Tbh, the 15 pro comes with 128gb at 999 while pro max at 1200 comes at 256gb, bigger and better quality screen and camera which I think is fairly good price considering that 15pro at 256gb costs over 1100 which is only 100 less. I think it's rather worth the 200 to buy 15 pro max. What do you think?
I chose the iPhone 15 Pro (not the max), but I was sad that I couldn't take 5x portraits with that beautiful effect. But I went crazy when I was taking pictures and zoomed from 3x to 5x in portrait mode. And I was shocked because it was almost identical to the result of the 5x lens of the pro max. I had the 13 Pro and there was no possibility of zooming in portrait mode, at most it reached up to 3x. You who have the iPhone 15 Pro, open the camera in portrait mode, select the 3x lens and try to zoom. Go straight to 5x and the portrait effect is perfect. I disagree. Between 3x and 4.9x the regular Pro is significantly sharper and less noisy which might actually give it the edge in everyday use when you wanna take pictures of your family members etc., but what is also a very significant difference between the two phones is the battery. The Pro Max lasts multiple hours longer which makes sense with 35% increase to battery size. Considering that and the fact that you get 256 GB instead of 128 in the base model which will be just what many people want for everyday use I think the price difference is somewhat reasonable.

The pro max crops the main sensor between 2x to 4.9x - which means the 3x on the pro would be way sharper than the 3x on the pro max - and you can try this out. So no, every image isn’t sharper on the pro max. It’s a choice - whether you want a shaper 3x or a sharper 5x on the telephoto.
What many people don't mention is how at 3 or 4X and even up to 4.9X, the Pro max will use its main lens to crop in the image, as opposed to the Pro, which will use the telephoto. Now you briefly mentioned it, but didn't show enough practical examples to showcase this, in my opinion. Maybe text-based images would have presented things more accurately. GSMArena made a great comparison in this aspect and showcased that the difference in short zoom distances is much greater than those at let's say 5 or 6 times zoom. Of course, the further you zoom, the more noticeable it starts to become, but it really bois down to what type of zoomed shots you're taking. If you're taking more 3, 4 5X shots at most, then the Pro would still be the better choice, IMHO. If you want to snipe at long distances, maybe Androids are the better bet, honestly... As you said it yourself. Great video, nonetheless!
You forgot to say that for many topics, a x3 zoom may be more convenient than a tight x5. Besides if you need to be on a 3x on an iPhone Prox Max, you'll be using digital zoom from the X1 lens so the quality at that focal length will be worst on the pro Max than on the standard Pro. It's a matter of choice because both have pros & cons based on your own needs.
I got the 15 pro max because I like the size better. The extra zoom is a nice bonus. Just choose the size you like. It isn’t even about the money. But it’s a big phone. If you don’t like it you’re never going to enjoy it.
Wrong info. 15 pro max optical zoom capability not up to 5x. Before 5x I mean to 4.9x it will be digital zoom which is actually cropping. When 5x if there is enough light then telephoto lens will kick in otherwise iphone use the main lens. Because telephoto lens does not work good in low light environment specially in phone. It can be improved but if they work on it will become much more costly life a camera.
There is a difference at 3x and everything up to 4.9x - the pro is better because it is using its 3x zoom lens and the pro max is using the main lens. The difference is quite obvious and is worse than the difference of the pro at 5x and above. Not an accurate review!
You didn't mention the other big difference. 15 pro max has 256GB standard capacity, where 15 pro has 128GB. Getting a pro model allows you to take better quality pics (also with proraw) which are much more larger (up to 100MB per 1 photo! in my 15 pro max). So why would you buy the lowest storage option if you want to take many photos? 128GB is good for standard non-pro model. So maybe you want to buy 15 pro with bigger 256GB storage? So now you have to pay 1100$ so there is only 100$ gap between pro and pro max with the same storage. So now you think hmmm okay so only 100$ can make me have bigger screen, longer lasting battery and better zooming ability. Here is the point where it''s worth to buy the MAX version of Iphone 15 PRO. :)
drawback of 15 pro max is that it record the cinematic mode video by cropping its main 24mm sensor and 15 pro optically record by default 3x sensor..sp the quality is not amazing as optical..it misses the edges as well..Also should have a option on 15PM to record cinematic through 5x telephoto
iPhones are mostly great, but they could be greater. Apple slow walks improvements and over charges for what you get.
