I know that it is very hard to make complex concept easy to understand.... And you did it "smooth as butter" I do not comment a lot on UA-cam but this time I'm stunned.... so congratulation for your work and a Huge THANK YOU !
excellent video, I'm learning a lot with them. and I'm impressed that you're only 18 and know so much about this, I'm 19 and I know very little about Motion graphics, I hope to learn with you, you're very good at explaining
Nice one Oliver! Just wanna ask you, how did you learn motion graphics and animation so well? I mean, you're only 18 and already a serious pro! Would you recommend any courses or something else? At the moment I mainly use UA-cam tutorials and skillshare courses
Thank you! As I’m self taught, I have tried learning animation through UA-cam the past 6-7 years. What really helped me step up my game was taking the School of Motion Animation Bootcamp. It’s a bit expensive (around 1000 dollars), but worth every penny!
Thanks for this. It would have been helpful if you explain how you got the label as a shape layer when it has text on it tho. Have you got a technique for illustration rotations when applied to faces for instance? (to go from profile to frontal face for instance, or any rotation where the parts are outside the boundaries of the main shape). Thanks
Hey Jay! The entire illustration was made in Illustrator, imported into After Effects, and converted to shape layers. If I understand your question correctly, you would be able to do this by alternating between a front and a back label - if there are different ones. Otherwise you will have to clarify the question
HI Oliver, i just wonder how do you draw the label with the word beer? I imported an illustration file and create vector layer, however my text in the label layer disappear somehow...The text has already been transferred to vector shape in ai.
I have created all of the shapes for it on one shape layer. I created it in illustrator, exported it to After Effects and converted it to a shape layer

@@OliverRandorff Oh I've heard of that course, as well as Motion Design School courses! I'll think about it! Thanks!!
To be fair, this is just a 1:1 copy of a Motion Array Tutorials video......
Very cool!!!
Thanks you so much , so pedagogical ! :)
varren manvelian Haha, glad you enjoyed!
Can we do this effect to the actual product bottle photos? Great tutorial btw

Great video. May I know why your composition is that square size and not 720p or 1080p?
Thanks! That’s because I also create the animation for Instagram, so I switch between 1920x1080 and 1920x1920
Thank you 😊
HI Oliver, i just wonder how do you draw the label with the word beer? I imported an illustration file and create vector layer, however my text in the label layer disappear somehow...The text has already been transferred to vector shape in ai.
Select the text in illustrator and press ctrl+shift+o (cmd on mac) and it turns into shapes
Thanks a lot for this tutorial, but how to do if the back and the front labels are different?
great brooo
Thanks!
Hi, how you prepare label to be all small details in one label layer?
I have created all of the shapes for it on one shape layer. I created it in illustrator, exported it to After Effects and converted it to a shape layer
hi oliver may i ask you do you import your ilaustrator file with any special way or no?
I use an extension called Overlord, which costs around 40-50 dollars
Thanks
How can i attach the text to the label in one layer only? like you did?
what if the bottle s not a shape layer.... how do you go about that?
Mask out the label and duplicate the layer. Should work out
How did you do the text animation?
I added text animators and tweaked with the settings to random and easing to 0 so it blinks in.
How to add audio effects ?
I use an application called soundly to find all of my sound effects
hello, sir how we can use this animation on a real bottle?
That would be a different more complex animation that I haven’t tried out myself
