I'm getting married here at the church next year, and we're heading down to the black beach for a toast. Thank you for your video, I'm very excited to be experiencing this beautiful place with loved ones next year :).
@@IcelandHotSpots we're coming in June! yes praying for good weather, but it is also good luck to have rain on the wedding day, so I don't think I'll mind :)
Lovely beautiful village. I love the big green mountains the small waterfall and river in the middle of the town and the Reynisfjara beach with the black sand and rocks in the middle of the ocean. It is also one of the many places in Iceland I want to go to.
So peaceful! The waves are so majestic and powerful WOW Thanks for this. I need to go back to Icaland when all this Covid mess is over. Best wishes from Bangkok
Honestly I enjoy this videos so much because you let us see the real Iceland streets and houses and all. It was hard for me to find videos like yours and I'm glad I did find your channel!! Takk!!!
Vik is wonderful. Me and my wife loved this place. We were there 3 weeks ago, with strong wind and rainy. Excellent nevertheless. Love your work. Keep going
Congratulations on the videos on the channel, your videos show the country in a different way, I think Iceland is a fantastic country even looking at the videos, personally it must be magical, one day I still want to visit Iceland.
I went there last December just couple of months before Covid. When we arrived in Vik it was already dark and unfortunately we didn't have much time before going back to Reykjavik. However, even when was dark I was able to see how beautiful is this place
Thank you for your story. Very interesting you had that interest to visit since you were a teenager. I hope your next visit will be everything you hope for ☺️
Very good video. Iceland as it is. I was just interested to know this village and the atmosphere. I wonder where are all the people. Are there any public holidays when local residents come out in folk costumes and greet each other. Very interesting, are there any decent hotels. The sea at the black sand beach looks like a place where dragon lives in, and if you dare to swim there it will jump out and eat you. Thank you, very simple and right to the point in terms of what is needed.
Thank you. Yes there are some public holidays, the national independence day is held 17th of june every year and there are people out and about. All sorts of other holidays as well. I often record early and many people might be at work or out on holiday. I guess we just tend to stay inside a lot more haha.
I see the hoses for washing dirt from cars at the upper end of the road near the restaurant. When I was traveling there every town had a place to wash the dust dirt and mud off the car on entering the town so as not to spread the mud all over the place. I never managed to get to Vík. [I think it would be pronounced "veek" in American English]
No not difficult at all. In fact it can be a great place to go solo if you want time for yourself. But take precautions, don't forget your phone and let people know where you are heading if you plan on going on hikes.
@@IcelandHotSpots our tour guide was very rsourceful and managed to shuffle all our bookings and we acually added fly over iceland on our last day and got to see a green glow one night. might have missed one frozen waterfall .
