely no jump off the line and felt sluggish no matter how fast I was going. Cvt transmissions are the worst.
It's a fastback design, following the Euro brands like Audi's A7 or BMW's 440GC. I think you need glasses tbh, the new Accord is very sleek, low and long. The 2017 looks absolutely ancient when sat next to the 2018.
The stereo in my 2018 Ridgeline is total crap. I didn't try it when I test drove it. Honestly the AM radio in a 67 mustang sounds better. Honda cuts corners in the oddest places now. My fault live and learn.
Gas Swish: I heard my gas swish around in the tank on my 2004 Accord EX-L, so that's not new. Next: Rattle: I had a rattle in my dash towards the driver's door - took me MONTHS to isolate it. It's a flimsy piece of plastic in the driver's foot well - towards the gas pedal. I stuffed a folded up paper towel in there - no more rattle. Still, disappointing that I had to do this to a new car - and a Honda no less! I wasn't comfortable taking the car to the dealership and letting them tear down the dash to locate the rattle... Anyone else's parking sensors go crazy while sitting at a stop light with other cars around? Waiting for a firmware update to come out to address that... You're the ONLY UA-cam video that I've found on how to change the engine oil. THANK YOU!
I own the touring 2.0 and the only issue I have is. The slight road noise but not the worst I’ve heard, the speakers I think are great, the touring 2.0 is def worth the few extra thousand
I’ve owned the 2018 Accord Sport 1.5T for almost 6 months now and I just want to say I haven’t experienced or agree with a SINGLE one of your complaints! I also already have 6,600 miles on it so I’ve definitely put some mileage on it.
I own 2.0T sport and the turbo lag is felt but not any worse than expected. I think the hire torque ratio makes all the difference. I agree with the sound system and I am also getting noise on the interior. More than I would like sometimes but I wanted the 19” with a lower profiles for the look so I will take the good with the bad.
You are right i road tested the new accord and the interior doesn't have the quantity that honda used before sound system terrible, wind leaks all the way around i told that to the sales person at the dealer ship
It's a family sedan you should gave bought the 2.0. I drove the 2.0 and that convinced me to spend the extra for the bigger engine. Gas penalty is not that much.
Your honestly missing out without that 2.0T. I drive a 2014 v6 but my passat 2.0T is a beast! I drove the new 2.0T and it definitely feels faster than the v6. Only bad thing is the turbo reliability of your keeping it for life...
Millions of people in other countries can't even afford to buy a used car. Some Americans spend time to make videos for UA-cam about all the things they hate about their shiny brand new cars, such as the size, number, or location of the cupholders, and other similar essential things of life...
I am considering the Hybrid of this machine - coming from a 2010 German made Passat....I hope it doesn't disappoint. I am not too picky....but want reliability, MPG and interior comfort. I hope the seats are OK for longer drives!
I really want to like the new accord, but I just cant get past the rear end styling. Sad to hear the stereo is pathetic, I was more than impressed with the bose system in my 06 accord, I guess they went down hill since then.
I have the 2.0 Sport AT. Can’t agree with much on your list, except for road noise. But with low profile tires, I’d expect as much. Especially on concrete roads. The stereo isn’t anything special, but it’s not horrible. I turned up the bass level and it made the sound rich enough for casual listening. You should have noticed the audio quality before you purchased; I did. The car is overhyped, and the shape isn’t for everyone, but it’s a great value for everything included for the price. I hope you can enjoy your Accord even with these 5 shortcomings
Love my 2012 civic. One thing, the driver's side mirror doesn't swing out enough. Blind spot. It swings IN more than enough. Maybe they can "center" mirror in the gears? I had to stick a Spot mirror on it.
Thanks for your video. I’m planning to buy Honda Accord 1.5 this month. Would you recommend me to buy it? I just want to hear your opinion and experience about Accord. Thank you!
I love the accord. Absolutely would recommend buying it. I just wanted to use this video to point out its flaws. Watch my other video where I talk about what I love.
What trim level do you have? I have a 14 EX-L and like it but am thinking about a Touring 2.0 next year after I see how the new version fared this year.
