We have a little foot bridge in our town and when we were kids we’d match on it to make it bounce like your talking. People would freak when they’d walk across it. 😂
Awesome video ben i rember seeing a high speed video of a rockerarn valve train running at like 10.000 rpm and the spring and retainer spinning around ,valve spring jumping around like the hula dancer lol. Those conical springs make more power and less ocilations with lighter weight for higher rpms
Those new spring designs are very good and having different diameters throughout will cancel all or most of the oscillations so they do not happen at the same time!
Excellent video Ben. One of the things that I used to do when building motorcycle engines was run as little valve spring as possible. Simply because the potential gains as a percentage of available horsepower was significant, and every horsepower was potentially the race winning one.
Whats up brotha. Thanks for the video. Great info and tech on valve spring/ retainer harmonics and designs. Conical is where its at with high RPM. Excellent instruction and guidance. Hope yall do well in texas racing. Talk to ya soon bro. " its all in your heads" ~BAR
There are instances where rocker arm vibrating perhaps in instances at the same time as the pushrods will show this dip in hp across one point in the rpm scale. A good friend fix this issue with the BBC rockers he produces by changing the rocker arm "spine" on top of the rockers from wide to narrower towards the valve tip and it fix the dip in the dyno.
Ben, hope all is well. Suggestion for you, perhaps post the information to contact you for a consult session in your description on each video. I'll be contacting you in the not too far away for a private consultation.
Ben is one of my go to guys to learn performance engine tech
Thanks JC!
The soldiers have to march at the bridge's natural frequency (and also in phase). That's the key point.
Then we know things happen and you are correct.
Hello Ben, Liked your Videos, Nice to see you and your Bro. During my sisters wake. Take it easy see sometime.
Glad to have seen you Pinky and family. We keep in touch...
More great information.
Technical stuff is great.
Thank you Ben.

That would indeed freak me out if I was in between! lol

Just one piston, (springs) will stop you at high rpm grazy stuff 👍 tanks good videos .......
Thanks Dale!
Thanks 4 the video
Thanks Godin!

Every little bit of gain eventually taken as a whole is a winning advantage!
great video ben ,thank you, what brand spring do you recomend
Depends. What rpm are you willing to turn it?
Thank you for all your help
Glad to see your new video! I start to porting my 4V head and don't have enough information. Please tell us a little bit about it.
Will be coming up sir!
Awesome info.
Thanks 340!
Thank you sir. Another great video.
Thanks Hugh.

I've seen those mysterious dips many a time on Engine Masters and they just shrug it off.

Ben, What's the advantage of 10* locks over 7* locks?
10's can take higher spring pressures

I usually post my contact number at the start or end of the video. Thanks again for your support.
Engines are batch processors
I don't believe a flow bench replicates actuality.
I will be transforming my tech article @ Fb and do it to a video format. Basically what you are actually saying as true.
