But it might be noticed by prospective buyers when you go to sell the house. Theres always going to be imperfections but if theyre all over the house or in critical areas someone might think twice about putting an offer in or lower their offer. Anybody can walk in a room and spend 5 minutes picking apart all the imperfections but if its noticeable right off the bat it's not good

If your a good taper you barely have any sanding at the end

Try 120 grit sandpaper. Tried & true for decades
It’ll only create a groove If you use the sharp side, spin the damn block around and now you’re using it as intended, sanding a proper corner
The first way is just fine. Just make the sponge contact the wall more towards the corner and adjust pressure to the type of mud you're sanding.

The first way was actually better. Good long strokes will make everything more level. If I saw someone sanding the other way I'd send them home.

That’s what I was thinking. I’m a general contractor and whenever I mud and sand afterwards I care about about those straight lines lol
When I was removing some adhesive, I discovered that a sanding sponge soaked in charcoal lighter fluid (side note: it's less flammable than you think) worked wonders to wet sand water-soluble surfaces. I had so much fun with it, I polished bits of the cieling to a glass-like finish

First way is best but go light on the sanding as it’s intended. You want smooth walls with straight lines
But whenever I do the corner I do bit of a circular motion since I mostly care about the edged that feel bumpy… and then I give the edge a light sand
Thinking about using a pole sander to reduce workload for the ceiling… sanding by hand for wall might still be the most cost effective way besides owning an electric drywall sander

I Sanded the wrong way... got bubbles in my tape, bad corners, and uneven extra compound. Painting tomorrow

Lovely clip... Pleqse assost me 🙏... I have dry wall what was mist-coated and painted twice, not some some filling and samding. That area has become shiny. 😮😢 How do i make sure shiny area blens with rest and not visible

I have 15 year of personal experience of repairing old dry wall and the only thing I cant figure out is the final texture of the wall, even with the 3 layes of paint where the reparation is made the surface is way more smooth than the others surface without reparation, when light is in angle qe can see where the reparation occurred, anyone tips for that?

I like the other tip where the guy used a kitchen sponge that was wet to sand. No dust at all…
Wet sanding Doesn’t sand flat. Only good in some applications.
@@johnnybravado1030 Yeah. Like in my case I'm selling this house. The wall looks absolutely great upon casual inspection. But if you shine a flash light at it, you can see all the imperfections.
Only dry sanding will get you the best results. But in my case, I didn't want to make a mess and only needed an economy job done.

not really.. depending on what you need to do on that area.. every sandind method has his purpose
Can you do a vid on how to get drywall sheets into the basement (if you haven't already). I'd especially like to see any method getting sheets down a flight of basement stairs with a landing and 180 turn. Thanks for all the great vids by the way.

Yes we do. Sanding is a must. We just don't do it like this.
@@jamiemcgavran5405 Why? why do you sand. I don't get it...all our joints are feathered and smooth. The only thing we might sand is the bullnose corners just to get the left overs off.
