This song is the sequel to “planets” by them, in which they talk about planets colliding and ending life as we know it. Acid rain is practically them floating in space, with death as the only ending. A truly emotion song. Check our planets if you haven’t! To get the whole picture!

I heard M shadows say he wrote this after watching the movie Melancholia, which is a terrible movie about the planet ending due to a collision with another planet. Although an awful movie, the concept is truly brilliant as we know about it before it happens and there is nothing anyone can do about it.

Such a romantic one
I like when people try to look deeper into a song but some bands, like A7X, just like to tell a story sometimes with no metaphors or anything like that. So for a moment I thought you guys were gonna try to analyze this like "what could the acid rain be referring to??" but it looks like you got the idea; Hail to the King and The Stage have a lot of story songs where if you're spending your time trying to figure out "what is this *really* about?" then you can easily miss out on the story they wanna tell. Sometimes, you should just let the lyrics paint a picture in your mind rather than try to write a book in it, you know?
Planets is the best example from HttK because it's another apocalyptic one but on a much larger and more epic scale, and Paradigm and Higher from The Stage are two more. Some people actually thought that Higher is yet another song about The Rev but the band themselves said it's not and to just take the lyrics as a tale of their own.
i be doing the opposite, and quite dislike it when people look to deep into a song, like i understand where you get it from but i prefer to think that when "death is riding into town with armor" an actual skeleton crowned king is riding into a capitals square with its army of demonic beasts following close behind, the people are horrified as the king reaches the now raided clastle, its second in command stands before the gates, he turns around and as he exclaims "Hail to the king!" all of the beasts kneel before his precense and the frightened humans are quickly prompted to follow his rule of terror, as the flags and banners surrounding the kingdom are swapped
