Ck is the king of comedy. This skit is a work of genius. Every detail is thought of, every inflection, every word , every intonation is engineered. CK will always set the bar for future comedians.

People forget that this is an art form. He may be talking about his feelings, or he may have made it all up.

Even if he made it all up, he felt it on some level--as have we all, or at least something vaguely similar--that's how we can relate to his comedy.

My favourite little bit of this is the throwaway apocalyptic scenery he jumps in and out of at 1:30. Incredible. That can probably be a whole solid Louis CK 3-minute thing but he just sprinkles it in.

Which is an absurd thought, but also a compassionate one...he represents for the broken, the cracked, the ugly, the silly, n the vilified among us. Sharp n jagged as a prison shiv, Louis C.K. leaves no man behind in his comedy, so to speak.

@@Jupitertvv stanhope seems like a nice guy, but i wouldn't recommend him to people that get offended by dark humor. I know him from when his jokes were stolen by jim jefferies.
Doug Stanhope is a comedian who doesn't limit his comedy to the feelings of the weak. if he's telling a joke, he thought about it and decided it was funny enough to himself and was worth sharing.
Doug has a philosophy that goes "if you think it's funny, just say it." and he qualifies it with "no matter the situation." admitting that it's sometimes a bad idea but when it works, it's for life.
Doug is a comedian i recommend regardless of the moron i'm suggesting it to. Stanhope is one of the best, most thoughtful underrated comedians who should be praised for his jokes. i've loved this mans comedy for a long time. if you're not sure about his comedy, i implore you to read his book "Digging up Mother" which is pretty much a crash course in "why i'm funny". check out his books, his comedies and interviews. he's a swell guy who only wants to make you laugh.
the dude above me labelling Stanhope as a "dark" comedian, is insulting to the craft. Anthony Jesselnik is a Dark comedian. Doug isn't "dark" he's just open about what he considers to be funny.
Jesselnik tries to upset you, knowing fully well that you should only be listening if you're willing to be exposed to that sort of comedy. Doug is NOT a dark comedian. it's only "dark" if you're so wrapped up and sensetive, you find it "dark" when he's telling jokes about something you happen to enjoy/like or do.

I'm from India and I really laugh aloud at your speech. You don't joke, you tell the truth but you put it across in a rare strange way with s bit of anger in you and it makes it super funny.

This is comedy genius. What is not genius is how we process sexuality in our culture. We want to condemn offenders, and rightfully so, but we also don't know how to have really honest conversations in every sense. Louis is doing God's work in this stand up. If he abused his power, that should be a conversation that affirms the legitimate victim, and a conversation that peels back the layers of hypocrisy that defines our cultural behaviours when it comes to sex. I'd like to hear from women comedians, including those who have a history with CK, about their opinion on his life work and its future.
I foresee headlines of him coming out in the future. Definitely my favorite comedian.
I lost it when he started talking about the turtles. It felt like the perfect hyperbole for the guilt I experience for enjoying ridiculous fancy and expensive shit.