I really did enjoy the video! Just wanted an idea if some of the negatives and if they might be an issue with another trim line. A silly thing I don't like about my car is the arm rest on the door, it doesn't quite allow me to rest my arm while driving along the highway, aren't we so picky? LOL
Most of the "turbo lag" is because of the cvt. Cvts don't have that initial throttle response like the manual or the 10 speed auto. Last gen with the 2.4 had that lag even though it was naturally aspirated
I have 2.0 sport I have no complaints on sound system. I hate how the lane control won't shut off for me. I hate when it jerks itself when I don't use blinkers. Also it isn't always useful for its application it doesn't work half the time. Also if u wanted to have door open and drive like to check if u parking straight it will instantly put the car in park and not let u move
It seems you don't know how to drive correctly or responsibly. You're one of those idiots who don't use you turn signals when switching lanes. Stop driving your car if you don't know how to park straight without opening your door, fool.
My 2018 Camry sound system is really nice... Always been surprised by how good Toyotas stock systems are. Very balanced and crisp. Road noise is non existent. Even on my sport trim. Hearing gas is... Really weird. No turbolag is what I love about Toyotas engines. Just press and go. You might need a tune. Will say the Camry interior is about the same. It's sportier (bucket seats stabdard and stuff) but vibrations and noise happen in the Camry too. Had some parts replaced and tightened at the dealer for free though. Yep...been waiting since September last year to even get hands in trunk mats for my 2018 Camry. Love your honesty.
Had the ML system in my 2013 GS350 and it was exceptional, so I agree Toyota makes some good audio systems. I disagree about the v6 though. The 2.0t Accord with the 10-speed is faster than your Camry and that's just a fact. 0-60 in 5.5 sec and a 1/4 mile trap speed of over 100 mph; those are near-sports car numbers. The "lag" hes whining about is because he has the eco-1.5 liter mated to a horrible cvt. The 2.0t has no lag at all.
direfranchement I haven't gotten to sample the Fender system in the VW but I would say that most signature sound systems in cars today are pretty good. Just a massive improvement over sound systems from a couple decades ago.
continuation of below - the owner's manual has no information about using a car wash. Despite the matte finish on the dashboard, there is an unpleasant glare when sun strikes it directly. No one has a custom car cover. Not happy with the lack of a spare tire although this wasn't a deal breaker.
I just took delivery on a new Accord EX-L and so far share none of your objections. I do keep in mind, however, that it's a $30,000 sedan and not a $60,000 sedan. I rarely use the radio so the sound system isn't a factor and on a 200 mile trip yesterday didn't notice turbo lag and found the ride to be pretty quiet, depending on the type of road surface. The only thing I don't like is the seating position but it's not a Honda problem, it's a trend in all new sedans. The cars are lower and therefore the seating position is lower but I knew that when I bought the car. All in all, after a pretty short time, I find the car to be an all around winner for the price.
I just bought a 2022 Honda Accord 2.OT.. I love my car, the only bad thing about it that I’ve noticed so far is the back up camera.. it’s very blurry. But the car after all is worth every penny. 👌🏻
You do realize you bought an Accord right? If you were looking for a fast car with a great sound system you chose poorly. Oh yeah and Vanilla Ice called.....he wants his hair back.
I have driven my 2018 Honda Sport for 18K miles. The only thing I agree on is the sound system. Everything else is JUST NOT THERE. Yes you got a turbo lag no more that whats to be expected and definitely less that my buddy's Passat. My interior doesn't make any noises. Something is wrong with yours. I replaced my tires with Michelin PRIMACY MXM4 and now the car is quieter than some luxury cars. About the information... isn't that case with any new car model? Be a little patient
I've owned 17 cars in my lifetime and I've heard the gasoline sloshing around in all of them. I don't think it's an odd thing at all. You've probably never paid attention to it before or perhaps it is a bit louder in the '18 Accord but it isn't uncommon at all.
