    Rule of thumb for Ford Escapes: if something seems easy and accessible, you’re probably doing it wrong. I instinctively knew you had the wrong port. Haha. Thanks for the vid!!

    Perfect. I did the same thing and tried to use the high pressure valve, then came in and found your video!! Thank You for helping me figure it out.

    So as a general rule, the low side port will be connected to a “fat”line and the high side port is connected to a skinnier line.

    You just have to pull up on the plastic engine cover to pop it loose and open up a whole lot more room for your hands to get to the low pressure port. :)

    Great video, thanks for making it easy to understand and adding the hiccups. As a non technical person, after watching this video I feel comfortable to recharge my Food Escape 2015. Please make more videos

    It would of been helpful to see what the amount was on the cans gauge before you took it off.

    The directions I read on the can said your suppose to continuously fill while rotating the can from the 12 to 3 positions. Constantly doing this motion.

    My friend if I can add a couple of comments that plastic cover over top the engine like all engines just pops right up that being out of your way will make the job so much easier. I love my Escape your comment about ridiculously designed car every car out there has its features that are easier to work on than others you can replace the light bulb very easy in a Ford Escape that is 2013 or newer but go to a Ford Fusion and you have to take the entire bumper off which is the case for many cars out there. They put that Port down low also so you won't make the mistake like you did in the video of trying to put it on my the high pressure side. They probably want you to take it into the dealer to avoid an accident. Thank you just the same I'm not trying to critique you very nice of you to show next time though that plastic cover that you were trying to go around pops right off and get mechanic gloves not gardening gloves LOL thank you again

    Ford really wasn't thinking when they did the low side connection. 2014 is the same place. PITA, for certain.

    The port in my Ford escape 2015 is impossible to get to and the engine is supposed to be running when you do this. The engine is running with moving belts and is hot right next to my hand and I already can't squeeze it in with it off. Wtf kind of car design is this. I hate cars

    Why is this video so long? Edit out all the parts where you mess up. Just show how to do it correctly.

    So im getting only hot air out of my 2014 Ford escape do u think I should try this option first before taking it to get it looked at?

    • @Whiteboardcoder
      @Whiteboardcoder  4 роки тому +1

      I think it's a nice cheap option to try first before taking it in for costly repairs.
      But if this does not fix it a good mechanic can help :)

    This video was a scrap as soon as you started with the wrong port. The gringe that was felt watching you try to force the line onto the wrong port was quite intense. Just start over at that point. Also, make sure you tell people to consult the service manual on what the low side pressure should actually be. Don't just assume that the gauge on the bottle is correct. Lastly, spend the little extra money and get an actual gauge set so that you can monitor both high and low side pressures. You can fill till you blow the pressure relief if there are other issues or obstructions in the system. Don't do it this way on any newer vehicle. This is good for older cars that you really don't care about.
    So, 1. Check location of port. 2. Don't force the round peg in the square hole. 3. Get an actual gauge set. 4. Consult service manual for optimal high and low side pressures based on AMBIENT temp. 5. Use a temperature probe in the central vent to measure and reach the specified output temperature based on ambient specified in the service manual. It will also probably include a procedure on what the climate control settings should be, what RPM to hold the engine at, and what output temp should be vs ambient temp. 6. (OPTIONAL, but good idea) Use a scale to weigh the bottle and see how much you added compared to the total amount the system takes as indicated in the service manual. If there's a large differential, this fix won't last long without an actual leak check. Do the job right or don't do it at all. Costing yourself a grand or two because you didn't want to spend $100 on a gauge set and $20 for the service manual on Ebay is just sadness. Otherwise, the production quality of your video was the best thing to speak about. -END RANT-
