I am an 'older' woman who has always seemed to have found myself on my own (raising 3 boys in the process) I pride myself on being self sufficient like you, managing a ranch and household for years by myself and even through cancer. Although I've had to say goodbye to my beloved horses and ranch, I can't tell you how much you keep me motivated and inspired. Sometimes I wish I was 20 years younger because I envy your travels...I just wanted to say that you are such an inspiration to women like me. We have lived our lives but sure do enjoy seeing women like you 'go for it'. BTW I have one of your Seaham necklaces and treasure it.
Dry stone diking as it is called up here in N. East Scotland is an art form in itself. And as you state find suitable layers of stone, takes ages then has to be transported to the site before work can commence. Farmers used to use squads of up to 6 men and boys and a typical farm field would take approximately a month to complete in all weathers. Times were tough in them days but many fields are surrounded by them same dry steen dykes as we call them to this day.
I feel like everyone could've been like this, if we weren't broken by the education system, by television, parents too. If we were taught STUFF, skills, creativity, instead of useless subjects, maybe we all would've been this daring, this enthusiast, this creative, this lively...
Greetings, Marina! It is so inspiring watching you creating your cosy home by managing your projects step by step😊 Such a nice fossil, the shell imprint. Geology rocks!
Wauw Marina. I think I have a good day if I walk my dog and make some art. You are so inspiring, I love your energy and commitment to your projects despite cold weather. Drystone walling, cutting down trees, building furniture, making compost heaps, removing soil phew! More power to you. You are incredible. ❤️
I was so engrossed with the wall building I almost forgot the small item of furniture you did for starters! Then you decided to just cut a few more trees when you needed to give your back a rest! ALL of the things you do so quickly would take me hours and days - hats off to you wonderwoman
I’m so glad another dog is temporarily homed with you, he’s a lucky boy :) . Your title of this video us wrong it should be I can do anything it just takes longer on my own. Much love xx
We did not realize what a gorgeous view you have from your house, nice mountains. Your new dog Bilbo? Seems such a nice dog. That wall looks like a big job a month or so. You can do anything, you are amazing!!!
I thought you were about to wipe out the camera when you dropped the tree! There are piles of rocks dotted around my place and I thought about building a wall before. Did a couple of garden borders and decided that was enough - your job tells me I was right to stop where I did. Yours will look good when it’s finished! I saw a dry ‘stone’ wall that was built from old wine bottles of all different colours and then framed in with wood - they positioned a light behind it to illuminate all the different coloured bottoms of the bottles - was very cool.
Curious how many of your foster pups have found their home through your channel vs through the organization they are with. ☺️ Love watching your vlogs and all your projects!!
What a fantastic video, how I admire your strength and fortitude!! And Bilbo is absolutely adorable; he is so fortunate to have a wonderful stepmom like you to care for him. All the best from Canada xo
Yay Marina is back! 🎉😅Thanks, I enjoy watching your vids so much! I'm ofc totally ignorant about stone walls, but it might be helpful to you to see "Project Portugal" ch., that guy is so good in stone works, especially, walls! All the Best! 👍🐾🐕❣️
Hello from Michigan! 5° this morning, but at least you can't see my breath inside the house! 😆 I was just wishing you'd post something and there you were! Love watching what your projects are. Take care of your back, Janice
Hey marina, I’m sooooo impressed with your skills on anything you put your hands to, one minute your building a shelf unit and the next your putting up a dry stone wall 😂. Your determination to put your mind to just get the job done is amazing😀. Your such a beautiful and intelligent young woman, and the new doggo is so cute 🥰
my mum learnt pottery in her late 40’s. she was self taught . she made beautiful pots, kitchenware, vases and learnt to make her own glazes and also purchased a kiln to fire her pots #inspiration :) keep going with all your projects they are all wonderful and infused with feminine power 👏🏼❤️💥💃🏼
Hi beautiful young lady, my property sits on a site that used to be a quarry and I managed to salvage enough rock to build three dry stone walls. These are only about 18 inches high no where near the wall you are building, so impressed with your wall so far, I know it’s hard work but have every confidence in you. Keep well and safe, Tony from the UK. x
My wife's seaglass necklace arrived safely in the UK yesterday, and it's even more beautiful in real life than in the photo on your etsy store. She can't wait for her birthday now! Thank you Marina!