My tanks been full the whole time it's something I did not hear yet maybe cuz the car moves too fast. He said it's not that fast or the brake stop too hard
How does this compare to the last generation accord? I owned the last generation accord and loved it. I wish that it had more safety features like automatic emergency braking and adaptive cruise control. Those were my only complaints.
I've never drove the last generation car, only ridden passenger, but I love the ride on the new accord. Little tighter, but feel much more planted at all times on the road.
I just got a 2020 lx and things haven't changed: -A lot of noise is heard from the rolling. -the audio system is not good (maybe it is because of the version you bought, but there are many brands at a lower price with better audio systems) - The third and most worrying is that when accelerating and decelerating, I have felt a kind of jerkiness of the transmission, I have seen some videos that talk about CTV, I am waiting to get to the first service to review this matter....it worries me !
I put a powered 12" sub from Rockville and line in converter with auto on for $150 installed easy in my lx. I also thought that it was a little laggy on take off until I drove a Mitsubishi Outlander on our vacation rental car it was horrible no power all the way up until the top of the band The Accord is much smoother just drive something else and you'll see the Accord drives nice in comparison.
I'm surprised the radio was that much of an issue; car radios were almost all crap when I was younger, but most of the recent model cars I've driven with radios I disliked had one specific issue, like door-mounted tweeters that were too raspy, or bass speakers in small sealed enclosures that created muddy resonances. If the largest speakers are mounted on the decklid, using the trunk as an enclosure, I seldom have a lot of complaints. As for turbo lag, I guess they still haven't gotten it down to the point where it's not noticeable, but the only car in which it really bothered my was a Saab with a manual transmission; nothing worse that trying to work a clutch with an engine that has no starting torque, and that Saab had kind of a high first gear. Anyway, it would be nice if they could put some kind of electric preboost on turbos to make the lag a non-issue. I assume that will be easier one more cars are sold as "light hybrids".
Hahaha! I'm sure nobody in this world will just buy a car without test drive. That 20 minutes ain't shit unless you own it for a week or two then you'll find all the negative issues. So, go rent one for a week or two before you buy....that's the way to go.
I have a whack sound system in my Honda CR-V 2014, my system in my Honda CR-V 2000 had a separate bass and treble control and a great thumping Sound, and was a cassette deck instead of cd, but I actually love because I recorded live concerts from my cd to cassette and numerous people use to come to me and ask me where I bought those great concerts from
ua-cam.com/video/bTWXooOzei0/v-deo.html Here is a more detailed description and demo of the sound system, (or something quite similar). It has 3 speakers in back, including a smallish "sub"-wooffer. Hard to tell from a video how good it is, at least if like me, you like bass that is felt more than heard. The comments suggested that complaints about this system are not uncommon. My '05 came with two 6X9s with polypropylene cones and rare-earth magnets and a 6" or something in each door; I added a little damping to the cones of the 6X9s, but otherwise I've left it alone. I'd prefer a simple "do no harm" system to which I can add a subwoofer if needed than one with a sub that was chosen and adjusted by someone else. Subwoofers are great when they are properly tweaked, but really bad if just amped up to impress the prols.
I bought a 2018 Camry hybrid about 4 months ago. The only thing I don’t like about the car is my phone slides all around the charging pad and off the contact, I fixed that myself with a little trick. Low road noise, great quality interior, excellent sound system . I have Averaged 49 mpg . I have not had a single problem with the car. When I bought the car gas prices were low and they were giving great incentives. I have never owned a Honda, I’m sorry but I have always felt they were cheap inside. Some people swear by Honda’s , but I have known severAl people with them and they have had a lot of issues, on par with a domestic car. I would take the car to the dealer about the gas sloshing around , sounds like they left a baffle out of the gas tank when they made it. Trade it in on the Camry , no turbo lag! Turbos are nothing but a problem waiting to happen!!!
I agree with much of what you say. The sound system IS very disappointing for sure. My previous car was a 2013 Toyota Corolla, and that roller skate had a much nicer sounding stereo. The AM radio tuner sounds particularly bad. Go ahead and scoff, but there's some good stuff on AM and AM can actually sound pretty good with a quality receiver -- unlike the one on the Accord. The stereo sounds best when it's playing streaming audio like iHeartRadio or Google Music.
