For the best video experience, we recommend wearing a good set of headphones. The audio in this video was recorded with binaural microphones that, when played back through headphones, give the feel of 3D sound. Trick stuff.

This is just what I was looking for!
Real POV test drive, and a look around and inside the car.
Just that simple, but just what I needed!
Pickin up my 13 Si sedan on Friday! Can't WAIT!!!
Dean Delango how is/was it??
I prefer the previous generation, but this one is starting to grow on me.
Sold my 2020 WRX for one of these and can’t believe how much different they are. Such an amazing driver experience and instant power, you don’t have to wait for the turbo so passing and going when you want is so much easier. Actually got to race a 2019 WRX stock to stock and they both just stay beside eachother.
Actually, 2 redlines to hit 60 is more fun than 1 redline to hit 60!. Trust me when in most day to day driving you cant go much faster than 60. So this car is fun when getting onto high ways, and generally more fun to dirve!
Love the close gear ratio! Exterior is on the conservative side for SI model.
I have a 2000 Prelude SH (H22A4)... that crossover is such beautiful sound...favorite part of hitting vtec besides that extra oomph
Nice and good driving!
Good shifting, not forgetting your indicators, damn this is been a while I've seen good driving on UA-cam!
The VTEC crossover is smoother on the new civics... which is mechanically a good thing but man I miss that very distinct crossover sound of the older DOHC VTEC engines
Good car for High School and Collage.
Having said all that, Honda is hard to beat for reliability, price point and a pleasure to own and drive.
720p: On
Pants: Off
It is a very smooth car to drive. And very fun as well. The extra torque makes the day to day driving much sweeter. Yes, that hi revving VTEC is fun, but it isn't necessarily practical. And this car is just as fast.
One has got the have the skill to deserve a sporty car like that! :D
This is just like what they did with the previous gens... The 00 civic SI had a B16 with 160hp and the 05 EP3 had a K20 with 160hp as well..... Not much of a gain with a 400cc increase except a small increase in torque.... Now they did the same from K20 to K24....
I love the POV driving footage!
Thanks for the ride . I might buy one .
were you in 6th gear at 70mph revving at 3k?
There was nothing wrong with the old ones but there have been improvements made that makes these engines quieter and more durable during engagement vs the old ones.
The new ones look ok, sharper, tighter looking and more angular for sure which to me is the opposite of bloaty (that spaceship looking 8th gen sedan looked bloaty)... but thats just IMO. The sedan looks better overall and is good looking in red when seen in person
sick recording, sick sound, sick video. would like to see a perhaps a brz or something like that. blew my mind with headphones in
I love your videos, it gives a really great insight on what I want in a car im purchasing.
I was happily surprised by the test drive at my local Honda Dealer that I bought one after we returned to the lot. For the price, you really get a lot of car. If you didn't see the Civic label on the car, you would say that the car is pricy. I'm a 40+ man with a little experience driving a variety of cars and this car was the last car I Would have dreamed about purchasing. After my wife got a standard 2013 Civic, I scratched my head in disbelief regarding its handling, quality and looks I decided to check out the Si model. Si
I far, I can not complain one bit. My Accord has over 260k on it. Hope this can do better. I still have my 1998 Accord.
how do the rides of your civics compare to one another and how do you suppose they would compare to the ride of a 2012 or 2013 accord?
I love the si's specially the new sedans. I'm actually deciding to pick one up
@4:25 VTEC!!
this is a DOHC vtec motor but it only has vtec on the intake cam not both so you cant hear it. with an rsx-s style head these motors make more power
Can the back seats be folded down?
Great Job. The best review so far.
VTEC just kicked in yo!
VTEC kicked in yo!!
Sure does sound good for an I4. Anyone know if the car has an sound effects going on, i.e. sports exhaust, intake resonator, etc., or does it just sound good naturally? I know engines are Honda's strong suite.
No fake engine noise all real sound
YESS lol but fortunately not too many of those in my area
The Mazdaspeed 6 was limited to 155. I never hit it, no roads, but I did hit 135 in 5th and enough pull left I could believe it given enough road. It was a fun car. Mazda messed up and changed that body design too soon imo.
Love your videos - keep up the good work. Just a quick question: what shoes are those? They look fantastic and they have the rounded end like a driver's shoe. Would really like to know, thanks!
@Ronn Stacy the 0-60 time is about 6 secs or 5.9
lol your microphone and my headphones the trippiest shit
good point but you do atleast get benefits from the new one like a lighter chassis and a better engine with slightly higher hp and 40 more ft lbs or torque
Its simple it needs more power in stock form.
Pardon me...in my previous post I meant to say "Random twitches to the inside of a turn to get a wee bit of "oversteer." Can you handle one all hung out to the outside?
Which launch was faster?
With or without traction control?
Hmm what is the best car for daily driver, Civic Si or Focus ST (base models only)
love your videos!
Not to be a crank (ok, I am!), if these are retail cars, think about a new owner who faces 5 + years of payments for a vehicle that has had the snot driven out of it from the start. At least specify that these are not retail cars if that is the case.
Don't flatter yourself on your driving skills; you are neither smooth nor considerate of machinery. Anyone can stab, steer and hope for the best. Sloppy shifts, braking, random twitches to the inside of a turn to get a wee bit of understeer - : (
like the changes they made for 2013 but the sedan is much better
you can hear so much more road noise in this car compared to the last vid of the s5
why was there no exhaust revs or take offs?
I'm debating this car or FR-S with civic si theres more technology and you can fit people unlike FR-S just pure sports car feel.
