My dad turned 100 last week! He is in his own home a mile from us and I could never go south and leave him. He is so sharp and I learn from him every day!
Glad you are there for him, I've worked in nursing homes/assisted living...some people have no family or there have even been family members who are dropped off by a TAXI. Your Dad is blessed to have you!
The episode with the salty comments about “the cult” of the Villages! Jerry & Linda your spoof was SO darn hilarious! I had to watch it again! You both are so entertaining & bring so much joy to your audience. Thank you for being you & for ALL the time & effort you put into your videos. Please know you make so many of us happy & entertained.
I'LL never forget the first time I ever came to Florida.... I thought the sky was the most beautiful I've ever seen in my life! Every time I come back, I feel the same! The sky in Florida is just beautiful!
Yes, the huge fluffy clouds are gorgeous! I miss the beautiful northern fall colors and the spring cherry tree blossoms but these clouds make up for it.
You guys just have no idea what an honor and thrill it was that you came out to see me at WOB on Friday night. Not only for myself, but for my wife and daughter (Karen and Lexie) as well. We're such big fans of you guys, it was just SO awesome to meet you in person, you guys are even nicer in person than on the show!!!! I hope we get to see you again soon....you really made our day FRIDAY! Hope to see you both again soon!!!!

Enjoyed your show. I have the word scramble, it reminds me of a type of joke. Also, I can understand one of your viewers questions. I retired at age 60 in California and spend several years there enjoying the outdoors, especially the fishing. I ended up selling there to move back to Indiana to help care for my parents who were in their late 80's and 90's. That lasted over 5 years. Dad made it to 96 and Mom to 95. I ended up moving to the Villages at age 76, but love it here and enjoy all the activities daily, especially the fishing.
Loved the cult segment with you two 😂 you must have been awesome teachers - fun & creative! Would be cool to hear from past students! Mr. Banks & pets shown in shout outs bring smiles 😃
Jerry, the "Miami Vice" palm trees are called Royal Palm trees, not the Washingtonia Palm. Royal Palms only grow in zones 10 and 11, generally below Tampa and Vero Beach. Washingtonia Palms are the trees mostly seen in Southern California that get super tall and skinny with little palm fronds. Generally speaking, Royal Palm are highly coveted and desirable due to their beauty and majestic appearance, whereas Washingtonia Palms are not desired because the older they get, the higher the maintenance with minimal beauty.
Yes, palm trees all have something that is bothersome, be it pods or spines.... that's why I love Crape Myrtles so much! And they come in every size, from dwarf shrubs to full size trees.
Hello you guys this is me from the Midwest again. I used to live in Schererville Indiana. I just want to tell you even though the villages is not for me. It is for you guys and I’ll tell you why I grew up in a very rough part of town on the southside, I cannot be secluded from the action you guys have your own little village away from the public, but one size does not fit for a lot of people I do not disrespect you for living there and about
Happy 95th Birthday Gloria!! Cheers to an amazing year ahead. Happy Monday Jerry and Linda! You guys are my favorite way to start the week. More great advice from Peter today in Bubble Rap. Thanks for sharing. Best! ❤🌴❤
Some years ago I had a chance to move to Florida from my state. I was excited. But as I thought about moving I also thought about my mom and dad. I had a sis and brother but I declined. I stayed home stood by my parents till their death. I knew it was the right thing and my Bible says take care of your parents. I have no guilt and am happy I was with them till their end.
Hi Jerry and Linda, We are transplants from Los Angeles. We noticed that, while LA has many King Palms, I see none here. King Palms resemble coconut palms but are hardier. They don't grow as tall as most palms and are easier to upkeep. Any reason they aren't here? Love palm trees. We saw you when we got here. Had a great chat with you. Love and blessings, Karen and Dennis
❤❤❤always look forward to mr jerry and ms linda vlog..❤❤❤from a Indiana girl living on the Virginia Tennessee line now with her golden retriever buddy ray
Mature landscaping is great but, in addition to the palm tree info ~ I Had a 25 foot magnolia tree in the front yard of my 27 yr old Villages home. Beautiful but major headache, dropping thousands of seed pods and all the leaves in the driveway and out into the street. Because it didn't provide any shade at all, I chose to remove it. I would never buy a property with a magnolia tree. They make a major mess even staining the driveway if you drive over the pods.
