This is in our backyard and we grew up watching races here. It has such a rich history of racing and exciting entertainment. I can speak for other locals, the community appreciates your passion for re-inventing this amazing property. Looking forward to coming to a future event and watching your progress and growth. Thank you for these behind the scenes tours, you brought back so many memories. Legendary auto salesmen Tom Stimus (Wrestler Dusty Rhodes in the commercials) once bought and owned this track and made it an amazing showplace in the 80's. I remember meeting Al Unser Sr here and watching World of Outlaws, Sprint Cars, Figure Eights, smashing up derby and locals race what you brought. Really exciting and would be good to bring that back in someway to keep the track active once again. Best Wishes!
I know it’s close enough for us to travel to and I’m so excited! I had the ability to explore an abandoned track in northern Florida before it got revived and I’m so excited for the future of this channel and this business venture we are all in together
I loved the little jabs throughout the video. Hopefully it was just kids making mischief and not a crackhead looking for cash, kids are easier to deal with!
@@thewookiee5174 No argument here, I just think that the kids will respond better to the beating and will grow out of it. Crackheads are used to it and are going to keep on doing their thing, kids may (may, mind you) get the hint--hopefully the first time.
If the vandals are ever caught instead of jail or like some say a beating they should make them work to clean up the track. There is nothing better than good hard labor
isn't cleeter a law student or is that a rumor? short term lease makes sense some local catering company to roll some dogs, flip burgers, slang brewskies if they suck switch it up.
@TheHilander yeah, all those Japanese bikes from like ‘76-‘86 were awesome. They’re cheap, reliable, easy to ride, and easy to work on. By modern standards they’re not crazy fast (I mean honestly who needs 200+hp on a street bike) but they got some zip and are fun as hell to ride.
I wonder if they were mocking Cleetus'es Freedom Factory... Goonzquad has not seem to want to do anything with Cleetus. Hopefully they realize if they can't beat him join him, because yes it would be a good collateralization. I actually messaged the guys at SXS to help Goonzquad with their side by side and then all could have fun with Cletus... They said, they tried to but the boys blew them off.
I literally feel like cleetus brought this place for the fans. I know it’s a business venture, but I really feel when cleetus talks about the place he talks from the heart.
Bullshit i sold this track. I hate live streamings ill always say i made the right decision in muh bussiness. No live streaming cleetus wont livebstream either
Cleetus, you need to get a LLC for the race track so liability cannot be linked to your personal assets. This is a high risk business and should be under some kind of LLC.
Yes I agree to use the back side aluminum stands to make a complete "main stands" and then fix the backside stands as money permits. I think the drivers family's will understand when their asked to just use the main stands along with regular patrons and maybe even have a small section for drivers family. Ok but either way make the main grandstands as complete as possible with what you have on hand using the back stands and close them for construction while you've used the parts from the back to complete the main stands.
People could sponsor new stands for the back stretch. Also, another option for replacing the wood temporarily is recycled plastic boards - they don't rot from rain. They will break down over time in the sun, but that isn't the kind of cascading failure issue that wood presents, once it starts to rot.
@@kidwave1 don't think it'll work for me but thanks for trying LOL. ... you know what I don't think I've ever tried to put the burgers first in the name that actually might help thanks

Hey brother, I’m sure you got a lot of hit ups already but I own a lawn service company and would be willing/honored to provide services to landscape the property for ya. Mow, trimming, weed removal, spraying and whatever else you might need. I was hoping I would see someone closer than myself to offer this! I live in Indiana but would be so willing to grab a trimmer and blower and take care of all the overgrowth there in the common areas. It will look so much nicer once it's cleaned up.
This is hands down one of the coolest things on UA-cam ever. This track couldn't of gone to a better group of people. Hell yeah brother. Visiting here is on my to do list now big time.
Hell yeah brother! Trust me when I tell you..... That place is a diamond in the rough and a great location next to the other track. I'm a little older than you but I love to see young dudes making moves like that$$$$. Put every dollar you can scrape together into that place. It'll be rough in the beginning but you'll be debt-free very very soon. I can only imagine this is mostly going to be a cash intake business. Be very very careful who you have around all that cash. I was friends with the past owner at the drag strip where I live and it was a dump and we would still have to count up 20 to $40,000 every weekend in $20 bills. it was only me and him and his motor home counting that money because he couldn't trust anyone else. Be careful brother good luck and congratulations. Do it for Dale!
