The Old Whistle is my idea for a boss. Its a bat-like entity that has an ancient whistle that it uses to attack. The boss is blind so will attack randomly until you hit it. Once you hit it, it will attack on which direction you hit it from then return to attacking randomly. Also make the attacks slightly hard to dodge to compensate for sometimes shooting somewhere that the player won't be
I think it’d be really cool if it became stormy during the final phase of the boss. There could be a rain effect in the foreground and lightning similar to that big white flash when the boss enters the phase. It’d be very cinematic and would add a-lot to the final phase

Great video! That dodgy guy looks like a gambler. He would bet that I couldn’t complete a zero-hit boss run. If I win, he’d give me special rewards. If I lose, if he’d keep my gold! (he could also be a secret boss - like, if I make a huge bet and lose enough, I’d have to fight HIM to repay my debts.)
this game looks more amazing each time i see it i can see one of the bosses being like a sax bird with music sheets as wings or even a piano stage that looks like old tom & jerry episodes where jerry is inside of the piano while tom is playing it and trying to hit him just putting some ideas here
I keep coming back to their channel from time to time hoping for an update. If the developers are reading this, could we get some kind of information to the status/plans with this project? If it's cancelled that's unfortunate, but then at least we will know!

im absolutely loving these devlogs! theyre so professionally done and the game is shaping up nicely. You are absolutely right! We are still working and changing things around. It is a bit tricky to make the bark sounds like a bark but also pleasant to the ear if you would hear it nonstop if that makes sense haha. But we will try our best to get it to the point that it sounds more like bark without it being too annoying! You are doing an awesome Job showing the workflows from idea to Implementation and having multiple people narrate their respektive parts is super useful to understand how much work (and communication) goes into all of it! Tubagoat has a great Design and evil Tubagoat looks awesome! The White Flash looks super cool, too. I love the animations of the sheep clouds and I can totally See myself having to replay this Boss multiple times just because I got distracted by your awesome artwork and me for getting to play just to watch the animations play out :D Seeing the behaviour tree in Action is great, too - Shows that Tools are important when Crafting something. Really nice work! The boss is looking and sounding so great! For a future boss, perhaps a composer of sorts who's somewhat in the background and conducting music notes to come attack 🤔 Also please Tomer sound effects in the final game
I think the shady guy at the end should give the player some kind of dubious item that he's trying to get rid of and make someone else's responsibility, like an item with a funny curse you can't get out of your inventory. It would also be funny to be able to confront him later and have some dialogue about it. maybe he mentions stealing it from someone else and you're able to return it if you find the right person?
When the boss shoots his lightning strikes is sounds to much like farts and to less like horns in my opinion. Love the game and will buy it when it comes out. Keep on going, this could become a big title!
I remember a year ago when I wanted to get into game development. After way too many hours of tutorials for things that were way out of my reach I found your channel. You were a guy who simply took an idea and started making and you ENJOYED IT. You recognized your weaknesses and chose to improve them and document them in your devlogs.I made a couple of cart games before I had too put it on the side but tbh I feel I should try and have some new hobbies again. I hope one day I can get recognition on your level.

It is never easy and I can say that there were many times where we had doubts in ourselves(and sometimes still do on many levels) but it is important to just focus on yourself and your own improvements. Rome isn't built in a day and so it is important to take things slow and take babysteps. Consistency and discipline is important :) enjoying the process is even more important! Hope that helps!
I love the white screen dramatic transition, but maybe in the black and white sprite you coud make an animation of the boss transition from the rounded model to the spiky one, then his eyes open too, maybe just some 5 frames would make this transition better.
After a flying boss, you could add an underground boss, like a mole. It's not too exotic and would fit the other animals so far. Something like the parody version of Morocco Mole (with the dark glasses), from "Super Secret Secret Squirrel". He could dig up the ground, pop up, throw stuff in the air, etc. And Pinni could use a water source to flood the mole's tunnels. Btw, awesome video, I loved every bit of it!
Hey there, The game is looking great. I only just noticed with the inclusion of the boss fight, but everything feels quite animated and alive. I also appreciate the depth of the sound effects for the cloud goats. As for the poll, it's kind of hard to say, but here's my take. I think B (money) "makes sense" just by his demeanor. On the other hand, A (food) sounds more fun and could work considering the choice to have a giant troubled rooster (or was it chicken?) instead of a clock tower or some time shrine. So, I guess I'm sort of leaning towards A for now. Anyway, really appreciate the update. Congrats with the exhibition.

