A brief look at downtown Des Plaines

The Metropolitan Square development in downtown Des Plaines represents an extensive makeover of an inner-ring Chicago suburb. The development comprised offices, retail, dining and residential components and significantly changed the downtown area.
I stopped on a sleepy Memorial Day weekend Sunday for a brief walk around downtown, and a look at what the planners call "transit-oriented development."

My granddad was born and raised in that town. He lived the majority of his life there, before moving to Texas after he retired in the late 1970s.

En el centro de Des Plaines está la Library, La Estacion del Metra y diferentes buses, esta el periódico De los hermanos Wessel (Tom Red, Bob) The Journal & Topics, la tienda de abarrotes mejicana, un cine, un centro comercial frente a la Estacion del Metra, una tienda Rolex, la Walgreens, una tienda de impresiones para cuadros.
Muy bonito suburbio y muy integrado tenía muchas empresas como Joule, Kmart, Macdonals, Comida China, Dominicks, Aldi Food, Auto Zone, el Lago en la Av Lee, Kentucky Freed Chicken, Joe Caputto, el Centro Civico y la Estacion de Policía etc etc
