As a new web designer, I’ve used both Squarespace and Wix and so far I enjoy the creative flexibility Wix allows. I just find it easier to use for what I want to do.
Thanks for the great comparison - very helpful! I am pretty new to web building, plan to do it only for our own businesses and non-profit, and I am still leaning towards Wix. I think the fact that it might be slightly more cumbersome will be overcome quickly with use and the added flexibility will be appreciated down the road.
Within most social communities that I'm around, most people seem to prefer wix and the reason is probably the customization you mentioned.
I believe both are ok for web newcomers and then ultimately one can move to something more professional and custom.
Nice summary comparison. Really like how you delivered to comparison. Good job. I’ve been wrestling over which of these two. I signed up with Wix last year and found it easy to use, but had been told by several people to use SquareSpace. This helped me decide. Staying with Wix.
This is such a great video, thank you so much! EXACTLY what I was looking for
I’m a newbie and totally appreciate this video .simple is best for me at this time and this video made it clear to me that Square Space is the way I should go . Thanks
I was recently researching both of these options so your video contains a really great summary of comparisons of main features. Thanks.
Thanks for answering all my questions, well put together video, I love clarity 👍
Thank you for making the breakdown comparison easy to understand, Mike.
Phenomenal video, you really honed down on the categories that effect the day to day aspect of a business
Thanks for the breakdown. You made it easier for me to make the best selection for my needs.
Huge help. Thanks so much!
Really explained well. Great video. Thank you.
Such a great comparison job...thank you.
Thank you, great review of both platforms. God bless.
in my opinion, I used both I like Squarespace as the finish of the website is more professional and the pages run smoother. Although Wix is easier to use, I'm still going with square space just because it looks and feels more professional.
I am finding the same! Layout feels more effortless
Very informative. Well done. Thank you.
Thank you for the comparison. It helped me make an informed decision.
Thank you! Exactly the review I needed.
Thanks for this very informative video! Just wanted to ask if you prefer Squarespace over Wix when it comes to mobile view tweaking? I didn't see you do that when you were presenting Wix.
Hi Brian!
Thanks For This complete video about the two platforms keep going up:)
This was very helpful thanks so much
You and Nate always seem to upload the perfect video just in time for me haha
Excellent explanations Bro! Thanks ! Keep up the good work
Love your videos! Just the information I needed. Thanks!! I think for persons who aren't big tech nerds like me, square space is the right option
Great video. I love the conclusion at the end.
I was torn between both both of these options but after your video it's clear Wix is best for me. Great video, thanks
I am happy to hear this helped!
I started with Wix but I got stuck. The enormous amounts of customization was too hard to handle. I’ve never tried Squarespace and I will now try it.
And what did you discover?
That sounds like exactly what would happen with me. I don’t have time to F-around and that kind of thing also makes me crazy.
How was it? I’m in between Wix or Squarespace which was better?
@@YAAHURRRgo for squarespace - interface is more user friendly, and it’s easy to make changes. I find wix to be too messy with variuos features that you don’t need
I had (possibly?) the same problem with Shopify… or maybe not… I was told it’s super easy, but got too overwhelmed and I literally have PTSD from even mentioning the name!.. haha😅
I went for a “free” webpage design with Shopify, but realised that I wanted to make waaaay too many changes. I’m thinking that Squarespace might give me the same experience, so I’m gonna try Wix this time - wish me luck!
Excellent video!!!
great video, very informative
Question: can you build a website with squarespace & down the road move it to Wix?
I’m a bit intimidated by too much customization right now but may not be down the road. 😃
Excellent video still trying to decide. I was wondering which is better for selling Digital Downloads?( also, physical products and services) The answer will be the determining factor for me, As of right now I'm leaning toward Wix. Thanks in advance
Thanks for this video!
This is such a helpful and useful video! Can you pls let me know what version of Squarespace has the grid on it?
Hi Mike! Love your vids always! Thanks for the comparison, we're a nonprofit organization, looking at Wix as being more favorable, would love your feedback for nonprofits in this arena. Thanks!
Great video thank you
For my needs it sounds like Wix is the better option. But going to do more research before pulling trigger. Thanks for all the great information.
Very good and helpful. Still thinking which way to go.
Thanks for that info. Are the plugins and apps on wix extra $?