The thunder flash is amazing! For the dodgy guy, I vote A. Not only can it be considered more silly and family-friendly, but you could also make it that the food is a special collectable you can find in the level(only if you are skilled enough to surpass a certain challenge)

The game is looking amazing so far! I like the boss music and everything looks so good! Im so hyped for its full release, and the thunder effect for the third phase is a great idea, cant wait to see more of Pinni. Also, the guy should give something to Pinni it would be kind of interesting what he would give and what it will probably do to Pinni!
I’d say as far as switching stages you could have lighting strikes create intentions and then move the camera down turning the original ground into platforms
It might be neat if the horns got deeper and more like a tuba or something in the angry phase. Sorta like Mr. Sax's damage sound effect from Rayman 1, maybe.
A small suggestion: maybe make it so that when the multi lightning strike attack happens, the sound effect increases slightly in pitch each strike, kind of like how coins in Mario games will increase in pitch if you get a bunch real quickly. I think this will add more texture to the sound
It's so fun watching this game come to life! The music is also legendary what the heck Just be careful while making the enemy variants to distinguish them for colorblind people :D Wishlist pinni on steam gamers!

I think it would be interesting if there was a bit of static effect around the goat ssj form and a thunder sound when it transforms :) It looks like the Dodgy character is a gangster looking for a bribe or something so maybe cash for black market items? lol
For the poll: I feel like the dodgy guy should trade you items for items? If thats a possible mechanic? And maybe it varies..sometimes he will trade u Food for Money, or vice versa, Money for Food. So this mechanic will make you think ab which food items you choose to keep in your inventory or something, cus u could get big money for them from this guy (Also i know nothing ab this project, this is the first video i’ve seen and im in love. Definitely gonna keep up w this one! :)

I have an idea, when it’s the third phase a wind starts blowing the stage pushing th player left and right therefore making his attacks harder to dodge
pinnies fist attack reminds me of the uppercut of cerebella from "skull girls. would be an interesting thing to check out for you guys to make it more dynamic. there is presentation on youtube of a the main animator or head animator of the fighting game "skull girls". she explains more about how the frames look. i would recommend you guys giving it a look.
I think a cool idea for a future boss would be a Giant Drum Camel within a desert environment (if there's one). The drums would emit sound from below the arena which would put the player's jumping skills to use when dodging. For damaging the Boss, I think that having the player attack constantly regenerating stalactites to make them fall onto Taikammel (The name of the boss I came up with) thus dealing the damage. Another cool Idea would be power ups obtained from defeating bosses. for example a power up that lets the player emit a large burst of sound to pulverize boulders to be able to access previously inaccessible areas and a reverse launch power up that is perfect for some form of a slam attack.
I love the boss fight. My only feedback is I wish the horn thunder projectile sound: I wish the horn sound was bigger and boomier / lower note as those horns are big.. Big instruments make low loud noises

This game looks awesome, it features a cute and charming aesthetic and its cool that your taking inspiration from other games, such as BOTW. My only suggestion is that you guys try and tweak the shadow system, cause currently the creatures feel like their just stuck in front of the environment. Also adding another layer infront of your entities which would include things such as small blades of grass and shrubs, to make them feel imbedded in the world. (Less flat looking - So that the creatures are then occasionally wedged between the thicker background elements and small bits of vegetation, thus helping the world feel more alive and complex to explore and look at). Anyways....
i think it would be cool to be able to get an extra jump boost from the breakable spikes if you attack from above them when airborn, like bouncing on spikes with your nail in hollow knight
oh yeah we had that idea inititally but it became too overpowered and so for now we decided to postpone it, but maybe once the mechanics gets solidified more, we can balance it and actually turn it into a cool mechanic :) thanks for sharing!
@@AndrewGiacomoPinnical you could always make it a lot shorter than the normal boost, or only work on breakable spikes (incase you add unbreakable spikes)
An idea for this boss is when it goes into a different phase it makes a shockwave with its tuba horns to keep the players from spam hitting him when he goes into another phase
Maybe its just me but when I go to search up and check if there's any new devlogs every week or so, I always search for "pini's adventure" its quite hard to remember "and the Lost Voice" and its also quite hard to remember that there's two N's in "Pinni". Love the current state of the game though! Keep it going!

I have a nice idea for the drumbat (it might not be needed but it’s still cute) Since the bat has a flat head I’ve been thinking what if it could be used as somewhere to stand? Or a bounce pad if you get enough momentum? I’m not sure if it would work since there’s already the bark jump but it might still be a pretty cute thing to have Plus there could be a level revolving around it
I would also add a variety of barking sounds to stop it from sounding boring. rain for the boss fight would be cool. Right now. the "barking" sounds like hard breaths, when it should be more like a bark or a growl. maybe amix of both.
I'm not sure if you have any plans for it, but I think it would be cool if there was more emphasis on each hit you inflict on the boss, e.g. by making it flinch
We initially actually thought of that, but flintching would mean disrupting attacks giving the player a lot of power and control over the boss and for tuba goat, we really wanted to give that fuild pattern of attacks but i will keep that in mind and keep testing! Dodgy guy should give you some money/currency for delivering pizza to other npcs in the world! It would encourage exploration, because not every customer live in "normal" places (like the town)

Im so hyped for its full release, and the thunder effect for the third phase is a great idea, cant wait to see more of Pinni. Also, the guy should give something to Pinni it would be kind of interesting what he would give and what it will probably do to Pinni!