I own a 2015 accord lx; which is my 3rd honda. It will definitely be my last honda. I can't stand the rattling and the road noise and the suspension is horrible. it's has 26,000 miles but runs and feels as if it had 150k miles. next is either toyota or mazda maybe subaru
Your right the main issue being the 1st year for the 2.0 and 10 speed trans, hopefully honda solved any long term reliability problems, the main one being direct injection turbo engine carbon build up, which has afflicted all manufacturers with problems early on.
I test drove an Accord touring with the 10 speaker system. With all the low end of the EQ maxxed and the mids/highs turned down the system still lacks. Granted this was on radio and not USB audio but my 2015 Malibu stereo blows it out of the water.
I had an 07 civic ....rattles everywhere. Have a 4 year old Cruze...40K ...tight as a new car. Not a Honda hater...just giving the facts I’ve experienced.
Until my lower back gave out and I had to have surgery- I detailed cars as a second job. I got to drive a lot of different cars and got to know them inside and out. I would rate Toyota slightly above Honda in holding up over time. I’ve seen too many Honda’s with faded interiors and paint that had clear coat failure. But, that said, I bought my youngest daughter a 2014 Civic EX-L and we baby it. Always garage kept and washed/wax often (wife helps now). So I would say Honda’s need more TLC than Toyota - but at least they hold their resale value.
Should get Kia Stinger instead! I got a 2108 Accord 2 weeks ago, and there are rattles every where. My new Accord been to shop 3 times already, still rattles from 2 different locations. Stock audio system sucks too.
I really like the looks of the stinger! I haven’t had the opportunity to ride in one yet, but hopefully I will. Sorry to hear about your car being in the shop so much.
Not sure why the TD's. The Civic forums are fully of posts about rattling, and the bad audio quality, so I wouldn't be surprised if the Accord is the same. Two other Accord to Camry videos I've seen say the Camry is quieter. And a few people have mentioned lag with the 1.5T Civic, but it can be tuned to help that. So you're mentioning of all these things is believable. Although the interior looks pretty nice to me, and gas sloshing isn't worth mentioning. My old Civic did the same. It does have a gas tank, with gas in it.
Whats crazy is I really miss my 2013 Honda Accord EX-L but watching this video has brought back memories of things I really hated with it. The sound sucks!!! I had to put a sub and new speakers in it. Then the road noise was terrible too I remember hating that. It was so loud. The camry is so much more quiet than the accord. I will say I loved my fuel economy of the accord and the way it drove. I still can't believe after 5 years people are still complaining about the same stuff.
Hey I have the similar issues you are having, but not all. I do really dislike the sound system. Have you upgraded to a new one? If so, what did you do to it? Thanks man
GarageProjects I think all.we.have to do is get better speakers or better rear speakers with better base... Or a subwoofer in between the 2 rears (like the ex and up brings)... Let me know and thanks alot
We had a 2016 civic ex-t. It also suffered from dash rattles especially in winter. Also the honda sensing was annoyingly intrusive. Sometimes it would alert me to brake when there was nothing there. My wife just got a 2018 toyota camry xse 4cyl . It has a new 8 speed and i feel it gear hunts a lot plus the car is rated at 29 city 39 highway. That's bull. I will give toyota a thumbs up for the solid build. No rattles even when hitting pot holes is quiet. Nothing feels cheap inside. Just annoyed by the fake mpg and 8speed always down shifting
I have a 2011 Accord SE, the car is great, the service department at Mentor Honda made me decide to never buy a car from them again. There were two things wrong with the car when I bought it new, defective Dunlop tires and a sticking left front brake caliper. When I took it in for my service appointment and waited for four hours while I watched the service staff eat doughnuts and cookies with their coffee, I was told there was nothing wrong with the brakes and new tires would be ordered. I went back a week later for the tires to be installed and after waiting for another two hours they came and told me that the tires had never come in for my car. A simple phone call would have eliminated the wait. The brakes were again checked and I was told nothing was wrong. Since I drove mostly highway miles, it took four years, but lo and behold, the left front brake pads were worn and needed replacing and the calipers needed replacing too. I will never again do business with a Penske owned dealership because their service departments suck.
