What's up everyone? I hope you enjoyed the video. A minor correction. Elevated Compassion gives Vigor instead of Quickness in PvP and WvW. So, ignore any references I make in the video to this build giving your team Vigor. Everything else is solid though :)
I've been running this build for the past few weeks based on your previous guide of the power herald and it's just marvelous. It allows you to do your thing while also helping out your team a lot. Love the fact that you made a new video to just showcase the simplicity of the change so people dont get discouraged by the changes. Can't wait until they lift the greatsword class restriction, it's going to make both Herald and Renegade feel more diverse. Perhaps you could revisit the Power Alac renegade with greatsword once thats possible?
I love how good this build feels to play while solo as well (not to mention how good it is in team content). You're right, the changes from the last patch are fairly simple to make. All you need to do is swap back to Berserker gear (which most people can easily get) and swap a trait. Herald is going to be absolutely amazing once it gets Greatsword. I'm keen to revisit Alac Renegade as well once the change comes though.
You can run a condi version too. Change devastation to corruption, vipers gear, mace axe weapons and run mallyx or any of the specific use legends stated on the vid. You will certainly miss using this build on chest train metas such as SW, AB, Tangled depths etc😅
Great point about the condi quickness build. It works fantastic in fights where you need more ranged damage because you rely heavily on shortbow. Great on Cosmic Observatory Challenge mode.
I run condi herald with nightmare artifact and greatsword/hammer. I can be a supporting tank or a bursting orb of torment. Perma swiftness and the ability of the shatterer being fear which synergizes with the torment I constantly apply. Plus every malyx skill heals me. If only I would get healing off of condi damage as well. I'm nearly unkillable in open world and most times I immediately res from downed because of all the torment I pulse everywhere
Glad you've found a build that's working for you 🙂 there's so many great survival traits in Mallyx that makes Condi Rev absolutely busted in Open World
Hey, new-ish GW2 player here. My first (and only) character was a revenant and I was using for the majority of time a power vindicator build. This build has more dps but i've been struggling with survivability, I think im doing something wrong because i feel like paper compared to the Vindicator build, also even tho you said the rotation is easy i cant seem to do it consistently while also looking for things to doge. Any Tips or advice? Thank you
Hey there :) Welcome to GW2! For some survivability tips you can: - swap Spirit Boon to Rapid Flow in Invocation for some extra sustain - swap Swift Termination to Dance of Death - Try and keep up protection and regen as much as possible with Facet of Light and Facet of Chaos - Try and break defiance bars on enemies as soon as possible so you can burst them down - Run the Jalis Legend so you can use Vengeful Hammers which is an incoming damage reduction for you. - You can also swap to staff and autoattack for some decent healing as well.
Its funny because mostly i play vindi. i wanted to switch for herald because boon support and sword/sword playstyle (i finally unlock bloodflame sword like in your video) and whats now? its seems like in new expansion herald will be better with gs instead sword/sword 😂 anyway great video, i learned a lot about herald gameplay.
You actually have tons of room to change your rotation because of how much you overcap Quickness. There are a lot of different combinations of Facets that will let you pulse Quickness in Glint as well. Just be consuming 6 or more energy.
Thanks so much :) For now Power Alac Renegade is still perfectly up to date (you can check out my previous video for that). With the expansion launching next week it looks like both Herald and Renegade might want to use Greatsword but everything else should remain the same.
I just started playing gw2 and I'm wondering what's the difference between power quickness herald and just power herald? Is it just switching Forceful Persistence to Elevated Compassion?
Quickness, fury, about 20 stacks of might, regen and swiftness. You can also choose to trade some buffs for protection. if you run rune of strength on your armor you can hold 25 might without any issues even if you swap out of glint by extending boon duration with faucet of nature.
@@assassinate98 see, I run a celestial herald. If you can keep all that up without boon duration, you can probably keep up protection too with celestial, which is impressive as hell.
you dont need strength runes for solo 25 might, just run incensed response. We already get a lot of free might from shared empowerment. you lose too much damage swapping off scholar for strength runes to be worth it. you can keep up prot even in full zerker so of course you can in celestial. In cele, with this build, you're just accepting a big damage loss for a little bit better regen, not worth it.
Sure thing :) On champions it's good to break the CC bar first with Staff 5 + Glint Elite then start bursting them down. Try and save the Glint heal for when you take a large burst of damage (for a massive heal). If needed you can swap to Staff for a little extra sustain as well. Basically though you want to break the cc bar and burst as fast as possible. If you're really struggling then if you have some Celestial Gear then Cele Herald is basically unkillable.
It will play just like Sword/Sword but better in every way. Less energy requirements (the skills are slightly cheaper overall), does more damage and has a better block. Easy win.
Man.. fun build to mess with- but good lord can I not understand the facet use. I have 4 screens up with all the different mini rotations.... i just dont understand why rotations in this game have to be so involved. Suppose I like reactionary play more- (healers and such)
You can simplify the facets section even more if you like: - Use Facet of Strength and Elements as you enter and exit Glint - Keep up Facet of Darkness and Chaos to pulse Quickness - Double Tap Facet of Nature at any point to extend boons - Use Sword 2, 4 and 5 off cooldown The rotation shown in the video is basically that just refined as much as possible but those rules form the base of it.
@@connorconcarne Thanks for this! I did end up putting a couple hrs on this with some metas and it DID feel pretty fluid with some work! Did a couple of strikes and LOVED being able to just use abilities to provide quick... something I wish was more innate for all classes for alac/quick.
Generally I try and count to three in my head in time with the autoattacks. You can also try and recognize the animation for the third attack as well. It takes a little bit to get used to the timing.
@@connorconcarne I was researching this same topic and someone said that very often the final attack in your auto-attack chain will make a slightly but discernibly different sound for you. I've been doing a bit of testing with this on my scourge and it feels true ion that class so I'll be testing this on more classes. The difference in sound is so much easier than counting.
Elevated Compassion pulses Quickness in PVE and Vigor in WvW and PvP (small mistake in the video). If you're in those game modes you'll see Vigor instead of quickness.
Herald is the only correctly designed offensive DPS. It's extremely fluid, fun, and feels impactful. The other classes need to be buffed to it's level of fun and strength - buffers shouldn't feel like trash to play or require specialized gear like alac mirage.
They do seem to be making offensive support builds much more accessible for players lately. Harbinger, Deadeye and Herald all don't require any extra boon duration to function which is amazing for newer players to gear. Alac classes do need a look at though to make them feel more impactful while solo. Quickness builds feel great to play alone. Alac builds not so much.

Absolutely! With Greatsword it's going to be even better than it currently is.
hello thank you for the video can you tell me what class you play in the video thank you
Sure :). I'm playing Herald, which is an Elite Specialization for Revenant.
Will this build still be full berserkers on SOTO launch?
Almost certainly. Unless there are some unannounced changes the gear should not change at all.

Absolutely, Power Quickness Herald is still probably the single best Quickness provider in the game.
Yes it is. I run it alot ^^