I can't wait to see how quick they run out of money. There's at bare minimum a half million to get this thing off the ground for personal use. Way more for commercial.
This is such a huge undertaking. I genuinely hope from the bottom of my heart that Cleetus is able to do something with this and doesn't just let it go belly up.
If anyone can do it cleetus can.hes got America on his side.i would personally donate just to see this happen.plus his brand can carry this idea to reality.
@@dre145 It wont be if they move their entire operation there, The cost would be much lower. This place can expand their event list to a whole lot of things. Everything from car shows, burn outs, drifting, kart racing, circle tracks, Rally racing ( which can be set up and fixed up in their fields and repaired back ) Street car racing ( If they pave the entire middle of the track this will allow for a much larger area and cones are used for this kind of racing ( which is done on parking lots most times ) Other events that I have not thought of, This place could be busy every Friday and Saturday for events. The stands are about 5k people with a 20 dollar event ticket at the low end brings in 100k per weekend or about 5.2 million a year, With the average fan spending 20 dollars on food or merch. This is a total of 10 million for the year. The larger the spread of events brings in your current fans and new fans, Every ticket sold should have a link to youtube and other social media and along with what ever the event that is going on social media. There is some money to be made, With the diverse area they need to expand greatly in order to keep it open. Having an area with a few large shops that can be open for pubic business from Monday to Thursday for dyno testing, Car repair, custom work can greatly increase the income.
William Glaser the problem is he is already in the content business having 1 million people watch his video or 2 million does not cost him any more money. This is why service company’s cannot match the profit margins of a software company or tech company. What he should have done is expand his content business. Which your gonna try to say this will but I don’t think you needed all this headache. If you wanted to run events they could have partnered with the owners instead of brining on all the operations headache instead of focusing on creating better content

You know, I am just proud that someone is starting their own business up in 2019/2020. I might not be the "target audience" for this, but this is just amazing to see. For so long, these places died, and these guys are doing it. And this place has it all! Place for filming, place for doing office work, a freaking BEDROOM AND KITCHEN for when you are crashing after a late show... I mean... SHEESH... How perfect is this?!?
Just a word of advice when you get to the spraying weeds I would avoid "traditional" roundup or similar products. They will generally be about 41% glyphosate. They will kill the vegetation, but the effects don't last very long. You will want a soil sterilizer for the pavement. Those work for up to a year. Also when you spray you can get a dye that you mix in with the sprayers to see where you have and haven't sprayed. Be sure all people applying chemicals use extreme caution and use appropriate PPE. Rubber boots, rubber gloves, long pants, long sleeves, and possibly a mask. Seriously read the labels.
Respirator and eye protection no matter what you spray! I always tell people if it can kill a weed then imagine what it's doing to you when you get it on/in you. I'm no professional by any means but that stuff's nasty!
I was talking to my mom and telling her that my favorite youtuber just bought the old Desoto Speedway! She grew up in Bradenton and used to go to a lot of racing events down there in the 90’s! Let’s all take a minute to shame the vandals who don’t respect other people’s property. They obviously were not doing it for Dale. Dale would never disrespect someone’s property.
its always a risk especially when places are abandoned im suprised at how untouched someof this stuff was if i was to come across this i would be so amazed and take so many photos not ruin it and destroy it ...
Being a volunteer firefighter when I saw the spreaders I was in heaven seeing old equipment. They spreaders alone are $1,000 to 10,000 just for the spreaders if new. Them old pair are probably 700 to 1,000 dollars. Don’t get me wrong this whole race track is awesome. Can’t wait to see this whole thing up an running one day
You should have a "friends car" "burn" to a crisp on the track and then act "sad" so you can collect fraudulent "charity" money. Ask Adam Lz, it's worth 10 grand. That's burnout pad money boiiii
"this looks like every grandfathers garage" literally had to pause the video and laugh it out because it's all to true. my grandfathers got air tool oil from the 70s easily. really wish i lived closer to florida. would love to come out and hang out with you guys and do yard work on the track. wouldn't even ask to get paid because the best payment will be the memories of all the people to come and kids getting into the circle track scene.
what this guy said, I am trying to figure out how to move my family to Florida to get to help out/semi retire. super handy and good with electronics. wish i could help.