I really like the way you broke it down
If not mistaken all of Wix templates are free. As a Wix user for years (from their early beginning -Flash) I have not seen a paid template.
Having used both I hands down go with WIX
Thank you
Thanks for the info! I'm thinking of using Squarespace to build my website, but all of the pricing options show that it comes with a free one-year domain registration. I want to buy my domain name from a different site like maybe Hostinger, to keep my domain and web hosting separate and not bundled in one place. Does anyone know if Squarespace lets you decline their free one-year domain offer? Could I just connect my domain from Hostinger and put it as my primary one on Squarespace
Thank you for this helpful comparison. Which one would be better for someone experienced in HTML and CSS? And can the template images in both platforms be easily substituted with my own images?
I think on my Wix account I do see that option to add HTMS and CSS !
I wish you compared also things like stability of these tools, speed and customer service.
You're right, if you were to do so, what would you say is best?
@@kavanpuranik98 I haven't used squarespace. I have a wix website and I'm quite terrified with the customer support. Wix raised their prices this year. They're trying to have everything on their platform, but the things I use don't work well. When they added the new feature of having membership on your website I noticed because I was getting members- so they added not only the feature but also added it to my website. How crazy is that? I'm still on the look to switch to something else though
Yes, I would love the answer to those three categories! I often hear that wix runs slower
On SEO... Wix has different names per plan. ie: Light marketing suite, Basic marketing suite, etc. I assume this means less SEO for the less expensive plans. Is there a difference and does Squarespace do the same?
Thanks
Great video, I'll just try out both.. i need a good one for easy bookings and payment
wix also has that function !
hey, for affiliate marketing which one is better?
Hello, does anyone use either of these for their home bakery? I’d like to have sales and also take custom cake orders. Six has been overwhelming because of the customization but I’d like to know if there are any home bakers who use one of these.
I have built a website with ease on Wix, but the storage space their offer is poor a maximum of 50 GB, and that price is for businesses, the personal usage I use is 10 GB, and the max upgrades to 35 GB and you can't buy more storage. Come on, Wix, it's 2023. Give us more storage I really don't want to leave, but if there is no storage for photography, I'm off, sadly please add more storage options, 50GB max in 2023???
thanks for the comparison. i am undecided because i was hoping for cheaper otions but between these two, square would be my favourite.
I love getting lost in details and making my page as much to my liking as i want. but if this changes the moment, somebody uses a different screen ratio or a phone, all of it is lost. what good is it then, really? that - for me breaks the deal because it's 2023, not 2010, where using a phone for websites was kinda useless in general :P
How about support, which is better if you get stuck?
Does wix has email list like aweber ? I mean I pay aweber to collect email. If I do wix website will it come together?
I want a website to showcase my product but I want my orders to be done through phone call or text. I want my website more as general info for my product and than they scroll down and my contact info is there for orders. Which one do you recommend? And which layout?
Hello this is the decision I am trying to make up my mind. I see with wix once you pick template you are stuck with it, is that the same with square space ????
Great Primer on the two platforms, I liked it, but as usual with this stuff, I still feel 'adrift' as to the particulars as they relate to my specific needs.
The choice is 'easy' in that I'm poorer than dirt, and $16 a month is a cost I simply can't afford right now. Sounds ridiculous I know, but allow me to point out that the 'smartphone' I've used for the last 2 years was on the 'heavily discounted' cage area in Wally World (Walmart) at $75; a Motorola Stylus 4. $75 for me was a MAJOR cost given that about every other month to 3rd month, I get 'shut off' notices from the Utility companies; I'm physically impaired, on a severely limited indeterminate income ($4k most years), and on food stamps (for which I am blessed: I get to eat meat on a monthly basis because of them): thus, Wix having a 'free' site option that at least goes for a while, is really my only choice.
My LONG drawn out point is I don't have Widgets to sell: I have a book on Amazon I want to sell, but can't afford to advertise on Amazon. I have articles that I also can write, based upon the expertise of my education (History with specialties in Modern Russian/Soviet history and Modern African history), as they relate to Current Affairs. I'm almost ready to publish my Short Story Collection, so I'll have two books on Amazon, with 3 more to come in the next 6 months (drafts are nearly done, ready for editing).
