There seems to be varying ideas - many conflicting! One issue often brought up is the gasses as it burns off - if you have a very well ventilated kiln that may not be an issue. Wax gives of some pretty hazardous fumes too. I have seen some latex brands that explicitly say they are fine to burn of in a kiln. Another issue I have heard brought up is that latex has a higher burning off temp and can get messy as it burns in the kiln. I really don't know about this. The worst part of latex is cleaning brushes or sponge - but I have heard that washing the brushes with olive oil before using latex helps make the clean up much easier!
Love the spot effect on these wide bowls!
Thanks, cheers!
Thank you.
I like these for fruit on the counter! 🥝🍍🍎
Definitely good for 🍑 🍏 🍌
Beautiful bowls, would love to see how you make a sink in this shape.
Love your videos ❤
Great idea, I think it would work as a sink!
Just curious why you chose latex that you have to remove instead of wax you can leave on when firing. Nice videos.
A couple of reasons....Wax produces some fumes when firing and I find latex versatile.... If I get it wrong I can easily peel it of and go again
What are the dimensions for this bowl?
Good question, the bowl is 30cm x 8 cm dimensions as i make it.
Can't you just fire the bowl and the latex will burn off?? Like wax resistance. Thanks!!