I'm actually amazed how good all the facilities look to be. Usually as soon as a building gets abandoned it gets trashed. Cant wait to drive my happy ass from Washington to the Freedom Factory
James' face when he saw the motorbike was so priceless i had to watch it twice lol. So excited to see more of this. Also it's called a concourse Cleet.
Wow. That concessions area is was actually left in pretty good shape. That equipment cleans up really well and the parts are all simple to replace if needed. Big bucks left in there for sure.
Start a gofundme campaign and have the tiers represent price estimates for upgrades/fixes to the park, like new bleachers, new concrete, paint, etc. Would love to participate.
My favorite part of this video is how cleet is laughing about the vandalism, when he said "they came and broke the fluorescent bulbs and breathed in the fumes, once again another tough break" that had me dying looool
The few times I was at DeSoto Speedway in the early ‘80’s, it was a first class facility! The nicest short track I had ever been too. Hope y’all get it back in first class condition.
I'm pretty sure he plans to do that and more, I'm sure short-track is not at the top of his list but he'll get it there... unfortunately it's starting to be a dying sport these days (I blame NASCAR), his plans are for something even better which is more suited for the times, I'm sure it will kick the place right back into gear, and hopefully bring back some of that old flare of some good old Circle Track right along with it for the ride.
@@justinhobart8747 yeah i dont think it will be a legit racing track, its just too big of a scale to run i think, you need purely business labor and mentality to run that then, to me it just sounds like hes going to make cleetus n cars a montly or weekly event type of thing, mixed with burnout days. definitely cant run a burnout track in the middle of ring track surely if your running races.
@@erikja123 yeah he can do anything i assume tbh he could run racing series on a small scale maybe as he is getting sponsors in which are all racing or car associated.
@@Dockhead Don't see why you couldn't run a burnout ring in the center of the race track, all you're doing is replacing the grass with concrete, you're not changing the track or any.... No don't think racing will be the main purpose but, I don't see any reason you couldn't run a race now and then. The money is just not in racing anymore. That's why the track has failed twice within the last 10 years.
I like they are all appreciative and want to reuse the stuff left behind. I’ve seen others do a walk through of a property and they’re damaging good stuff, tossing it out, etc. That shows me they know the value of hard work and not having money.
@@kidwave1 It's just a bedroom off the main office and not an apartment. I still think they could make something work with a full time caretaker/security person. Lots of options.
You can get metal plates, it's not the doors its the door frames that are a big factor, also concealed hinges are good so no one can break in using a pair of pliers and maybe a big old simply safe sponsorship.
Ok so let the next person/persons break in and be sure to catch them. Shoot them in the crotch with bean bags and make it into a video. Word will spread. Problem solved. Lol!
You guys are living your best life. Doing it right and making an American dream come true. Thanks for representing' Murica in the best way. Damn fine Americans.
Kermit of Rivia easy to see why. They were banning people from coming and enjoying themselves by filming their night and thought that making LESS noise about how much fun was happening there would somehow HELP them advertise getting more people in!
That sign was funny. You should livestream every event you put on there, just out of spite and because your business plan is firmly based behind a large audience. Also for people like me that won’t otherwise be able to watch. If I lived nearby I would attend. I’m new to your channel and have enjoyed what I’ve seen so far! Keep it up!
Research the costs of refurbishing motor speedways of ANY size. Not talking about shit-show refurbs, but ones that will offer safety to the driver and fans. Astronomical.
