I know Nick didn’t look so hot in his return fight, but I’d love to see him fight the right opponent with the proper training and attitude. Prime Nick was such a great fighter, and the way he got fucked out of his career was so wrong.
Worst part about it is that the athletic commission not only robbed Nick and all of us fans of YEARS of his prime (I mean let’s face it, we never saw the old Nick Diaz after that bogus ruling, just him partying and drinking for all those years off after being straight edge minus weed most of his career) but ultimately robbed him for NOTHING. Weed isn’t a banned substance anymore afaik as long as you test and are blasted right before the fight. On top of that they banned him from the sport over metabolites (like trace amounts that could’ve been from weeks or like a month prior) AND he came up clean of that even in all his other tests.
Nick always had a strained relationship with the athletic commission over the differing views on cannabis. They were *looking* to get him, to crucify him, to make an example out of him for being so defiant of them all the time and they took it. Anderson Silva tested positive for steroids, for performance enhancing drugs for that SAME FIGHT. Anderson was juiced and they only gave him a year.
In hindsight it’s so absurd it’s almost criminal. The commission fcked up the history books because they felt the innate desire to go on a fcking power trip and bring down the hammer as hard as they could on Nick Diaz.
i'd rather he stay done tbh. last fight was tough to see. if he came back they would give him some top guy to feed off his name

Nobody fcked Nick career but himself, he was literally in a 3 losing streak and the UFC still pushed him to be a superstart, but he choose to do things wrong and go to strikeforce.

A) He lost to Diego Sanchez, Joe Riggs and future LW champ Sean Sherk. He got laid on for 15 minutes by Sherk and Diego back when mma judges knew even less about how to score than they do now. In all fairness Nick lost a real close fight vs Riggs that the judges easily could have given to him too.
B) He moved on to Strikeforce where he went one of the most renown runs in the history of the sport as Welterweight champion and competed in Japan as well. You make it sound like it was insignificant when that run is legendary to this day.
Nate is an absolute legend , i dont even smoke green but i lobe his attitude to it and how life can be with it 😂 when hes gone we will really miss him 💔

I used to work with Josh's uncle in small town Iowa. It's kind of cool to hear Nate talk about a small town Iowan as his toughest fight!

Just seen his first and second fight with Connor and realized how long it’s been since then😔Feels like just yesterday that 8 year old me was hearing of this dude who beat, who at the time was at the absolute prime of his career and changing the UFC, Connor Mcgregor. And this just reminded me how fast time is flying. Who would’ve knew at that time that 7 years later we’d be where we are now, with all these new champions and superstars.

He highlighted a fight I'm sure alot of "post Connor" Diaz fans have no clue who Neer is, or that Nate ( and Nick) fought him.

I had this weird dream the other night where Nate was interviewed and all conditioning was gone. I thought it was real in my dream. The way I experienced it was he was interviewed in a non media platform environment, an environment that had no bearing on social credibility, he spoke like a man free from social conditioning. It was pretty cool. I thought this was a cool, even more authentic Nate. Anyway, just an interesting thought from a guy on psychoactive substances.

Josh near used to fight at a local bar here in Des Moines Iowa called toad holler I seen him fight multiple guys in a night he fought the entire football team from a local college not the little guys the big linemen came in to fight him.....

That doesn’t make them the toughest he’s faced. That might make them better fighters on that night, but I think Nate and Bradley are strictly talking about the toughest, not necessarily the most skilled. Often times, we find out who the toughest fighters are by the way they lose.

U never been in a real fight. Nate only respects people that could have actually beat him. Not people who had won more rounds than him. In the streets it's to the death. Masvidal was winding fast. As an example. It was a matter of time.