Are you on driveaccord.net? 1) The stereo in my 2.0L is sounding better after 3,000 miles, possibly it's upgraded over the 1.5L. 2) I agree on the wind noise. I had the dealer replace the plastic windshield trim piece on the driver side A-pillar because it seemed loose, the noise is now worse after getting the car back. Going to have them look at it again. It's possible all the wind noise is coming from these pieces on either side of the windshield. 3) Gas sloshing around, nope not heard this on my car when pulling in the garage. 4) Interior fit & finish is without a doubt the best in any Accord so far, to me it's near the quality of an Audi interior. No creaks or rattles on my car. 5) As you know, info will come with time. Nobody should really expect a lot of aftermarket parts for a 1.5T Accord. More go fast parts will be geared towards the 2.0T. As for turbo lag, again, not noticeable on the 2.0T with the 10-spd Auto, but don't confuse the slight sluggishness of a CVT with turbo lag or engine management. On my car, the throttle mapping is such that in normal more the car is only moderately responsive, in ECO mode it's less responsive, and in Sport mode it responds as I would expect a car that dyno's 265hp should. However, I don't like having to switch into Sport mode each time I start the car. I'm looking seriously at the Hondata or Kpro flash for the Accord Sport 2.0T. So for me, the only real complaint I have is the wind noise, which I think can be improved. If the dealer can make worse by "fixing" a problem, I have hope that it can be made better with a little garage engineering.
I can't relate to any of these comments. 2.0T Touring is more luxurious and sporty than all my prior BMW and Audi, and is packed with way more features than any of those previous vehicles. Granted it is newer, and my last car was a 2011 328i, but still. The new Honda has every feature I would possibly use and some I don't even need, in a much more reliable platform.
I would just disregard everything he said, especially if you're planning to get the correct Accord; the 2.0t Touring. It has precisely none of these "issues".
Is this a 1.5L or 2.0L engine? There is a huge difference between the two vehicles, since the 2.0 is based off of the EX 2017 model and the 1.5 is based off of the LX 2017.
I own an 2007 Acura RL with 225k miles, recently I was thinking of trading it in for a new 2018 Accord and went and actually bought it. The more I drove the Accord I felt the exact same issues in it that you just mentioned in this video. Too much exterior noise, turbo lag and poor interior quality etc. I took the Accord right back in and demanded my Acura back, I was lucky because they agreed. When I drove my Acura RL, I fell in love with its serene quiet ride, it's high build quality all over again. An 11 year old car with 225k miles is better then this new Accord.
1 surprises me because Honda sound sytems are typically brilliant. Get Hertz speakers, they're phenomenal and will produce the chrisp sound you want. 2 is funny because I find that modern cars are too isolated from the road for my liking. I've experienced being able to hear fluids in plenty of other cars. Doesn't bother me. 3 Flashpro. That's all. It will solve everything. I think Honda wanted something more restrained and fuel efficient from the turbo engines, that's why they're tuned that way. But Hondata Flashpro gets rid of the lag. 4 really surprises me because Hondas build quality is typically brilliant with no rattles to speak of. That's been my experience with my FA5 Si, TL, and CRV anyway. Nothing is stopping you from going in with some tools and tape to hunt down the rattle if it bothers you that much. That's what I'd do anyway. 5 I'm sure you know this already, but get on those forums. They hold all the answers and let you know when new aftermarket parts are available. If you want a CAI now, you could pretty easily fabricate one or you could try and fit one designed for the Civic Si.
The gas sloshing in the tank? His number six complaint must be that the stitching in the seats is too pronounced and he can feel it as the gas is sloshing in the tank.
TLDR
1. No vape holders.
2. Can't blast my dubstep so loud my vision blurs.
3. Not 90s enough for my hair style.
4.Can only angle the wheels in 15 degrees. Need that stance, bro.
