I remember when Conan first aired, my friend and I were laughing hysterically. We quickly realized Conan was for kids up late, it was glorious.

Around 18 i was working night shift and watching conan every night! I still remember the rock'n'roll feel that anything was possible and laughed a lot! After that (later) it was Jerry Springer...glorious era my friend! :) Still a huge Conan fan...

Seriously appreciate this channel's content. I'm a big CK nerd and love listening to these interview deep cuts. There's a tremendous amount of wisdom and originality in his thinking and creative process; his conversations with Maron on WTF in particular.

His conversation with Maron was so great it really stuck with me after listening to them brutally reminisce. 😂

Note to SNL: You can't just put anyone in a goofy hat and expect a sketch to go viral.

You need to find the clip of Louie on Conan where he gets serious and reveals how he was on the edge of killing himself, actually planning he logistics out, feeling that his comedy career was over (I think after being the only person not hired from a large group signed to SNL possibly?). This confession happened during a "Late Night" interview (not the TBS "Conan" show) and Louie thanked Conan because he got the writing job offer days or perhaps one week out from the day he was actually planning on ending his own life. It's one of my absolute favorite clips for how raw and real it felt but it was taken down off UA-cam and I haven't found a re-upload of it since then. Conan ended with a fairly genuine "Oh my god" reaction to Louie saying Conan saved his life, suggesting that Conan never heard that story until Louie was telling it on the show at the very end of the interview. I always still look for that clip but can never find it anywhere, all I ever see are more comedy-centric Conan interview clips of Louie.

My favorite Louis story is, he said he had a complaint from a female audience member who didn't like him jerking off in front of her in a room backstage. The owners of the club stopped him about the incident & Louis said bring up the contract for tonight, when they did he had ticked the box "Performance Artist" so it actually covered him from performing any lewd acts in front of a paying audience member under the 1st amendment rights. Absolutely brilliant Louis.