You are a marvellous example of what can be achieved if you simply try hard enough. Thank you so much and the very best of luck with all your endeavours.
Love your spirit! Your fostering is so sweet-it’s wonderful to see the affection between you and the lucky dogs who come to stay with you! Your rock wall is amazing-talk about sweat equity!
Thanks for a great video! Wheel throwing! I had the opportunity to take a few college classes at a wonderful ceramics college. My tips (if it's helpful to you) are to use less water, especially if it's splattering. Go on the slower side until you get used to changing speeds, and don't advance until your starting dome is completely centered. Keep your upper body closer in to the wheel and use your shoulders and ab muscles. Also keep your arms tucked in and more rigid. This will give you more control. You might want to practice with just straight up and down cups before pulling out to a bowl shape, because the momentum of pulling out is more challenging. It starts to click after a while. That's great that you got a wheel for so cheap! Enjoy!
Hello from British Columbia Canada 🇨🇦👋🌲..loved that last clip cry of anguish 🤣🤣🤣🤣! Took a pottery class...1979? As part of my degree. I had 2 young children at home and purchased a kick wheel so I could practice at home. My younger daughter painted the tv screen with slurry. With a kick wheel, the speed is infinitely variable...we all started on the kick wheel.🥰🙈🙉
In my experience, throwing pots is like bicycle riding - very frustrating in the beginning, but before too long something will just click and you will have success. There is a lot of "muscle-memory" involved, and then your hands will get the hang of it and know how to handle the clay. I too am impressed with all the activities you take on.
HI Marina so nice to see you, l guessed you were taking a break, you deserve it for sure. You'll be needing another break after building that wall 😁 your shelving unit is lovely and really suits your room. What a gorgeous dog Bilbo is, l hope he stays for a while. It's strange how all your dogs sound the same when they speak 😉😁💖 take care Alioban xx
Great your back! 🧡 Wow thats really hard work, but as always you did it 🤗 You rock girl!...so to speak.. as the throw pottery thing ...patience, patience 😁 Bilbo is gorgeous 🧡
Completely with you on being in awe of what our ancestors achieved with their hands - stone walls, moving tonnes and tonnes of earth - it's not just the wall itself, it's the terracing of the landscape as well. So much earth to move. It blows my mind. Here they say that families built one terrace every generation, which makes sense. So if you buy a plot of a few hectares, with 5 terraced levels for example.... 5 generations of work.... it just blows my mind....
So pleased to see you, hope your holidays were nice and relaxing.😺🥳⚘ lovely to see you with your projects. The book case is a great one 👍 Bilbo is adorable, he loves to be around you and help, lol. Tgat stone wall, a large job yet rewarding.🙂👍 great job and it will be lovely when done. Yes, manuel labor is back breaking. Very rewarding when finished. Make sure you take time to rest. The pottery will be lovely Im sure. Thanks for sharing all with us. Great jobs, it was very nice seeing back in action.👍🙂⚘❣😺
Marina, you look even more stunning than before. Think the Winter break did some Magic on You :) Missed your videos but happy to see you back again - YAY xxx
I'm glad you're back with a new video Loved how the dog is helping you out in it's own way to do the hard work 🤣 following you at every step you take 🙂 so cute 🥰🥰🥰 He's adorable
Really liked your ear rings at the end. Sure bet that pup will run your batteries down fast. Yep, amazing dry walls around the world and a lot of hard work went into them. You are doing a great job with your "puzzle wall building", what a home you have made in a short time Marina. Glad you got a break from video making, and made my day watching this one. Take care 'n stay warm and healthy too.
Marina Happy New Year. If inside you can see your breath it is under 14°C. That is way too cold. Wondering why don't you heat the place. I would die if I would have to be inside in a cold like that. I am so glad I live in a warm climat. I remember my childhood the European winters it was painful. That stone wall is epic. Truly amaising job you are doing. I did garden walls with rocks I thought that was hard. Keep practicing with the wheel you learn no time. Big hugs to you and Bilbo. Keep warm, winter is not over yet.