5. Not enough Vtec.
Troll
Nailed it. It's a nice car but he wants the ex on an lx budget. If only he researched a little more before he spent the hard earned money his parents earned to buy him this car.
Definitely agree on with you on the poor quality of the sound system, and the amount of road noise I can hear while driving. Good video man!
Love it for that!
Paul Grewal great reply man. Your very positive.
Wheel spin on the 2.0 blows. I can't wait till I upgrade my rubber to some pirellis
Paul Grewal. Here! Here! 👍
u congratulating for someone leasing a car?
AVALON 0-100 in 8.5 seconds? REALLY TRY 15+ to 18 seconds DA
I always hear my gas swishing when I park in all my cars I have had.
umm, thats not normal.
I have never heard gas swishing around in any of my cars. That’s deep.
That’s your stomach you’re hearing.
i agree about the sound system, rattling noise and also when my accord sites outside in the worm weather the dashboard ( specially above the string wheel )sounds like some one pilling the velcro straps. i did take it to Honda dealer ship where i got the car from and they could not able to figure it out where this noise is coming from.
I feel like all Honda’s have crap stereos. I have a 17 civic si and it sucks. The stereo.
I drove a 2018 for 2 full weeks while my 2017 Honda Accord exl was in the shop and I can say from driving both for extended time is the new Honda does have noticeable more lag than my 2017!
Is the sound system on default settings? If so, change treble and bass to maximum.
Good point! Mine only seems to lack the deeper base that a sub would give. I rarely have to go past 12 with the volume.
Gas sloshing doesn't seem like a big deal to me, I've heard it in every car I've owned including a 2006 and 2016 Accord.
I am fortunate to own a 2016 Honda Accord V6 Touring coupe. Seeing these reveiws I am so glad I have the older V6 model rather than the new 2 litre 4 cylinder.
The gas tank is supposed to have internal baffles to minimize any sloshing noises.
I couldn’t agree more. I own a 1.5 and noticed the tire air pressure doesn’t say witch tire needs air. That bugs me alottt
Thanks for the vid and being helpful instead of trying to hype up the new Accord. There are sooooo many vids on UA-cam all over it's tip already.
I hear rattling from where the seat belt comes from and I do hear a lot of air noise on the highway as well. It sucks.
Reason why there’s such a noticeable lag, has to do with the cvt transmission as well. The lag isn’t as bad on the 2.0t with the 8speed automatic transmission
That 1.5t is a big issue, ever googled 1.5T oil dilution problems..... class action suit now. The 16 on up Civic, 2017 CRV on up and the 18 Accord
Thanks for the input!
2017 looks better imo. I hate how the new civics and accords look like hatch backs. The 18 accord looks like a stretched out hatchback version of the civic. 2017 had a WAY better shape and the lights in the back are nice looking only thing I give the 1up to the 18 is the interior. I feel bad for ppl who buy touring models because they spend so much more for minimal improvements.
unless you bought 2017 touring like i did when they were clearing them out at much reduced pricing, less than 30k to make room for this 2018 POS.
THANK YOU!
Why would you get such a tiny engine in a big car like that?
I'll be holding onto my 2017 V6 touring coupe for a long time
Yes
what about when you have kids
FYI the same size tires are on my Volvo S60 polestar BUT they come with noise reduction foam in the tires. Not sure the accord has that.
refineness? LoL....I think you mean refinement
I also already have 6,600 miles on it so I’ve definitely put some mileage on it.
hows it holding up? im looking into the same trim u have
So, you got the cheap one and are complaining that it's the cheap one? Is that the way of it?
I own 2.0T sport and the turbo lag is felt but not any worse than expected. I think the hire torque ratio makes all the difference. I agree with the sound system and I am also getting noise on the interior. More than I would like sometimes but I wanted the 19” with a lower profiles for the look so I will take the good with the bad.
Yeah I bet the 2.0T helps minimize the lag quite a bit more. Congrats on the new car. Overall the car is great, another video will be coming on that.
