We just bought the new 2017 CRV AWD LX model and absolutely love it! Plenty of power, style, comfort, refinement, and upscale soft touch interior and build quality. We both drove EX and LX models comparing the good and not so good qualities. My impressions and thoughts leaned me towards the LX. We liked the wheels and simpler controls with the base model. Owning the previous generation 2012 CRV LX I can say that the increased engine power and C.V.T.'s precise shifting is silky smooth, more powerful, And refined. Zero to sixty is 9.0 seconds for the 2012 and 7.7 seconds for the 2017. It's bigger in all dimensions but adds no additional weight, More Performance but less gas consumption, Has no fussy gas cap to deal with. LED daytime running lights, turn signals, And Tail lights. Handling and corner performance is Hugely improved. We feel like we are driving a luxury vehicle now. (Is this an Acura?) It has rear vents, a center arm rest, And climate control! No regrets in our purchase of the brand new CRV!

I'd be happy to see a 2.0 litre turbo with a 6 speed auto. Is an extra 1-2 miles per gallon that critical?
How is speed off the line slow compared to other SUVs in its class when the CRV has the fastest 0-60 time in just 7.5s compared to RAV4 8.4s and CX-5 8.4s? You aren't driving a Ferrari or sports car here. It does what its made for well.

Just got a new crv with this type of transmission. Im not a car guy so im wondering if somebody could answer me this..
Is it normal for this transmission to jerk around 13-17 when reducing and accelerating during traffic? It jerks like 2-4 times, its very annoying. :/

You say it doesn't have rapid acceleration ....but Doesn't it have the fastest 0-60 in its class though..?

The alloys on the Touring trim is ugly! The entry trim wheels look better

Three things to consider. One, the turbo engine. It is brand new and hence we do not know if it will be reliable in the long run. Moreover, turbo engines require new driving habits (for example, longer warm up and cool down). Second, the crv is bigger, yet again. Reviewers almost always mention this as a positive. However, I'm not convinced it needed to get bigger. I own a CRV and find that it is big enough. Third, del lights are available only on the top trim. In comparison, the 2017 CX 5 has del lights standard. It will be interesting to see how the fare in the tests of the Institute for Highway Safety.

Ronald, I think your views are quite outdated. There was a time when turbo engines did have quite different driving habits. This simply isn't the case in modern turbo cars. You can drive the naturally aspirated CRV just the same way as you'd drive the turbo version.
Ronald Morris turbos dont require different driving, especially not on a car designed for the masses. this isnt the 80s
should have 2.4 turbo instead of 1.5 turbo