Well...with 180 more horsepower than the Civic, I sure hope it would....but again, have fun breaking down, and have fun with your MPGs
what kind of camera are you using on your head? gopro?
Interesting and a bit amusing that my comment was banned for negative votes. It was honest and polite if not complimentary. I didn't realize that it was an offense to post a criticism, even if done politely. Again, apologies and no offense intended....
God dame I need a career so I can afford to buy this car.
Where are you placing the camera?
Above your head, on your forehead?
Just to get an idea of the of the real point of view.
whats better and why
VTEC kicked in!
Wish it was the sedan :( but awesome POV video any way.
My apologies if my last comment was sent as a reply to an unintended recipient. It was meant for "rxvexe" and not as an insult. Just stating my opinion as have you yourself.
i know, shoulda reviewed the sedan, atleast that looks a little better
Is it a problem with my Si or its almost impossible to drive smooth with the Ac on?
I don't have any smoothness problems with mine with the AC on. It's a 2013 Si.
neither do I. also a 2013 Si sedan. what problems were you having?
The AC in these cars seems to have an accentuated draw on the motor. When the compressor is on the draw on the flywheel makes the revs drop like a rock, which is starkly contrasted against the rev hang these cars normally have. You'll get used to the clutch timing, but the syncros feel stressed being shifted this way.
Doctor Ferdinand finally someone who understand my problem with this Si
It's probably my #1 complaint about the car. The thing that makes it so annoying is the inconsistency. It all depends on if the compressor is on, sometimes the revs float sometimes they sink. It's hard to get into a relaxed groove with it.
Well see the thing is you never really get the chance to go over let's say 70 mph on day to day driving so you'd have to really look for somewhere open and away from cops to have fun with your car while on the other hand on a civic you can have fun revving and shifting on day to day driving without worrying about going over the speed limit by like 20 mph lol .
It's a 13' but the 12' wasn't ugly. Just a downgrade from 11'
Yes!
Hey cuzo great job
No, this is a performance oriented car so a Manual is the only way to go
Judging by the license plate, it looks to be a press fleet car.
i wanted to ask americans, do those concrete lines slipping through tires ever get on your nerves?
have fun breaking down
i think you're the mad one
I don't recall your opinion being asked for either. We are all entitled to one. No offense intended.....
I really dislike where they've gone with the exterior styling
Anyone hear vtec kick in? this is far cry of what a high revving honda should be.....8th gen civic ftw.
if i had this si i would swap the k24 head for a k20 type r head
Somebody erase the entire chalkboard!!!!!!! I can't stand the horrible shifting and never getting past six grand!!!!
The short shifting in first gear and never revving in past 4 grand: I CAN'T STAND IT!!!!
for all that go for 2008 acura tsx manual trans or the last next second third generation always retro fitted still take that vehicle he drive reason for tech we love problems equals class in session money learning something evaluating problems for normal every day folks we understannd your
Not really interested in this new SI. Doesn't rev as high as the 2011s.
Coupe>sedan. 9th gen>8th. I still miss the rsx type s tho!
It's your money and your opinion. I have my own.....
4:58-5:07 Burning!
noob
Ariel Alejandro Barría A huge noob.
Very nice though
yes why shoudnt you
Does anyone here drive theirs in the winter?
Decent but I still prefer GLI
quieter I can see what you are getting at...but durable? That honestly doesnt hold any water with me/makes no sense.
There hasnt been a durability or reliability issue with any vtec system since 88/89 (whenever it came out).
The new car looks more like a whale(imo) Agreed on sedan looking better. Same with the 8th gen .
road full of bumps just like in Romania lol
MPH?
It varies
Ok, you're cool.
Sedan is so much better
That was nice
an Si with a lips spoiler is no Si
1:39 WOT R THOOOOOOOOOSE
First of all, love the vids. but I have a question....
Are the cars you review part of a press fleet or cars off the lot that are later offered as new?
Sure, I'm old fashioned but, taking a "green" car with nearly no mileage repeatedly to high revs, doing clutch drop starts and most annoyingly, repeatedly revving an engine to high rpm in neutral does not seem to be a recipe for beginning a long trouble free life with a new car. I would not like to purchase a new car that you had operated first.
he its like riding bicycle O__O
What are people talking about. the 6th gen civics AKA em1 and ej6 are uglier. The new civics look way better than all previous gens. Owning a ej1, em1, ej6, etc was cool back in the 90s and early 2000s, but now its just plain old and ugly. I see kids now drive those cars and the car is older than they are, not cool. Those cars are not classics and will never be on the level of worth as 60s muscle cars. Come on civics are mainstream mass production cars which worth less as time goes on.
The coupe is so ugly. I wish this was the Sedan.
Are you kidding the sedan is ugly as shit the coupe is beautiful!
Biddybalboa Haha, +4 comments to both of us. I guess some prefer the rounded body with thinner tail lights. I personally love the wider tail lights, but that's me haha.
Detroit Reppin
me too , just got my si today and its the sedan because the rear looks better. all about dat ass yo! lol
Steve Light Congrats man. Enjoy your new whip.
I with Biddy. The sedan is nice, but the coupe fixed up is more aggressive.
boring tell me when they decide to bring the civic type r over. if ford can do it yu can to honda get some balls! atleast bring back the s2000
you make it seem like people actually care lol
Kim
chevy volt.
3 gears to hit 60??? My Speed6 wouldn't do 60 in first, only 55 so I had to shift, but then 80 in 2nd, 105 third... This thing must suck zero to 60. Disappointed.
you are serious ? :*0
Civic
hey! its like LIKe o~O ride riding a bicycle ^__^
