    Excellent! Best CT thru-hike on UA-cam. Great job! Lots of great shots and very little commentary. Loved it!

      Thank you, glad you like it. I prefer not to add music to let the beauty and sounds of the trail speak for itself, feels more natural.

    I’ve never had the urge to buy a drone…holy shit! Incredible shots! I’m hopping to do the CT again in the fall. What drone? Any recommendations? Charge off battery brick?

    • @Ratatrail
      @Ratatrail  6 місяців тому +1

      Thank you Moran! Bringing a drone gives you an unparalleled perspective but it's a burden to carry and you have to be careful if you are in a wilderness area because it is prohibited! It’s the DJI mini 3(small and lightweight) with the Fly more kit(2 extra battery including the case to carry it)
      I brought two 20 000mah batteries(Anker) one for the drone and the other one for everything else!
      They have now the DJI Mini 4 pro(not sure there’s a big video quality difference between them)
      Happy trails! 🤘🏻

    • @rmoran113
      @rmoran113 6 місяців тому

      How many battery charges you get w the 20,000 mah battery bank? Are they fairly easy to fly? I see some have crash avoidance

    • @Ratatrail
      @Ratatrail  6 місяців тому +1

      @@rmoran113 If I remember correctly I was able to charge the drone battery pack(3 batteries) almost twice with a 20,000mah.
      It’s easy to control but you need to practice quite a bit before getting started. The mini 3 pro have some crash avoidance sensor but its not perfect, you need to be really focused when you fly it!

    • @rmoran113
      @rmoran113 6 місяців тому

      @@RatatrailI’m also a weight conscious hiker… wouldn’t it be better to just leave charger and charge in drone? You recommend remote with screen or use cell phone?

    • @Ratatrail
      @Ratatrail  6 місяців тому

      @@rmoran113 This is a good idea for weight savings but sometimes I’ve drained one and had to take another one right away, I need to be sure I have more than one…it all depends on how much you’re gonna spend time flying it.
      Remote with screen is also a faster way to connect to the drone and save battery drainage of your cell, I can’t go back to the old remote without the screen.

      It will be hard for you to get lost, the CT is very well marked, I still had to check FarOut app a couple of times just to be sure.
