There were a couple of eights in the round at 3:00 and I'm a bit surprised Susie missed them both, because they're both to do with language: PROSAIST and PROTASIS. A PROSAIST is, as the word implies, a person who writes prose. PROTASIS is the subordinate clause in a conditional sentence.
And at 7:00 , they went for the obscure FIGURANT, but didn't mention the conventional word DRAFTING.
In the numbers round, I saw Jeremy's solution, but this round, despite the low numbers and high target, was fairly rich in alternatives. One obvious alternative is to divide by 3:
75 x 4 = 300
300 + 2 + 1 = 303
303 x 3 = 909
You can even multiply 101 by 9:
75 x 4 = 300
300 / 3 = 100
100 + 1 = 101
7 + 2 = 9
101 x 9 = 909
And you can multiply by 4:
75 x 3 = 225
225 + 2 = 227
227 x 4 = 908
908 + 1 = 909
The one thing you can't do, frustratingly, is multiply by 7, despite the fact that the target is just 1 away from 130 x 7 = 910.

@@smpgeek Yes. That's the challenge, isn't it?
It's been years since I did this, but I probably had the first solution before the clock even began ticking because it's so easy to spot, and the first one naturally leads into the second, since they both involve 75 x 4. That left me with the remaining time to come up with the third (and to try and fail to make a solution based on 130 x 7 work).

@@smpgeek I've thought about it, but I'm not a U. K. resident so it's a bit impractical. I'm not sure what the shooting schedule is and how many episodes they do in a day, but if they only do one a day then I'd have to carve out at least two or three weeks (because I'd also want to get some sightseeing in), and then there's always the possibility that I might do so well that I'd have to come back for the finals. It would be an expensive proposition. But if I ever manage to have the necessary vacation time and the money at the same time, then I'd certainly like to do it.
