As a student who is currently taking classes in business, this video was fantastic. Thanks for creating it, and delivering it in such a wonderful & engaging way. Really appreciate the clarity & ease of understanding of the information being delivered.
This is by far the BEST video and discussion I have seen on SWOT analysis and how to implement the quadrants. OUTSTANDING work, Erica! Thank you very much.

Thank you for the video. Just two points: the background music is not necessary, I found myself distracted by it. Also consider wearing a Mike to cut down on echo.
Well presented, thanks. Please let us know which video you had in mind in respect to 'putting the swot together' 5:40 and 'competetive advantage' 6:25.
Really well explained in quick way. Helped me add some perspective to the whole SWOT analysis. Would love to see a real example of a business before and after SWOT analysis. Like, what the initial SWOT was before, and then after conducting a consultation and coming up with the reputable research - what was found post SWOT analysis. We are doing a project in college on this for marketing + management class. Would be great to see a good example of this.
I have been using your 1st video on this subject in my Principles of Management class over the past 5 years. Starting this year, I found this NEW UPDATED version...and I like it so much better !!! Good Job (as I would tell my students) !!!
Great video. Thank you for taking the time to put something together that is so well summarized. One suggestion I have, you may want to invest in some better sound equipment. The video is just a little hard to hear at times.
1- Strengths: They may include some of the following elements: - Availability of sufficient capital for investment. - Availability of sources of supply of raw materials and their accessibility in a timely manner. - Availability of the necessary experience for the project owner, which facilitates the process of management and follow-up work and amendment to the workers. - Understanding and awareness of the owner of the project management arts helps to manage the legitimate success and thus classified this point within the strengths. - The location of the project and the ease of transportation leading to the mechanism, which facilitates access to raw materials and supply of products. - Proper planning and organization and the ability to expand the future.
i failed my exams and i'm gonna become a drug lord and kill all the idiots who made these useless analysis with their shit names. especially you boston something.
I prefer the volume on previous versions. Regarding SWOT. The list you have at bottom is good. Perhaps, you could do a similar one on Porter's 5 Forces as it encompasses more. thanks for sharing.
Thank you very much about this video. You did mention about the video how to process out action plan from the SWOT Analysis as well as identify company competitive advantages. I couldn't find it though. Could you show me the link?
Awesome video, Erica. Great job! I'll memorize your perspective at 4:36 that "there are always more Ws (weaknesses) than there are Ts (threats)." My family's business shares the exact same weakness as WikiLeaks, a publication made up of almost impossible to source sources (secret informants).
There may always be more weaknesses than threats, however threats can more quickly and strongly derail a business than weaknesses. Unless a weakness is a huge weakness in a very core area of a business, I typically recommend business owners focus on leveraging their strengths vs. trying to fix or improve weaknesses. Do more of what you're good at and stop trying to fix something at which you are fundamentally not good.
Great video, I think you should also make another one about how we can use SWOT Analysis on Business Ideas. Maybe it's a bit different, but I think SWOT can be used for that purposes too.
thanks for this great video...I learn so much....I also build my content on my channel to empower people in Indonesia...your video give me inspiration...many many thanks
Another great video..! Al topics are well explained, brief, to the point. Really spectacular source of information..! I use them quite frequently. (Area of improvement: the sound quality. Low volumen and high echo, make it difficult to understand. Your video produced 8 years ago about the same topic, has much better sound). Thanks a lot, Erica..!
Hello .. In the beginning i want say thank you and nice too meet you .. Me too .. Your opinion and my opinion are the same things to knew market needed is important instead but do you know maslow pyramid of theory these things famous is call hierarchy of needs is important too i think .. By the way thanks for your presentations ..
Is this something that would benefit a small business? We will only have 1-8 employees at any time for the foreseeable future. The only issue I see is getting market data to help with the analysis.
Okay I'm a bit confused. In another video on strategic planning you gave "4 Phases of Planning," 1. Assess (SWOT) , 2. Design. 3. Build, and 4. Manage. Now in this video, you said in the O quadrant, you are looking for competitive advantages, even though SWOT is supposed to be evaluating where you're at in your company. In this video it sounds forward thinking, and it skips right to #2 in the 4 phases of planning, in particular the "design" phase. In the SWOT wouldn't you be looking back on missed opportunities , or ops the company did take advantage of? I guess all I'm saying is that you seem to be incorporating the other planning phases into the assessment phase. So why are you looking at "future" opportunities in the SWOT? Thanks! I'm learning a lot from you.
Thanks for the great presentation. Yet, what are the differences between strategic analysis and SWOT analysis? As the majority of strategic plans involve separate country and global analysis in addition to SWOT analysis.
SWOT analysis is a subset of strategic planning. Strategic planning is an extremely broad term and consists of many tools like PESTLE, BCG matrix etc. It is for you to decide the tools that are the most useful to you, but some like SWOT are the basics that are applicable to all industries.
you're good because you talk clearly, direct to the point, clarify things and above all passionate. Therefore you are not boring.

Thank you so very much!
One of the best SWOT presentation - clear and easy to understand.
00:12 SWOT analysis helps create a synthesized view of your organization's current state.
01:14 SWOT analysis involves assessing internal and external perspectives
01:59 Bring in data sources to enhance your SWOT analysis
02:50 External data sources are important for a SWOT analysis
03:47 Perform SWOT analysis by gathering current market information and understanding top competitors
04:34 Differentiate between Weaknesses and Opportunities to ensure accurate analysis
05:23 Renaming the quadrant to 'Areas of Improvement'
06:13 Performing a SWOT analysis helps identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
Simple. To the point. Clear. Full of information. Greatest. Thank you Erica 💕
You are so welcome!

Wow, she is better than most professors. Exactly, the output of the SWOT will never be used lol
In OSH implementation of SWOT
(ISO 45001)
Strenght and weakness are internal
Opportunities and Threats are external.
im referencing this for a speculative business plan so some of it doesn't map on perfectly, but still helpful
Samples on certain issues should be state for better understanding but overall it really helps
