    Decided to make a quick video of me speaking Finnish as some people request in every once in a while.
    Thank for you all the support so far!
    Btw I got the FC Barcelona shirt as a souvenir from my gf after she visited Barcelona.

    About the income: at the moment I still make very little income and is comparable to a very poorly paying job. I can pay my bills and get by but to make it sustainable, I still need to work creating more revenue.
    That's the reason why I bring this topic up.
    Hyvää juhannusta! Happy midsummer!

      I understand Aleksi! I'm suggesting this because this will boost Your viewership, subs, & ultimately income. There are thousands upon thousands of people who would tune in to You if You included some Finnish Racing History along with Your wonderful content! It's a huge part of Finland's character! I believe You're the perfect person to share this with Your fans & attract new ones with Your ultra fun presentation & presence. I bet if You reached out to Mika Hakkinan he would do an interview. A Finn interviewing a Finn. You could speak Finnish, English, or both. You both also have a wonderful sense of humour!! A change of scenery would be a good change for You also. Very much interesting fun to be had!!
      Please Pardon the pep talk! I & so many appreciate & believe in You Brother & want the very best for You & Yours! Thanks for replying & all the very best along Your way! Moi! 🙏💖

      I think street interviews are great and it's what people want since we can't travel, at least for now. I'd also suggest replying to less comments but giving a proper reply instead of just a short answer which is very cold, ok good luck Aleksi!!

    Hei Aleksi, thank you for this video! I am very enamored by a full Finnish video and I enjoy listening to your Finnish speech. As far as I am concerned you can do Finnish videos on any interesting subject (yes, this is a subjective category). It may sound weird, but I would appreciate subtitles in Finnish, which I can use to import into my language learning tool. I do the same for Yle Rec episodes, for example. They provide only Finnish subtitles, which I am happy with. You could use the Finnish subtitles in for example "deeplearning" or google translate to translate to English. That way it might take less time to create English subtitles. They might need some correction, obviously. Personally I do feel a pang of guilt as I only contributed a little (by buynig the housing advice guy "micasa"). I only follow the youtube channel (none of the other channels. To get an idea of which channels your audience uses, you could put out a poll.. Lots of luck determining what you want (and please don't burn out .... ).

    • @Kerppu68
      @Kerppu68 Рік тому +1

      Should the Finnish subtitles then be the exact as it is spoken? The difference between the spoken and literary Finnish is quite big. Mullon = mulla on = minulla on

    • @AJBonnema
      @AJBonnema Рік тому +1

      @@Kerppu68 Good question. If you look at Yle Rec you see that they speak puhekieli but transcribe more or less as kirjakieli. Sometimes some of the words are completely different. Still, that is better than no transcription and it really helps me. So, if the transcription is literal, that would be fine. However, if something like mullon in speech would become mulla on in the transcription, I would love that too. You see, most puhekieli is in some manner related to kirjakieli (as kirjakieli was derived from the "average" of puhekieli). So, in short, I would say, I would agree to either literal or slightly modified, as long as the transcript is recognizable in the speech. By the way, standard puhekieli, like mulla on or mä oon, sä oot etc really does not need transliteration to kirjakieli. Worst case, if a word is really different, I could ask in comments what it means. Thanks for the query.

    Great video Aleksi! Try and take care of your mental health! I am trying to reduce social media for this year. I still want that Certificate in Digital & Social Media and become an Eco-Blogger but it's on pause this year. I am trying to avoid it because of the news in Ukraine mostly. I have ancestors that left Eastern Europe Notably Ukraine and Poland for similar reasons. Also, My family, & I lost our grandfather a few months ago, so, I am just focusing on trying to get back to normal. I just finished a course on bereavement Introduction to Thanatology and am taking Humanistic Psychology. I was going to wait until Fall but, I wanted to try and get back to some sort of normal and see if, I could balance two languages at once. I am hopping if the "you know what" is not bad that, I can take that Ornithology course in Winter Semester when it's offered and Intro to Philosophy in the Fall, if I am up for it. I have been wanting to take that for a while now. Before, I get the "it does or does not exist" comments, it does not mater. If the school says, I can't be there, I can't be there plain and simple!