Love your video. Will be looking to move in the near future to the villages. Going in dec for a lifestyle visit. Have been living in Florida for 34 yrs and you must must be careful for the red ants in the grass when you lay down in it. It’s all pretty out here and yes those trees become an issue especially during the storms. Thank you for your video. Just found you. ❤❤❤
Love you both so much! You put out fresh professionally created videos that are fun and informative! Really appreciate all the hard work you put into them. And your sense of humor is absolutely the best!!!!! The cult skit hysterically funny! Top Shelf! Thank you NEWCOMERS1
Your answer to the villages being a cult salty comment was hysterical. 6:30 AM watching this and can’tstop laughing!! the visual for the answer was spot on and so funny😆 the bloopers started the giggles😅 thank you both we all need a chuckle or two❤
I was told Drano is not good for the pipes. My handyman gave me a plastic squiggly rod which can be down the drain and turn around and around and it will loosen any clogs. I appreciate the idea about putting baking soda and vinegar down the sink to get rid of odors. I’ve noticed an odd smell in my guest bathroom so this will be helpful.
Great tip Peter! I was wondering if something was wrong with my sink drain due to the periodic smell. Baking soda and vinegar. Always a great combo around the house. Thank you!
I laughed so hard at the cult section, the other people in my office had to come see you too to see what was so funny :). Love you guys! You're fantastic!

Another groovy and very informative program. Question for you all. With thousands of new people moving into the Villages who protects them from crimes? I hear the Villages has one law enforcement stations for everybody. I mean, a hand full of police can not handle thousands of people, including all the people from out of the Villages that come into town.
To answer John Dillmans question. Your best choice would be a Foxtail palm. They are self shedding (meaning the palms will automatically drop to the ground when they die off). Also they do not produce to seed pods to deal with. Two other palms to consider are a Bottle Palm or a Pony Tail Palm They are very slow growing. All 3 palms are very low maintenance.
Hey Jerry and. Linda. Happy Monday. The meet and greet must’ve been so nice. And wishing Gloria a happy birthday 🎁🎊🎈🎉🎂. Short comment today. I’m dressing to head out so listening. Always appreciate Peter’s bubble wrap. Have a great week and see you Thursday 🤗. Listening to the rest 😂
Thanks for the video! I love palm trees, but some types are difficult to care for. I have two palms flanking my front door. After 19 years of living here, they are finally getting too tall for me to use my tree saw to cut off the dead fronds. I don't know what kind they are, but they definitely don't have pods. Thanks for the Bubble Rap - I use that trick too when the sinks get slow or stopped up. I finally added my sinks to my monthly maintenance list. In Florida, lots of HOAs have exit fees, but they are not called that. They are transfer fees, relocation fees, etc. These fees cover the costs of preparing and distributing documents, updating databases, and changing security codes and amenity passes when you leave an HOA community.
For me, seigneur them everywhere in East TX and Louisiana, to me they're just weeds. I'd pass on palm trees as I don't want weeds in my yard. ;-) -- BR
I use the Villages Community Watch House service. They walk around the exterior of the house twice a week and report any issues by a call or email. The costs is $5 plus tax a week. I give a neighbor my entry code to check the interior if needed.
The Villages are fine and an option. Probably for people who enjoy golf and tennis and other recreational activities. You are getting lots of sunshine for a home that is smaller than what you have now for a lot more than what you paid for your now larger home. Like all else it’s all up to what you value and that is why The Villages allows for trial stays to see if you like it. I think The Villages are a fine option.
Good morning, nice to see you both this morning. Sometimes it feels like there might be a tax to leave.... Oh. We were getting unsubscribed on a pretty regular basis for a couple of months but it hasn't happened in some time now.
I check my subscription every Monday and more often than not I am unsubscribed. I don’t understand because I watch every single video you post. Thank you for showing my Jack and Jemma Joy at the end of the video. I was touched to see them. 13 years old.
Someone told us today that it's probably a false reading, that you are indeed subscribed but you may check it on a different phone or computer and appears that you are not.
