      @@GarminInt Titling a video "affordable" then not including prices, and not making them available without contacting you suggest that this equipment is perhaps not that affordable after all. Your competitors in this market make price information much more accessible. The problem for a potential buyer is compounded by the alphabet soup of alternative models and options. It is very difficult to find a comprehensive overview of the Garmin avionics system.

      @@slideslipping The system as displayed would set you back around 30,000 dollars, including installation. 6000 for the g5's, 5,000 for the autopilot, 5000 for the transponder, 4000 for the navcom, aera 660 $850, panel dock 130, plus installation costs. That is indeed not affordable at all.

    Can you use a GAD 29 to connect an aera 760 to a dual G5 set up for GPS guidance on the HSI?

    • @GarminInt
      @GarminInt  3 роки тому +1

      Yes, this is a great VFR solution. Additionally, the interface is directly from the aera 760 to the G5. You only require the GAD 29 should you desire to provide heading to another manufacturers’ autopilot. ^DK

    Are these able to turn the brightness down for nightvison devices like a pvs15 or pvs 21 etc. NVG COMPATIBLE MODE

      The backlight intensity can be adjusted manually by the pilot and to your preference. Thank you for considering Garmin.

    Is an external magnetometer required for magnetic heading indication?

    • @GarminInt
      @GarminInt  3 роки тому +2

      In short, yes. The G5 and G3X Touch systems leverage a Garmin Magnetometer to derive magnetic heading for display on these products. ^DK

    How do you toggle the OBS and GS between GPS and VOR/ILS? My understanding is that an option should be available on the PFD display but mine lacks that option. Is there a setting that needs to be adjusted? I’ve a GNX-375 and GNC-255 tied to my G5. The GNC VOR works fine with its own OBS and feeds an RMI on the G5 so I know they’re talking, but I can’t toggle thus get no glideslope from it. The GPS works well both OBS and RMI style on the G5 with its own map and OBS on itself.

      Hi Jim, assuming everything is wired and configured correctly, press on the knob and select the source navigator there. Thank you for being a Garmin customer.

    My ercoupe qualifies as an LSA. Can I put this version of the G5 into it?

    • @GarminInt
      @GarminInt  2 роки тому

      Hi John, if the aircraft is type certificated, it will require the certificated version. I do see the Ercoupe listed on the AML STC under the Aircraft Make/TCDS holder as Univar. More information here: static.garmin.com/pumac/sa01818wi_2109.pdf. If you have further questions regarding the designation of your aircraft, I'd recommend talking with your local Garmin dealer to help review your aircraft specifically.

    I don’t see a pitch setting when I go in settings mode. What am I doing wrong?

    • @GarminInt
      @GarminInt  3 роки тому

      It's hard to diagnose via social without much more detail. But I suspect this may be due to the differences between the version designed for experimental aircraft/home builders and the certificated version found in production aircraft.
