I bought one of these and am disappointed to find that the turret is a 1/4” too long from front to rear. The gun mantlet/turret extends too far forward. So far, that the mantlet is over top of the forward hull hatches, blocking them from opening when the gun is facing forward. I put this tank side by side with my Tamiya Tiger. The Tamiya turret is proportioned correctly and does not block the hatches from opening. This is a BIG mistake by Taigen which CANNOT be fixed without performing MAJOR surgery to shorten the forward half of the turret. In addition, the loader’s periscope is positioned incorrectly on the turret roof and there should be NO Zimmerit on the upward facing front panel of the hull. The tow shackle supports on the front are incorrect, they should be notched. It has the wrong early large muzzle brake. I could go on and on with all the things that are completely incorrect on this model for a late Tiger, in addition to what you already “fixed”.
@Parker Darian I really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and im waiting for the hacking stuff now. I see it takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
... *BRADLEY MASTER GUNNER* APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why would you choose a plastic hull to do such upgrades?
Because the metal one is harder to work on, more expensive and is not as good as the plastic version.
