Very nice build, i really like the airbrushed detailing. i have wanted to get one of these mato tanks for a while but am unsure about the reliability of them. i have heard that because of the weight of the tank the gearboxes have problems. i guess it must be due to the fasteners coming loose.
The reliability issues was something that I did encounter, but it wasn't with the gearbox. This was fixed with the fastener mod that I did. However for me the reliability problems was with the electronics. In a nutshell everything outside of the stock gearbox was garbage and needed to be replaced. I'll be going over this in part 3 of this video set
@@oddball759mm That's interesting cause it's destroys plastic..and I found that it does-don't ask LOL...I' use Threebond, some other type of silicone Permatex ...on metal to plastic...keeps the screw from loosening, backing out....interesting though...! Nice work here !!!!
Is wunderful Modell😊
You make epic things :) yuour so skilled at your work

Can these tanks be driven on grass without loosing the tracks like the plastic ones?
yes, because of the adjustable idler system these run better off road. Same can be said about the taigen tanks too
How much is a mato metal tiger 1?
They run about USD $600.00 on ebay
Very good review!! RC Tank Hero
You use loctite on metal screw in plastic?
there is no plastic on this model, even though yes in the past I have used loctite on a metal screw in plastic with no issues

@@carlmayer691 thanks for the info, something to look into for sure
Is there a mato ir
Yes there is. This one was IR, but was replaced with airsoft as the stock system didn't work.
do you just leave the battery plugged in all of the time
isnt it bad for the battery to never un plug it?
yes. I never had an issue with it on these type of models. On the larger 1/6th scale builds is where that becomes more of an issue
@@oddball759mm your battery is a tamiya plug NIMH battery? Im planning to do the same thing on my taigen early tiger 1
@@baileydevries4494 yes
@@oddball759mm thanks
My heng long Tiger has metal with rubber on all the wheels!!
