strategy does not equal planning. Strategy is a theory made up of a strategy e.g what field we will play on, logic model/programme model. resources and internal structure.
Yes. A vision can be for any timeline. It doesn't always have to be for very grand and distant timelines. The lower the rank of the entity putting together the vision statement, the nearer in time it tends to be. As an example, someone who just started a new job, may have a vision of where they would be to be in 6 months; organizationally, financially, network-wise. Hope this clarifies.
A plan is not a strategy. Its a check list. Strategy is a set of choices. Those choices must create the highest possibility of compelling your customers to give you their money. Choose to play in the markets where you can win. What playing field will we play on? Why that one and not another? What capabilities must we have to win on the field we choose to play on?
@ProjectManagementVideos exactly what I stated. Make specific choices on where you will play and why. Choose how you will win. Prove your theories to win are true (what must be true for this to work?) Ask if you ha e the capabilities to win where you ha e chosen to play. Your choices must create the greatest possibility of compelling your customer to give you their money. Do your choices do that.

Once you have a strategy, you need a plan to execute it. That is the strategic plan
