Not as much as you'd think actually, although you are correct. The wind plays a huge part as on my YBR 125, I can sometimes get to 120 when there is no wind, and on some days not even 100 full throttle
No, there was no wind. Everybody makes video, when they riding downhill or with some upgrades. This ybr 2013 year brand new, run only 900 kilometers. There is no upgrades, but my weight is 108kg (or 240 lbs)
@Valvelto Gamer I have a 2006 one and it's also stock. I could do 120 km/h on it. The weight is really important I am 66kg. 😂 My friend could only do 110 with a 2016 one because he is 97kg
Ybr 125g for me is one the best motorcycle in 125 category.i got mine. 8 years plus from now still best. Engine is in Standard. Still fighting for the Best
I have the 2014 model and downhill on a good day with the wind behind you it's possible to get a touch over 75mph, rider of around 11 stone. Climbing up a hill causes a huge loss of power though, it's hard to keep it at 60mph even in fourth gear and hitting the redline. I know it's only a little one piston four stroke but this to me is the biggest weakness of the bike, along with the stock tyres which don't grip as well as I'd like (just lean into the corners more). Still, it's a comfortable rider nearly impossible to stall with very forgiving handling, and gives you a taste of what biking is all about... you'll know within a week or two of ownership if you'll need a bigger bike. Sounds nice pulling away in third when the engine is around 3,500rpm, really gutsy for a 125cc. Lack of a sixth gear is a problem, even stock I swear that little engine could just about top 80mph in short bursts though that skinny single front disc is going to struggle to stop you, stomping hard on the back will just lock it and throw you off. It's a mixed bag but yeah, the Yamaha YBR125 is a lot of fun even for a daily commute.
In Pakistan ( extremely hot weather 48c) usually we do following tweaks to improve cdi, carbureted, 125cc yamaha ybr, 1. Hi resistance, pointy spark plugs ( iridium, platinum) . 2. Remove any air restriction(just to make bike a bit silent) after air filter. 3. Use 70/30. Hi-octaine/regular ratio.( Asian model has compression ratio 10:1 for that definitely a correct ratio will make difference. 4. Free flow exhaust. 5.never mess with bikes, primary, seconds ratio and chain drive let it stock for better acceleration. Result = 115km straight seating. 130km tucked down.
Just passed my CBT and bought one of these today, new, picking it up in 10 days or so. You reckon it'll last me a good 4 years or so till i have the experience for an FZ1? (That's my dream bike ATM xD)

My 2013 model goes 120 on the needle, on flat road, with little to no wind and a full tank. On summer tires, only fitted a windshield over the headlight. A downhill section to help it up there is good, or else it would take forever, or maybe never ;) But since it shows +5 km/h means that it runs 115 km/h on flat road, I guess you could reach an actual 120 or even 125 if you have the wind on your back and downhill for a good while. But you would also really be pushing it. The bike feels great up to speeds of like 100km/h which is also a fairly easily optained speed for my bike atleast.