Basically, I'm trying to get off of food stamps by accessing my knowledge and writing skills, and for that, I need to make my 'products' known. I've tried 'instagram' but the rain forests of the Amazon are more clearly laid out for 'easy travel' than instagram is. I've got a FB page up, but advertising on FB would cost a fortune I don't have as well, and quite frankly, I don't trust FB's 'record keeping' pertaining to costs, anymore than I would one of those colorful little tree frogs in the aforementioned Amazon, whose skin when touched, elicits a rather dismal end to the 'Touchee' as they might have said on Rowan and Martin's 'Laugh In'.
So, given the long winded informational I've provided you, is there a chance you can recommend which 'categories' and attributes on the 'free' portion of Wix I might look at and select, when I get started?
Thank you for reading my verbose missive; those of us trained as historians tend to be long winded, whether verbally or digitally (double entendre intended).
Cheers from the Oil Patch in Central WY
Actually the both have there main field of performing the best.
If you need help navigating through any of the Platform, send me a reply to help
Great products don't need advertising if you know what I mean.
Which one would you recommend for a new website for a bakery? I'm using square for payments.
I guess I would look at Weebly. They are owned by Square.
If I go with Wix, do I get domain, hosting security, SEO and optimization for mobile included? Are there calendars to choose from if I am renting cottages and just want to show when they are available/booked?
Yes. it has all the features. if anything remains you can get the extensions from its large library
Does anyone have experience or recommendations for someone who’s wanting to build a website to promote their podcast? Would love some insight!
💜🙏😏👍Thanks!
Do I have to buy a plan if I wish to sell Squarespace templates?
Is it true that with Wix you can only do 50 Blog Posts ? If so, how many with Square Space?
The only question I have so far is which one operates with Ecwid,if either of them do?
Do you have some videos about Duda??
I think Squarespace is a no-brainer.
I love tweaking stuff, but why waste time, when it comes in the box?
I guess its Wix for me. I like to tinker and have stuff look exactly the way I want.
You said Wordpress is best for blogs. What if you want a blog and a personal website to link your UA-cam channel too. Which is preferable? Wix or Squarespace. I’m paying a website developer and I’m still confused on which of the 3 to use : Wordpress, Squarespace or Wix. Thanks!
I read a comment now that said Wordpress is not user friendly for beginners.
Is it true that WIX will change the picture file's name? Cause that is not good for SEO.
The worst part is I got an ad for Sqaure space
Do we know which one will have a plug-in or système to accept BTC or Lightning?
sellix
Which one do you recommend that would hold lots of links? I want to create a community resource website.
Very nice and informative video
I need RTL support, just here for the entertainment 😎🍿
It's Hip to be Square
Ranking on Google is highly important
Do you offer services for website building?
is it true wordpress websites rank better on google ?
I think squarespace for the ease for us
WordPress is complicated? Thank you for the videos .
@ppl new thank you ! Appreciate your help.
does square space offer the mobile app feature?
Yes it does
These are for free or I have to pay
I start watching cause hes hot but its also helpful thanks
These are great tips! In a sense, both platforms have their own unique features and benefits. However, which one is right for you will ultimately depend on your specific needs and preferences. Wix is a more intuitive and user-friendly platform, making it ideal for those who are new to website design. Squarespace, on the other hand, offers a more flexible and customizable experience, allowing experienced users to create truly unique websites.
isnt it exactly the other way round? i think you are mixing those two up. have you even watched the video?
other way around bud
Wix is opposite of user friendly lol Squarespace is much easier to use
Square space customer service are not very tangible at all. I am looking to change
Eh what about having a GOOGLE BUSINESS, that will auto update the REVIEWS AND LATEST PHOTOS on your website AUTOMATICALLY?
Looks like SquareSpace is faster /easier for a newbie, no?
Yeah I believe so too, Square space is very beginner friendly, I personally started on Square space then moved to Editor X, which is more advanced. Never really used the traditional Wix, I just went straight to Editor X.
@@vivianokeke4867 thank you very much . Sorry for the late answer. Wasn’t notified /(

misleading title (2024) Not!
Amazing comparison 🫶🏻
I love Wix and EditorX. Somehow I never liked Squarespace. I tried it a few times, but it never felt right.
Wix/EditorX came a long way with their product and is super powerful. The only downside are the limitations of their blogging functionality. To circumvent that, I usually end up using BlogHandy for the blogging part of the website and Wix/EditorX for the website part.