You are right i road tested the new accord and the interior doesn't have the quantity that honda used before sound system terrible, wind leaks all the way around i told that to the sales person at the dealer ship
Thats one of my main complaints. I still love the car.
I have 2018 accord sport 1.5t CANADIAN model and it comes with 452watte sound and im in love with it
It's a family sedan you should gave bought the 2.0. I drove the 2.0 and that convinced me to spend the extra for the bigger engine. Gas penalty is not that much.
Carey Hinds and the vtec kick :) is awesome... the 2.0T is the way to go, 0-60 in no time and the exhaust sound is nice
Your honestly missing out without that 2.0T. I drive a 2014 v6 but my passat 2.0T is a beast! I drove the new 2.0T and it definitely feels faster than the v6. Only bad thing is the turbo reliability of your keeping it for life...
Carey Hinds I bought 1.5 because I drive alot...would of bought 2.0 if I didn't put on 30000 km a year
Same reason I went with the 2.0. Its more fun to drive, and the best part, its not a damn CVT thank god!
I love my 2.0 😎
Millions of people in other countries can't even afford to buy a used car.
Bose would be a huge upgrade!
2015 Civic EX: I love the car but..... I hate the creaking noise it makes when I turn or the Swooshing of the fuel in the fueltank
After two EX accords. I decided not to go with the 2018. I switched to KIA and love the car.
So, it has been 2 years now. How's that accord hold up vs. your expectation?? What's broken and what's not?
Is the sound system different from 2.0 vs 1.5T? If so, is it noticeably better?
What trim level do you have? I have a 14 EX-L and like it but am thinking about a Touring 2.0 next year after I see how the new version fared this year.
1.5L Sport. I actually love the car, but I wanted to point out its' flaws.
Nice video!
Mostly same gripes with my last gen '16. The drivetrain lag with the 1.5/CVT was terrible in the Civic, too. There's no longer a Honda in my garage.
Hey, Have you had your coolant, brake fluid, and transmission fluid changed yet? If so, at what mileage?
I like the Fender system in my 2016 VW Passat SEL. One of the reasons I chose that trim level.
direfranchement I haven't gotten to sample the Fender system in the VW but I would say that most signature sound systems in cars today are pretty good.
I had some rattles on my 2018 Sport 2.0T. Took it to the dealership and they got them all fixed under warranty. No lag issues with the bigger engine.
In my old 2008 Hyundai Sonata, the gas swishing was extremely noticeable when I parked in my garage.
the garage is the only time it bothers me as well.
How do you fix the Honda road noise? Park it in a Lexus dealership and leave it there.
I am just curious. Is it turbo lag or the rubber band effect from the CVT? I know CVTs off the line are not quick
probably a combination of both. Honda wants to increase MPG, but there definitely is noticeable lag as well.
Word to ya mother :)
2.0T Accord with a tune is gonna be seriously quick.
ice ice baby - that last comment was freaking hilarious
LMAO!!
Come on guys, grow up. Leave the kid alone. He just resembles vanilla Ice with or without the engine, as he has that very square jaw look.
Unresponsive cvt is NOT turbo lag, just for the record.
Dude finally someone who understands!... I definitly hear the gasoline swooshing all the time it's truly very odd.
Thank you!!! Some people think I’m crazy because it needs to be almost silent in the car to hear it, but it’s so odd/annoying.
I've owned 17 cars in my lifetime and I've heard the gasoline sloshing around in all of them. I don't think it's an odd thing at all. You've probably never paid attention to it before or perhaps it is a bit louder in the '18 Accord but it isn't uncommon at all.
Ive always heard this in most every vehicle but of course if he is backing in his garage where its much quieter he prob noticed easier
I usually hear gasoline slosh while backing up on my 17 but none while driving. I would hear this on some of my other cars aswell.
My tanks been full the whole time it's something I did not hear yet maybe cuz the car moves too fast. He said it's not that fast or the brake stop too hard
I LOVE HEARING THE GAS MOVING AROUND IN MY GAS TANK AFTER I FILLED IT UP IN MY 1994 HONDA ACCORD DX....