I’d say as far as switching stages you could have lighting strikes create intentions and then move the camera down turning the original ground into platforms

It might be neat if the horns got deeper and more like a tuba or something in the angry phase. Sorta like Mr. Sax's damage sound effect from Rayman 1, maybe.

A small suggestion: maybe make it so that when the multi lightning strike attack happens, the sound effect increases slightly in pitch each strike, kind of like how coins in Mario games will increase in pitch if you get a bunch real quickly. I think this will add more texture to the sound

I feel like the dodgy guy should trade you items for items? If thats a possible mechanic? And maybe it varies..sometimes he will trade u Food for Money, or vice versa, Money for Food. So this mechanic will make you think ab which food items you choose to keep in your inventory or something, cus u could get big money for them from this guy
(Also i know nothing ab this project, this is the first video i’ve seen and im in love. Definitely gonna keep up w this one! :)

I have an idea, when it’s the third phase a wind starts blowing the stage pushing th player left and right therefore making his attacks harder to dodge

pinnies fist attack reminds me of the uppercut of cerebella from "skull girls. would be an interesting thing to check out for you guys to make it more dynamic. there is presentation on youtube of a the main animator or head animator of the fighting game "skull girls". she explains more about how the frames look. i would recommend you guys giving it a look.

I think a cool idea for a future boss would be a Giant Drum Camel within a desert environment (if there's one). The drums would emit sound from below the arena which would put the player's jumping skills to use when dodging. For damaging the Boss, I think that having the player attack constantly regenerating stalactites to make them fall onto Taikammel (The name of the boss I came up with) thus dealing the damage.
Another cool Idea would be power ups obtained from defeating bosses. for example a power up that lets the player emit a large burst of sound to pulverize boulders to be able to access previously inaccessible areas and a reverse launch power up that is perfect for some form of a slam attack.
I love the boss fight. My only feedback is I wish the horn thunder projectile sound: I wish the horn sound was bigger and boomier / lower note as those horns are big.. Big instruments make low loud noises

This game looks awesome, it features a cute and charming aesthetic and its cool that your taking inspiration from other games, such as BOTW. My only suggestion is that you guys try and tweak the shadow system, cause currently the creatures feel like their just stuck in front of the environment. Also adding another layer infront of your entities which would include things such as small blades of grass and shrubs, to make them feel imbedded in the world. (Less flat looking - So that the creatures are then occasionally wedged between the thicker background elements and small bits of vegetation, thus helping the world feel more alive and complex to explore and look at). Anyways....

i think it would be cool to be able to get an extra jump boost from the breakable spikes if you attack from above them when airborn, like bouncing on spikes with your nail in hollow knight
oh yeah we had that idea inititally but it became too overpowered and so for now we decided to postpone it, but maybe once the mechanics gets solidified more, we can balance it and actually turn it into a cool mechanic :) thanks for sharing!

An idea for this boss is when it goes into a different phase it makes a shockwave with its tuba horns to keep the players from spam hitting him when he goes into another phase

Maybe its just me but when I go to search up and check if there's any new devlogs every week or so, I always search for "pini's adventure" its quite hard to remember "and the Lost Voice" and its also quite hard to remember that there's two N's in "Pinni".

Since the bat has a flat head I’ve been thinking what if it could be used as somewhere to stand? Or a bounce pad if you get enough momentum? I’m not sure if it would work since there’s already the bark jump but it might still be a pretty cute thing to have

I would also add a variety of barking sounds to stop it from sounding boring. rain for the boss fight would be cool. Right now. the "barking" sounds like hard breaths, when it should be more like a bark or a growl. maybe amix of both.

I'm not sure if you have any plans for it, but I think it would be cool if there was more emphasis on each hit you inflict on the boss, e.g. by making it flinch
We initially actually thought of that, but flintching would mean disrupting attacks giving the player a lot of power and control over the boss and for tuba goat, we really wanted to give that fuild pattern of attacks but i will keep that in mind and keep testing! Dodgy guy should give you some money/currency for delivering pizza to other npcs in the world! It would encourage exploration, because not every customer live in "normal" places (like the town)
