... and after you paint, add a bunch of furniture, potted plants, mirrors, and big family pictures to completely hide 75% of your drywalling mistakes 😎
hahaha
or hang up a bunch of pictures, mirrors and posters.. no one will know
That’s funny 😂!
But it might be noticed by prospective buyers when you go to sell the house. Theres always going to be imperfections but if theyre all over the house or in critical areas someone might think twice about putting an offer in or lower their offer. Anybody can walk in a room and spend 5 minutes picking apart all the imperfections but if its noticeable right off the bat it's not good
😂😂
Still gonna do it the first way. And always will
If your a good taper you barely have any sanding at the end
The second method is way too slow, however it is fool proof.
Me too lol
Finishing my second drywall project right now with great success thanks to your videos. Thank you 🙏🏾
You've done all right mate...
Youve done allright...
When I was removing some adhesive, I discovered that a sanding sponge soaked in charcoal lighter fluid (side note: it's less flammable than you think) worked wonders to wet sand water-soluble surfaces. I had so much fun with it, I polished bits of the cieling to a glass-like finish
It’ll only create a groove If you use the sharp side, spin the damn block around and now you’re using it as intended, sanding a proper corner
First way is best but go light on the sanding as it’s intended. You want smooth walls with straight lines
But whenever I do the corner I do bit of a circular motion since I mostly care about the edged that feel bumpy… and then I give the edge a light sand
Thinking about using a pole sander to reduce workload for the ceiling… sanding by hand for wall might still be the most cost effective way besides owning an electric drywall sander
Try 120 grit sandpaper. Tried & true for decades
The first way was actually better. Good long strokes will make everything more level. If I saw someone sanding the other way I'd send them home.
or teach them proper technique...
Exactly this guys “techniques “ are a joke lol
That’s what I was thinking. I’m a general contractor and whenever I mud and sand afterwards I care about about those straight lines lol
The first way is just fine. Just make the sponge contact the wall more towards the corner and adjust pressure to the type of mud you're sanding.
Yep after hours upon hours of mudding my house... I had so many redo spots
Thanks for your video help lots of people like me ❤❤
I Sanded the wrong way... got bubbles in my tape, bad corners, and uneven extra compound. Painting tomorrow
Heh, well shit. Next time, more beer and less sanding like a noobie.
Experts. Let him have it!!!!
Or a wet sponge. No dust to clean
Thank you
Great advice 👍 thanks
I wish I saw this video last week while working on my kitchen 😅.
circular motions is the Is correct way
Thanks for the great video!
Lovely clip... Pleqse assost me 🙏... I have dry wall what was mist-coated and painted twice, not some some filling and samding. That area has become shiny. 😮😢 How do i make sure shiny area blens with rest and not visible
If you read the drywall instructions, it says to use a wet sponge
Good advice 😊
I have 15 year of personal experience of repairing old dry wall and the only thing I cant figure out is the final texture of the wall, even with the 3 layes of paint where the reparation is made the surface is way more smooth than the others surface without reparation, when light is in angle qe can see where the reparation occurred, anyone tips for that?
Always crosshatch...not up down or side to side.... used to be an autobody finisher
What's cross hatch. I'm about to start sanding lok
@@devin1820ify crosshatch is sanding at 45° opposite directions...sand in an X pattern
Very interesting thanks mate
No problem 👍
First way is superior, just don’t over sand.
Only wrong because YOU say its wrong?
That's what I was thinking
I mean you aren’t wrong but there are multiple ways to use the drywall sanding sponge. Good tip for DIYers
Read the bucket about the mud
Or do it at a 45° angle and it will be smooth
I'd be using a circular motion.
Said no drywaller ever lol😂
not really.. depending on what you need to do on that area.. every sandind method has his purpose
I could never do that get the ich from the scratching
Does the same advice apply to plaster
I like the other tip where the guy used a kitchen sponge that was wet to sand. No dust at all…
Wet sanding Doesn’t sand flat. Only good in some applications.
@@johnnybravado1030 Yeah. Like in my case I'm selling this house. The wall looks absolutely great upon casual inspection. But if you shine a flash light at it, you can see all the imperfections.
Only dry sanding will get you the best results. But in my case, I didn't want to make a mess and only needed an economy job done.
How do you repair a popcorn ceiling?
Name of tool please
Can you do a vid on how to get drywall sheets into the basement (if you haven't already). I'd especially like to see any method getting sheets down a flight of basement stairs with a landing and 180 turn. Thanks for all the great vids by the way.
Nah, wrong sponge
cut opposite corners of your sponges and no line ... your welcome
Lol sure bud
Why is the first way incorrect???
Na, random orbital hooked to a festool ct26
GOOD GRIEF.....JUST STOP SANDING... Pros who do this for a living 24/7 DON'T SAND!!!!!
Yes we do. Sanding is a must. We just don't do it like this.
@@jamiemcgavran5405 Why? why do you sand. I don't get it...all our joints are feathered and smooth. The only thing we might sand is the bullnose corners just to get the left overs off.
@@rjcontra just stop it. Every taper sands to some extent. If you say you don't I would be willing to bet your work looks like crap.
👍👍👍
Both ways are wrong tho
Nah sand at a diagonal
I had to watch this with no volume. It sounded like nails on a chalkboard.
The sanding or the presenter. Drywall is just drywall ? Glad I watched this to find out.
Lolol he doesn’t know how to use a drywall sponge
Sheetrock finishing, so easy-even a caveman can do it!
"just drywall"
Famous last words for DIY:ers
DIYer here. It's fine. You will learn on your third job. Problem is that your first screw up is already painted...
My ears
I’m with you. I would have to put in ear plugs to do that job.
Lol
Please leave the video’s to real professional’s. 4/5 of your vid’s I’ve 😬 cringed…
Both are wrong but I'm a hater
