Hopefully there were no injuries to anyone related to this incident, yeah the back and top of that house were really cooking as the video opened. Glad that it was a vacant building. Thank you to all firefighters everywhere for protecting the citizens of your coverage area.
The ratio of standing around vs spraying liquidy stuff on a burning house has me curious. Why send all those trucks there when one ladder truck was apparently all that they were gonna use?
You would be wrong @ 3:24 you can clearly see an interior attack was already in progress But thanks for confirming that you have no idea what you are even looking at
Why were they even on that porch roof ? No but seriously, this was some kind of controlled burn right ? You know like an experiment on what happens when you Don’t apply water to the burning structure ? 🤦🏻♂️
Wieso lässt man das Haus nicht einfach abbrennen, ist sowieso nichts mehr zu retten? Nur unnötige Verschwendung von Wasser 🙄🙄🙄🙄 Viele Grüsse aus Germany
Not the most aggressive fire attack I've ever seen. A terrible waste of fire fighting resources. Why would you send in a crew knowing full well the roof has collapsed and it's a derelict building? So you set up a ladder truck to do what exactly?
you would think they would knock all these houses down, but they are too busy spending all the money on the riverfront and downtown. it's already beautiful, voted #1) for the past 6 years in a row.
You have any idea what the cost to tear down a home and haul all that debris away is? There are THOUSANDS of homes like this all over the Detroit area. Where is the money going to come from?
@@trvman1 of course i know it cost. You miss my point, not all at once. But the ones that are in bad shape or have been on fire before. If that's the case, where are they getting the money to keep upgrading the riverfront?
Here's a hint: the fire is knocking it down for free. There's a documentary about Detroit FD, their current commissioner has a 'let it Rip' policy. Abandoned homes are allowed to burn down, or fought defensively, less risk to firefighters and one less abandoned home.
I watch these videos on a good size screen with my computer, never on a phone, I hate phones. You have got to have the best quality video out there, very high def. So I am subscribing and eventually will check out older videos when I have some time. Keep it up!
Simple-it’s called risk assessment. Risk a lot /save a lot, risk a little/save a little. Vacant property with no exposures is not worth getting a firefighter injured.
These firemen have absolutely no hustle. Standing around blabbing to each other while the house burns. Seems that they waited until the whole house was engulfed in flames before I ever saw any water sprayed. Very slow moving men.
Correct, too many guys were getting badly injured going into these dumps. So they let it burn(as they should) especially if exposure is not an issue. Would you risk your life for shitholes like these?
Why the Mayor and City Council allow these buildings to exist should be brought out into the Public Light.. They could easily use all the Unemployed to destroy these places before Firemen get hurt or killed... Instead they buy Millions of dollars in Fire Equipment and payments for injured Firemen... Jerks...

Glad I don't live in Detroit
I’m glad you don’t, either. Stay where you are.
I don't think they rush to put abandoned building fires out. That way they aren't back when they light it on fire again.
All they needed was baked potatoes, marshmallows and some fireworks and it would have been a great lads night out lol😅
Should have brought some cards. Give them something to do instead of standing around

...urban renewal...
11 minutes into this video until the first bit of water was applied, if it was a vacant house, why waste the water at that point !

Now you’re catching on. It should be obvious.

What about fixing up some of these old houses for our homeless veterans?
Most are in such poor shape it would be easier to build new housing
Okay... So what is stopping you?
As I type this there are over 1,000 homes for sale under $30,000 in the Detroit metro
Go for it

@@trvman1 ...not much to haul away if it all burns up... ; ^ ))
Looks like the water got there a little late.
It really didn't matter. This is part of Detroit's urban renewal.

8 Mile Part 2?
How could anyone stand and watch house burn. Call for 2 ladder towers would of taken 2 alarm to 3 alarm ....

It's an ARSON JOB on an abandoned property! YOU wanna risk YOUR life on this crap, go for it! Firefighters did the right thing, idiot!
Why should they when these are abandoned death traps?
But thanks for confirming your ignorance on the subject

Yup
I was actually surprised when they made entry for an interior attack at 3:24

Maybe the fire department could use these abandoned properties for training before someone sets them on fire. Just a thought.
What about simply fixing them up for the homeless to live, or someone needing out of the weather? Some of these structures are salvageable
I am sure they are so many properties and very expensive to rehab but still sad to see those old homes destroyed@@GUNSAMURAIFD
How naive. Uninformed.
