It's 2022, still rocking out to this I'm convinced Slash sabotaged the STP songs lmao. He sounded like a hot mess on those, but did what he does best on all the other songs. Bought both their albums and saw them a couple times. All of them have stories. RIP Scott

It was RIGHT after thier first album came out. They were so unknown still, they played in a place that only held 200 people. They rocked that night and the sound crew had them CD perfect. Scott now you can finally find the peace you fought your whole life, but thankyou for being such a huge inspiration to me growing up. I will forever be grateful for that. Rest in Peace my brother, love you m
+Kevin Gavalis Scott is amazing, if he wants to, he'll give it his best shot, if he doesn't, well, he might do some drugs and just be there for the money. Regardless, yess, he is one of the best frontmen in history, right up there with Robert Plant, David Lee Roth, Steven Tyler, David Coverdale, Ozzy, David Bowie -- this list goes on, but definitely on of the best. I really appreciate him in STP because they have the right sound for him, and he has the right sound for them. IF Scott has the physical strength to be on stage here with VR, then he would have the strength to be on stage with STP. He did the same things on stage with STP, so why bullshit Scott, what's the problem ? I know, you were on stage with "Slash", like it's a big fuckin' deal -- oh, and Duff. The only album they did worth anything was "Appetite For Destruction", all the other ones sucked balls. With STP, Scott and the boys did more than them. I, as well as a lot of other STP fans would like to see Scott back, but doing another heavier album like the first two, but be creative and don't just give us Punk Rock -- any fuck can do that. Scott and STP forever. Cheers

the fucking real deal, fully authentic rock music played live-- hats off to VR..what else, aside from family and friends and good health is there in this fucking crazy world?
they're were great because of his ability to the one badass frontman. ...he had a way with capturing his audience's complete attention. ..yes the musicans of ..STP &VR...had some great talent...but scott kept you entertained with his energy and vocals. ..rip scott..
I absolutely loved Scott, STP were a great band and he was a perfect front man for them and Velvet Revolver there will be no one to replace him. As for the copying people, if you watch interviews Bowie was a big influence which can't be a bad thing surely...
What a showman. Scott had such a musical range. He could take you from 0 to 100 in under 3 seconds and then back again. A lot like how he lived his life. You will never find another front man like him. I miss him so much. I always thought he would dodge the bullet. I was wrong.
Great performance and I agree shame another one of the rock front man greats has gone to the great big gig in the sky. Sure he is up there though doing karaoke with morrison, cobain and Jimmi. God bless them all.
That crowd really is lame.. it has to be disheartening even to these great accomplished musicians to be playing their asses off to a bunch of crash test dummies..lol..everybody go see the STP video of them headlining the Rolling Rock Town Fair in Latrobe in Aug. 2001 to see a hyped up daytime crowd...way better than these mopes..lol...I never saw Scott in person or even looked at a video, and had no idea of how great he really was.. I missed out greatly...than God for you tube..lol..
The sad thing is, before Scott passed away, a good percentage of the comments went like "Scott still doesn't know in which voice he should sing", "Scott should stop copying Mick Jagger's moves", "If it wasn't for Scott's gay antics, this band would rock", blablabla... And now that he died, it's all different? It's similar with many deceased musicians. Lot of hate during their life, and then with death they become outstanding prodigies. I liked this voice, his delivery, the moves, and the look right away and still do. If I hadn't, I still wouldn't.
YTOnceAgain you are ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!!! I loved Scott from day one...and gay moves?? fuck the homophobes.. he was a talented singer and a GREAT showman/frontman. His voice wasn't amazing but it was perfect for rock N roll. what people don't realize is that he was a dying breed. there are no frontman like him or Steven Tyler or Plant.
YTOnceAgain I agree. I think he was a cool frontman. I thought his voice, style, and moves were great for this band. Tapping into some Bowie, jagger, and plant. Good stuff
Best frontman and vocalist.. tried like hell to fight his demons, that doesn’t make him less than anyone. We all have our own troubles and sorrows..addiction is a Hell. Rest In Peace Scott. You’re finally at peace.
no me canso de ver la energia entregada por el gran scoot weiland, siempre me sorprendiste con tu carisma y frontman en el escenario.. vives en nuestro recuerdo scoot
Prime Scott, whole band kicked ass and that crowd barely lifted a finger throughout. Fuckers didn't realize they should have given the energy back to the band.
1:25 -sound-man figures out where to set the level for Scott"s mic. This happens usually because someone other than Scott himself did sound-check for that mic.
If they played early Sunday the crowd is just tired from days partying. But I remember watching them at Roskilde in 07 and this crowd remind me of that show. I believe people got confused about VR. Were they a band on their own or just a collaborative try to sound like GnR and STP? And the fact that by this gig (2007) classic rock like this was yesterday's news. VR sounded a bit like a band kicking a dead horse at the end.
I believe his value to me is the entertainment I receive watching and hearing this performance. His personal life, whether saint, sinner or whatever is actually of no revelance to me other than being denied further entertainment. S.W.'s personal failures, joys, wins, losses... well, that is his and those he chose to be around and those who chose to be around him purview. My judgement is about his art, and that, with the talent around him, gets an A+ from me. Anything else is none of my business.
Saw VR at The Palace of Auburn Hills in Michigan back in 07 I think it was. I've seen a lot of live shows, but nobody else has come close to the sound quality of that performance. It was perfect. Crystal clear, and full separation between the instruments. Weiland was the skinniest I've ever seen him, but good god was his voice strong and powerful. It's a shame they only made 2 albums.

VR was a favorite band . Scott was the perfect front man for VR . It was a shame they did not last longer . I took a sharp looking black leather jacket added a VR back patch a VR patch on the right shoulder and a skull and bones wearing a top hat with a Hollywood patch above on the left shoulder . I often get asked where I bought the jacket ? .

The new guy Jeff Goot deserves a listen. He does a fantastic job and is reverent to Scott which is important to me.
that's right! How many can say they've been a founding lead singer for not 1 but 2 legendary rock bands
Agreed. I miss Scott.. a lot. But Jeff is doing a great job and I really liked the new album.
