BlazerCinema420 Some guy was stalking Drift0r and there was a community of people saying Drift0r was delusional and that nobody was actually stalking him. Hey Driftor, I’m a long time lurker and I literally never comment on videos, but you struck a cord with me on this one. I’m currently at LSU pursuing chemistry (previously ChemE), and sometimes I get lost thinking about my future. I worry about not having opportunities in my chosen field and then feeling like a failure. While I don’t necessarily desire becoming a UA-camr, seeing someone with the mental capacity to earn degrees in engineering succeed in an unrelated field is reassuring to me. I’m sure there are others like me that watch you, so thank you

If you value mental health don't buy Black Ops Cold War. Playing these new CoD games (i.e. Modern Warfare) just gets my blood pressure going. Gone are the days when you can come back from a long day of work and play some casual pubs. Now every game you join you'll get matched up with some kid who plays 12 hours a day, snorts gFuel, and bunny hops in every gun fight like his life depended on it. I miss playing FUN games and not this eSport crap that every company is pushing.

I'm gonna lay it to you straight chief. I haven't played a COD game since I was 14. I haven't had the faintest desire to for over a decade now, but I've kept you subbed because you were someone who was willing to talk about addiction and familial abuse, your nightmares, philosophical positions, and articulate them in a collected fashion at a time when most of youtube was still just shitposts and 9/11 conspiracies; and I look back on those times fondly and am thankful for the positivity and introspection you put out into the world for others to find and make use of. especially at a time when I personally needed such guidance the most. You've demonstrated yourself to being quite an empathetic human being throughout the years and you are someone I am proud to have given watchtime to over the past 10+ years. Here's to many more.

The discussion around 25:30 is quite interesting. The idea of motivating yourself from a sense of responsibility for those around you is both related to traditional norms of masculinity, but it’s also a key idea in communal society (Marxist thought). This is one of the aspects of traditional masculinity that I, personally, don’t think we need to throw out with the bath water. We as people should try to help those around us; it shouldn’t be an explicitly male thing of course, but it needs men. This sense of community is partially in opposition to the traditional rugged individualism of masculinity, so I think a path forward is a synthesis of these ideas into the importance of community, gender aside, while also not defining manhood as dependent on such a singular measure.

I’d push back against the definition of toxic masculinity used. That sense of duty and responsibility to your family is the good part of masculinity. Toxicity comes when it isn’t benefitting anyone. If you were telling your wife that she cannot work and has to sit at home and clean (something I don’t think you do from watching you since BO2), then that would be toxic. Masculinity is required in a society (toxic even because we need to know hell is there waiting should we fail), and I’m afraid our tendency lately to label any kind as bad is going to hurt more people then help. Your desire to provide for and protect your family is the model kids should be seeing.

When I read the title of the video I thought you’re announcing a new podcast and when I realized that’s not the case, I got disappointed. Nonetheless I really enjoyed listening to this interview and maybe you should start a podcast - keep up the great work drift!

Some people are still in a delusion of gaming should take you away from reality. Using it as a safe space instead of pure entertainment, the mental health aspect will be dangerous to there health later.

drifter, your content is awesome, even the political stuff. I personally like it and I like your perspective on trying to understand others and have them understand you . I think this is ultimately the solution we're going to need to have if we're going to overcome our differences. Keep doing what you're doing!

I personally got influenced to wear a mask from hearing Driftor, and made me realize that it wasnt for my safety and that it's about the safety of others which I wouldn't have realized otherwise!

Yo Driftor my squad played your squad yesterday while you were streaming ! We were the squad with all the Harry Potter names , that was such an intense match man, well played. You camped in the little tower on cartel a bit but it’s okay 😂