Our exact situation sadly. We put aside moving to remain in area for mother in law. Offered her options of moving with us, would not hear of it. So now kicking ourselves. Mother in law still going strong and just turned 100. We are 74 and 69 now and really feeling we are too down the road to make a move :( Bottom line we should have made offer to take her with us and if declined as was should have gone anyway. She does have a son that lives with her at 61 pretty much just lives off of her assets. Anyway I would say as answer to the question. MOVE, have to live your own life at some point.
Good TUESDAY morning Jerry and Linda. I'm in Ohio but it feels like Florida with the temp. in the 94 degree range all week. Last week was in the low 70's Ugh I cant take the heat. I have a Bubble wrap idea for your clogged sink. If you have a shop vac, use the blower end and put the hose over the drain. Be sure to cover the overflow hole with a rag. Holding the hose down tight, turn on the vac to blow the obstruction thru. This was another great video, not to many bloopers. When Peter makes a blooper are they " Bubble wrap Bumbles" ? Take care
I have been told that the black sludge in drain pipes, particularly in the bathroom, is caused by magnesium deposits in hard water. You should make sure your filter action system filters magnesium. I think these systems are more expensive than the simple ones from the big box hardware stores.
There is soooo much I could say about your show. It’s the funniest and I really liked how you handled The Cult Jugdge😂Could you maybe in the future do a fun show just with persons who did bad mouth TV but then they had a transformation due to a Lifestyle Visit. Lastly, Mr Barnard your bubble wrapping segment is great ALL the time❤Thank you Jerry& Linda ❤
We really enjoy your videos even though we don’t have plans of moving to the Villages. Being a retired insurance guy you may have gone over this but a good topic is how you can add golf cart coverage to your home insurance policy especially for liability in case you let people drive your carts. Have a story of someone who did not and someone got seriously injured. Luckily it all turned out ok but customer was pretty nervous for a while.
Enjoyed the show. I have to say Peter Bernard and Bubble Rap is a great addition to your team. I have a question from last week's show about trash pick-up. Agree, it must be nice to not have to lug trashcans up and down the driveway. My question is since the bags are left out overnight do they ever get broken apart by nighttime critters? I can imagine a racoon walking by and getting a whiff of the scrapings from Linda's meatloaf.
They changed the realtor fees... buyer pays their own realtor and seller pays their own realtor. Change was sometime in August 2024. Everything is negotiable though!
Also, the seller can offer to pay the buyer's agent's commission. This has been mentioned on more than one MLS Realtor's UA-cam channel. This is a nationwide change, not just in The Villages or Florida. This is a result of a lawsuit against the National Association of Realtors.

Amen. Very well said. Thank you.
The Locks of Love bridge in Paris?
Boom Shaka laka.
Take care
Thank you Tom! Can we call you Tom?
@@JERRYANDLINDA Yes you may.
The bloopers were hilarious! 😂 Too much fun in Minnesota with Mike and Mary!
Thanks, Tom!
I have been told that the black sludge in drain pipes, particularly in the bathroom, is caused by magnesium deposits in hard water. You should make sure your filter action system filters magnesium. I think these systems are more expensive than the simple ones from the big box hardware stores.
I saw you kids last Thursday at Codys but didn’t want to interrupt. I was the booth next to you having lunch with friends. Always enjoy the show.
Thank you Debbie!
You are so kind. Thank you.
Thank you very much, we appreciate your kind comment.
We actually tried to get an insurance agent several times to come on an hour show and they decline. They are afraid to upset the Home Office.
Question? Two ways to sell home... Are you allowed to sell buy owner??
Thanks for a great video! 🎉🎉🎉
Yes you can!
LOL! There is never any meatloaf left to go into the garbage. Once in a while a raccoon will dig into the trash, and occasionally the crows will try.
Great show and Jerry I enjoy your teacher way of talking .Colors of outfits today a plus!!❤
Thanks so much Connie!
Thanks guys. It was nice to see the Indiana flag behind you. I started singing "Back Home Again in Indiana". Cheers
I got your puzzle right away.
🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
OMG. Thanks for the laugh on the cult skit.
They changed the realtor fees... buyer pays their own realtor and seller pays their own realtor. Change was sometime in August 2024. Everything is negotiable though!
😲😲😲😲😲
Also, the seller can offer to pay the buyer's agent's commission. This has been mentioned on more than one MLS Realtor's UA-cam channel. This is a nationwide change, not just in The Villages or Florida. This is a result of a lawsuit against the National Association of Realtors.