I'd redo the pit area to bring it up to modern standards, but you need to install a live in groundskeeper or caretaker if you're going to start loading the place up with expensive gear, trust me/
And a security system, it looks like a handful of well placed cameras (like one set to catch plates of cars leaving) would do wonders, also for a temporary fix buy some of those dollar store, battery powered, door alarms with the magnet sensors. They scream loud as FK any time anyone opens a door. It will help, also the entrance, I'm guessing there is only 1 or 2 ways to get a car into there, take a couple of those old trucks and block off the entrance when your not there. If some kids wanted to rob y'all, they cant get a truck into the area so they would have to load it up all while leaving the truck out where people could see it.
All I’m saying is when I hear “abandoned race track” I imagine a space that’s been run on a shoe string budget for years with lots of maintenance that’s been put off to save money. I’m sure it wasn’t a pretty penny. Antioch speedway was for sale in my neck of the woods last year and it went for something like $500,000. It was in the middle of no where and super run down too.
Looking forward to "cleeterNats 2021" People be expecting that scene from cars when you turn the power on. Neons n shit everywhere. Gotta tilt the hat to you guys. Fine work thus far. 👌
That old “NO LIVE STREAMING” sign blew my mind. The mentality of some folks just doesn’t flow with how things are these days. This applies throughout every aspect of life.
It’s so awesome that you’ve saved this place! Hate to see old racetracks go to waste. Makes me a bit sad to see that, so it’s super-cool what you’re doing!

Few pointers that you should keep in mind. All of the soda fountain stuff is mostly trashed, You might be able to save the dispenser. The sure flows will be more than likely be seized up, The carbonator may or may not work. You will have to replace all the lines, BIB stuff. and even the co2 regulators. For the BIB ( bag in box soda ) you might want to consider soda bottle as a cheaper option. In some cases BIB will cost you more than a wholesale soda. The same goes with the kegs and beer tap stuff. The fridge units will have to pass inspection and more than likely will have to be replaced. The fryers depending on condition will need to be steamed cleaned by a professional company. Do not attempt to do this your self. Stoves and other units will need to be checked for mice. If there is any mice droppings on them, Cleaning them will cause them to dilute the piss and they will stink. In the best case you might get away with using a lot of the older equipment. I would contact your local health department and have them come out in the next month to give you an assessment on what safety items you will need to do. This can be a huge bummer if you clean it all up and get an inspection a few weeks before your first event and come to find out you do not have enough hand washing sinks, not enough hot water, Bad water and a lot of those things. Being in your area there might even be some consulting firms that can assist you with this. As for you concessions. Signs should be all tv/computer run so that you do not need to deal with the old school looks. Keep your food to a minimum, Over thinking things tends to huge losses. Do not stick with just Pepsi product, Do BOTH, I hate places that only have coke and I have to drink that crap they call Mellow yellow., Yet some people like it. Do not get stingy on being a Pepsi only brand, You will sell more drinks this way. Also include a full line of diet. Since you know the owners of the drag strip and the other places near them, Talk to them about what sells the most. This way you make money while not spending a huge amount of money of stuff that does not sell. For track related stuff, Invest in more lighting. Benches, You can always contact companies that make the benches and see if they will give you a deal. Another thing is to contact a all of the raceways and other related places and see if they are replacing or have extra of this stuff. Put an ad in Craigslist and FB market place asking if anyone has any of this stuff. Many times when these things are either torn down or replaced some scrapper picks them up for next to nothing and stores them either for resale or sell when scrap prices jump high. For the track and burn out pad, Do you due diligence and research a bit of this and even contact companies that do this for real. Not all local companies that do road work will know how to properly build tracks and burn out pads. For all of the other areas that need fixed contact and seek out permanent sponsorships with a local paving company that also does small jobs that can chip seal and fix all of the areas. This will give them the opportunity to boost about their work at the Freedom Factory while also giving fans the opportunity to hire those that are local. Great for them and great for you. Think for the future and where you might put up your new shops, Even contacting a company that might be interested in building you a building at a lower cost while having their named sponsored as well. If you get a sponsor for something like this, Do a video all about it on here and a few more on your other channel. While they can put up a small video on their channels about Freedom Factory New building and link to you videos. There is always new fans that may not see your channel and might view it while they are looking for something related to one of your sponsors. The more channels you get your name one the further you can go.
Nobody is going to read the book you wrote. My god get a life. Yes the drink machine could be brought back to life with a little hot water and soaking. Nothing about that stuff is”trash.”
