Sometimes people will say that there's no good music anymore and I say, "There is, every age has good music, but today, you might have to do some digging to find it." Well, this is the good music of this age. This is music that will still sound good to you 30 years from now and when you hear it then, you'll connect it to wherever you are in the universe, right now. It's the music you broke up to or fell in love to or listened to on a long solo road trip through the desert.
I totally agree. I'm 63 and so many people (and even younger) use that lazy phrase. The approach to finding great new music has certainly changed but the payoff to a little exploration has quite a payoff. This song is a great example of that.
Listening to this album feels like reuniting with an old friend. Each song is increasingly more nostalgic than the last hitting closer and closer to home. A desperate love letter to our generation to turn to and hold onto each other tighter with each passing moment, because this life is fleeting. Thank you for this beautiful and deep cutting album. 💖
This is so awesome!!!! I visit Tucumcari, NM when I travel Route 66 every year and I love seeing so many familiar landmarks and people. The woman speaking at the end is Lilah from The Palomino Motel which is also featured. I stay here every year and she is just one of the loveliest people I have met on my journey! If you’re planning to visit or pass through Tucumcari stay at The Palomino and chat with Lilah! This song is so good and I love the video!!! 💜✨
I have only focused on 2024 for my chart playlist. I am definitely going to check out other songs from them as this is the only album I listened to. "Buffalo" is a major hit for me right now.
My new favourite song of the year. A day is not complete without listening to this song at least once, or one of the other songs from this album! It's the lyrics, the melody, the imagery - the whole package! I identify with it so much - it really hits close to home for me, and where my life has been. 💗💯💫👏🌛
Wow, I haven't thought about Miss Jonathan In forever. Oh my heart, how did I not know what happened to her? Darlin it has been an honor to watch you grow into the person you are now
As one who calls the desolate deserts home, this song hits in all the right place: sorrow laden lyrics, wonderful guitar and rhythm, a sense of loss, a RHD Edsel (wait, what???), neon lights and Route 66, and glory hallelujah filmed in Tucumcari on the old Mother Road. Now if that does't put polish on your tailfins, you're a lot more lost than ye know...
i love your story about Miss Jonathan - I’ve had similar people show up in my life. This song will be an outlet I can use for them as well - thank you. And keep it up, your music always gives me something more than just a good tune. Appreciate it!
Wonderful! Thank you Alynda! (By the way, why is the steering wheel on the wrong side of the car? Why is everyone driving on the wrong side of the road? - Is that another layer of symbolism? Mind blown!)
@@rbeigh4761 The steering wheel is on the right, it's clear on the shot below the hotel sign. Which means that using stolen licence plates is pointless... "Hey, captain, it's a 1958 Edsel with the wheel on the wrong side... But the tag doesn't match, so it can't be them". But who cares? Great song, great cinematography, I don't think realism was anyone's intention! 😀
I noticed that too!! ... and then it switches back to being on the proper side...and at one point no one is steering! ... but they're still driving down the road 🤷♀ y'know, that's when I stop overthinking and just dive deeper into the melody and just enjoy the ride! Maybe THAT'S the symbolism?! We're all here for a limited amount of time, just enjoy your time on this spinning little orb of blue, enjoy the company you're with, and enjoy the ride, regardless if anyone is driving, because we can only control so much! Peace to you & yours.🙏
Best weak chin, and buck teeth in the business. And you see, I don't mean that as an insult. I found those attractive qualities. That gives character. I love it. I find most of the "beautiful" people super boring. They're the beige of beauty as far as I'm concerned. So, hurray to Hurray for the Riff Raff! Keep building! Keep creating! Sending Love.

@@andrewwalsh8274 what you said!
I agree. This is great.
Exactly, there was a ton of bad music back in the day, it's just mostly forgotten.

Every record by Alynda is indispensable…
i need to play this the next time i am in the southwest on a roadtrip with my soul-sisters.

This came on local radio channel as I was driving. One of those songs you hear and you have to pull over, stop, and just listen.
The end of this video gave me serious chills. Wow.
They are so talented! Love this music.

I'm pretty sure the diner in this video is the one that I had mozzarella sticks at for the first time while on a road trip with my family in the 90s.
Good ol days!
Not sure bout the mozzarella sticks but this diner is Kix on 66 in Tucumcari New Mexico
Bringing back Susan Vega and Ani Difranco vibes.

Cellphone imaging? or a genuine UK import Edsel???

With the upturned pixie nose. Just adorable features. It's a vibe as the kids say.

This girl is so talented! She makes Anne Murray sound like a donkey what just stepped in a gopher hole!
Cool ⚡⚡⚡
Another masterpiece by the amazing lyricist that Alynda is. So stoked for the album
Hearing a lot of Runaway Train on this one

this song glorifies smashing car windows with golf clubs and I'm not sure how I feel about that.
Good song, but it feels like some wasted potential. It builds and builds then never really "kicks in".
Please add NM to the tour🥹
I strongly recommend for everyone to read the caption💙🤍💗
do you mean the lyrics? I can't tell if I missed a caption. thanks ❤
@@anytreeinbloom oh no, they must have changed it, :( there were this whole story about the person who inspired the song!