Man agreed. Speakers are just garbage on the accords compared to other cars in this range
Complete Trash. Definitely changing the speakers out soon!
I just got a 2020 lx and things haven't changed:
-A lot of noise is heard from the rolling.
-the audio system is not good (maybe it is because of the version you bought, but there are many brands at a lower price with better audio systems)
- The third and most worrying is that when accelerating and decelerating, I have felt a kind of jerkiness of the transmission, I have seen some videos that talk about CTV, I am waiting to get to the first service to review this matter....it worries me
!
I agree about the sound and the amount of vibrations in the dash. I also dislike the plastic tip on the dipstick
Thats for the recommendations!
Two words for anyone looking for a new car: TEST DRIVE.
Hahaha! I'm sure nobody in this world will just buy a car without test drive. That 20 minutes ain't shit unless you own it for a week or two then you'll find all the negative issues. So, go rent one for a week or two before you buy....that's the way to go.
I have a whack sound system in my Honda CR-V 2014, my system in my Honda CR-V 2000 had a separate bass and treble control and a great thumping Sound, and was a cassette deck instead of cd, but I actually love because I recorded live concerts from my cd to cassette and numerous people use to come to me and ask me where I bought those great concerts from
ua-cam.com/video/bTWXooOzei0/v-deo.html
Here is a more detailed description and demo of the sound system, (or something quite similar).
I have a 2015 Civic and my dashboard has that same vibration/rattle, though I mostly notice it on cold start ups
Did you turn up the bass from the sound settings?
I test drove an Accord touring with the 10 speaker system. With all the low end of the EQ maxxed and the mids/highs turned down the system still lacks.
Granted this was on radio and not USB audio but my 2015 Malibu stereo blows it out of the water.
I’m intrigued between the accord and Camry but may lean toward Camry based on your video.
Go with the Accord! I love this car, but wanted to point out its flaws. Ive driven both cars. My other videos highlight the pros of this car.
My 17 civic has rattles also. My 2009 civic si didn’t have that at all, neither did my 98 civic.
Kris Menon I have a 99.. best car ever
I had an 07 civic ....rattles everywhere. Have a 4 year old Cruze...40K ...tight as a new car.
Not a Honda hater...just giving the facts I’ve experienced.
I heard the gas swishing around in my 2014 v6 touring
"2108 Accord" is a prototype model, of course it'll have a lot of kinks to work out
Not sure why the TD's.
My next video goes over what I love about the car. Overall, its a great vehicle, but Honda still has some issues to fix.
Hey I have the similar issues you are having, but not all. I do really dislike the sound system. Have you upgraded to a new one? If so, what did you do to it? Thanks man
I have not upgraded the sound system yet. Planning it soon with videos to come!
I will never again do business with a Penske owned dealership because their service departments suck.
is it only when you use the radio? or using your music from media?
Both. System lacks the power. Im not surprised since it is stock. Definitely will be upgraded.
I agree it is a great car, but I just wanted to point out some flaws in my opinion. My other views show how much I love the car!
1st year, early production car something we all should avoid... thanks for the video!
Overall, still a great car! Just a few kinks to work out. My next video goes over what I love about the car.
That’s why I bought a 2016 ;-)
I would just disregard everything he said, especially if you're planning to get the correct Accord; the 2.0t Touring. It has precisely none of these "issues".
Looks like Honda Skimped on the sound system to keep Costs down. They know if there's any area where they can get away with cutting it's that.
yeah you're right. ill spend only $400 and get a system 10x better.
Glad everything worked out for you. I actually love my accord, but I wanted to point out its' flaws.
Dude you can get a sport for 23,000...what do expect. By far the best bang for your buck
I completely agree! Watch my video about what I love about the car. I talk about its great value
Dear sir,
If you dislike the new Honda Accord why did you buy it? Just wondering.
Would you prefer the 2018 honda civic???
Civic is too small for me. I like both the civic and accord. I just wanted to point out some downfalls of this car
The gas sloshing in the tank? His number six complaint must be that the stitching in the seats is too pronounced and he can feel it as the gas is sloshing in the tank.