I really enjoy the funny Instagram reels you make about finnish life, but I also find it super useful to have a reel like you posted yesterday with aikoa. Finnish books are useful for learning, but sometimes there's so much information that I need a "refresher" on the simple things. maybe you can start "series" of things! 1 time a week you could post a verb and how to use it in a sentence, and the rest of the time just do what you want!

    Since it is Summer and time to have some fun, have you thought about getting some friends together at someone's flat with your cellphones and putting on a play using the flat as your stage and just whatever you have to hand for props and filming it as a movie? There have been several big-name actors in the US who have done that, and it went over very well., A few have done Shakespeare's plays, and those were very popular. It would be great to see Shakespeare in Finnish.

    Hello Aleksu, I recently saw your videos and I can understand your situation.
    Here is my suggestion. I am regular viewer of youtube vlogs. I have been watching Canada, Europe and Helsinki vlogs of many youtuber’s. And its true the most least views are of Finnish content. I analysed this and found out there can be multiple reasons for this. There is less immigration to Finland than other countries like Canada or Germany. There are less opportunities here. Also people don’t watch vlogs here because the process is quite streamlined here. There are still many topics on which there are no youtube vlogs for foreigner like step by step guide for buying Real state, how can you travel cheap from Finland to other European countries and so on.
    My suggestion to you would be to start exploring other countries from Finland specially eurozone and focus how can you travel cheap from Finland to other countries. FYI if you google Finns travel the most in the whole world.
    Now you have Ryanairways flying it sometime supercheap to fly from Helsinki. Also you must open another channel which is Finnish. This way it will help your to content to reach larger audience.
    Let me know if you need to discuss this more I would be happy to share my experience as a foreigner in Finland.

I thought I would get some Spanish DNA though as my country was a former Spanish colony. But watching your videos made me realize how close my personality is to Finnish culture. Being an introvert in a warm tropical extraverted country, I thought I was just weird and don't belong. It turns out I just have this part of me that's different from the rest of my countrymen. I'm interested to learn more about Finland and the 0.07% Finnish people of the world population.

Like, I still watch Jacksepticeye off and on except, the thing that was distracting were those daily gaming streams that stream live 8 hours a day and videos would play in the background on UA-cam and, I would always see and be tempted to watch them. It was hard at first but, I un followed most of them. I missed being part of the community and the conversations so, it was difficult but it was necessary because it was becoming an un necessary distraction. Perhaps look for more affilate marketing and brand deals to put onto videos, relating to the messages you already send. Language learning applications, perhaps look into starting your own application?
    Maybe create some subscription courses. Have you tried doing private lessons and recording them for content?
    So many options but seems your mind is flooded with work. You don't have the relaxation time to become creative and think of ideas and rather you are spending your time doing current ideas instead of thinking of new and additional ones?

    "Midsummer is all about relaxing and taking it easy" Uff, tell this to my 4 year old. We had all the 3 days full planned, there was no relaxation 🤣 I feel like we went from one fun park to the next one, she wasn't tired, but I was xD Uimaranta, one full day Särkäniemi, going to metsä, playground,... I'm still tired from it xD I'm not an entrepreneur and don't know how hard it is, but for example, and I think I can talk for others too, some people are only here on UA-cam, like me, some people may only look at Instagram, and probably a lot have both. So if you would do only Insta, I couldn't watch things from you anymore, unless I make an Insta account, which I have somewhere, but couldn't get into it. Since you do this full time, you could also speak about the tax ? I have always wondered, if you are an entrepreneur, how much tax do you need to pay to the government? But maybe you have said it somewhere already. Hope you had a great Juhannus and oh boy, how hot it is now in Finland, I'm melting here in Tampere 🥵