@@ecbadboy101 How little do you know about how drink machines work.... The hoses should be replaced, The shurflo are going to be locked up after sitting in sugar for the better part of 2 years, Its cheaper to replace them at 20 dollars each, Even rebuilt machines do not reuse hoses or shurflo . The carbonator might be good like i said, yet it will need new hoses and fitting along with a new co2 regulator. I did not even go in to the remote chiller or the ice plate, Depending on if it was drained of the water it may be cracked and leaking. Remote chillers may or may not work. There is a lot that goes in to making a place safe for food retail. If you did not like my post then why did your read it and respond?

Take the aluminum stands from the back side and put them on the main stands to get started then eventually fix the back side ones as time/funds allow.
Back side is NORMALLY for drivers families....or so I thought
That side is for drivers families normally
I think it would b much easier 2 fix the stands then move those stands that are alread bolted in the ground

Yea glyphosate is no joke...
Highly toxic and known to cause cancer....

That needs some vertical stacks and some firebombing injectors. Too bad the jet engine isn't around to mod into a dryer. Heh heh!

Love how positive you are about all this! Exciting time for the crew! Cant wait to see more
That conference room brings back alot of memories 😂 some of us rowdy driver's use to be in there discussing how many weeks we would be suspended
William Glaser I read about 2-3 lines of it my time is more important than a know it all commenter on UA-cam. lol Mr. soda man.
I read it @William Glaser, lot of good points!
@@ecbadboy101 Never said I know it all, I do know some.... Why not spend the time to read it and learn something than to dis a person for putting something out there. I read you comments... Its like the people who ask questions about something and its in the description like the person said... I mean really do people not read anymore or have they just gotten lazy.
13:45 James' face is priceless!!🤣🤣 That man loves anything with an engine!
This is awesome! I’m not just talking about the track itself. It’s awesome that a group of younger people are doing things like this to keep the sport alive. I wish y’all luck. Can’t wait to see what y’all do with the track.
Man, this race track is going to be the most epic content on UA-cam. We gonna get up in the 10 million subs. Man I cant wait to go to this new track. Y'all have some shops there too for testing cars. Omg this is just outstanding. Lordy hell yeah brother. The possibilities are endless.
Would love to see short track racing here. With cleetus being as big as he is in the car UA-cam world I really believe he could give the kickstart that short track racing needs. Cleetus could be the driving force that brings the sport back and get the youth interested again. It would be great to see a weekly race night with multiple classes and maybe get a big money Jegs series or Arca series to make this track part of their circuit! Many new young names are appearing in these series and would surely love to race here. I hope a track promoter and circle track sponsor gets in touch to get the cars to come! Love what you guys do and am looking forward to the future!
short track racing is awesome! The track looks pretty good too! Would love to see the track revived for locals to race on!!
He said he wants to bring racing back to it once he gets everything squared away.
@@musiccitymannn2781 yep, i heard that! i'm just commenting in support of that!!
INEX US Legend cars they do everything from; the Bandolero cars for drivers as young as 8, to hosting celebrity races at some of the bigger tracks they are at.
Make a timelapse of all of the cleaning so we can watch the whole restoration/modification
Yessss!
This is super exciting. I can't wait to go visit the Freedom Factory. I'm really stocked that you made this move. So much more growth for the channel. Congratulations guys see you soon.
Come along way from 4 years glad I took a watch back in ⏲️ time
I must admit this place seems like a hell of alot of work to get up and running again, The good thing is Cleetus has a great following. The people will make it happen
Cleetus may own it but that's OUR TRACK! Can't freaking wait to get out there on it!!!
“If anyone want to come out and pull weeds”. Have the kegerator fired up and those weeds will be cooked
Yea, lets hope he hasn't bit off more than he can chew. Gonna need a bunch of employees to actually make this place run correctly. Or volunteers I guess.
This is the coolest thing I’ve ever seen a UA-camr do. 🔰🔰🔰
schedule a "work day" -- I'll drive up with tools and equipment -- feed us hotdogs and beers.
MariottiMichael nice last name