Sure glad you and Bilibo? are able to thaw from Mt. top winter. What visions you have for a beautiful "estate" complete with gardens and renewable life. The Craft corner as you call it grows by leaps and bounds.Skills and a personal touch are extraordinary. Throwing clay ? Ancient roots are reaching up to you from the soil you dig, to the Clay's you mold. Making your own everything you need is a most peaceful existence (although frustrating at times). Kudos on creating your circle of life beneath the clouds. Bilibo looks like a keeper. Best wishes
Well done! You’ve incredible tenacity! Many women wouldn’t even attempt the physical jobs you take on and manage to complete successfully! Girl power aye?! Your craft projects are such a contrast to dry stone walling but equally skilful. Inspirational once again.
I would gladly volunteer to come and do manual labour in return for those views, beautiful serenity and play with foster dogs all day. I love catching up with your vlogs Marina, you are food for my soul. Using a potters wheel is tricky, I did an evening class in ceramics and thoroughly enjoyed it. I wasn’t terribly good on a wheel but enjoyed slab and coil building. How are you going to fire them? Will you build a kiln outside with a wood fire?
Hi Matthew! There are kilns in town not to far from here I was thinking of firing the pottery there. If I ever get good then It would be super cool to build an outdoor kiln!
Hi Marina, greetings from Ireland! I just wanted to say that your videos are always so inspirational, your confidence in trying making things by yourself is amazing 👏🏻 and also (for a person with a little anxiety) I find your videos super relaxing and calming, so thank you. Always looking forward to your ideas and adventures 😊 and if you end up in Ireland some day I'd live to get you a coffee on our beautiful Inch Beach. Stay warm 😊
Oh my gosh. When you said back-breaking work, I thought yes, and you’re doing practically the same thing. I really wouldn’t want to swap. Well done for taking a day to recover. Isn’t it great to see Spring knocking on the door, too? Hugs from Germany xxx
Hello dear Marina, I Was anxious for a notice of you. Everyday I had looked for a New vídeo, but there aren't nothing New in timeline. Wow!… for sheer grit and determination, Marina, you have my admiration!… that wall re building project takes a lot of guts to even tackle… 👍👏👏…even with Bilbo’s well meaning ‘help’ and enthusiasm?!?…(he is adorable)…your weather looks so much better than in the UK… but maybe I am wrong???…loved the bookcase /storage unit.. beautiful wood…and so useful👍… no end to your talents…meaning the pottery course with skillshare…. excellent addition to practical skills…of course…look forward to your progress!…hope to see a little more of Bilbo.. before his new people snap him up and give him a good life and home💕💕… hope to see a new ‘episode soon…Cheers and a successful New Year for you .. in every possible way 😃🙏…from Sue (UK)
Oh Bilbo common give Marina a hand with all those rocks ;-) Common buddy. You grab the smaller ones, you can do it. LOL My previous pup used to love digging for rocks... when we were clearing our beach he was very helpful lol he'd go under water and bring them to the edge of the beach lol.... as long as we didn't toss too far the rocks we found... because then he'd fetch and bring them back. LOL
Hi Marina, so wonderful to see you upload. Its Amazing how much you do, and so nice to see your interests, really enjoy to see your journey. Your actions are inspirational, thank you. Bilbo as so many have looked Happy with you.... 💗🐾👍
That new section of wall looks so good, and the way the pallet bins turned out is great with the rocks under to level. I'm also looking forward to warmer weather, this morning it was -9°F here when I left for work.

If you get a piece of 5mm plywood and put it on the back of those shelves, they will be much more stable.
Good to see the new dog.

Great to see you are doing so well. A woodstove and a dog, that is all you need!

I'm good thank you just been doing lots of not so exciting jobs. Hope to be filming soon :)
That new section of wall looks so good, and the way the pallet bins turned out is great with the rocks under to level.
I'm also looking forward to warmer weather, this morning it was -9°F here when I left for work.
