- I made this video to maybe help or inspire people that are new to the rc tank hobby.
I'm by no means any expert, I been into rc tanks for little over 1.5 years, but i'm just really having fun with it :)

My wife and I have just gotten the Heng Long M1 Abrams and T-90 Pro models, with both airsoft and IR (bb's to chase mice, IR for tank battles).
Great units - once we learn how to use them (there's a LOT going on in there)!
I only buy standard RC models for a low price and then upgrade them with photo-etched parts, including some camouflage paintings with airbrush or brush! Not everyone can afford expensive RC tank Pro version models, it's all a question of cost, what you want and metal parts such as the hull, rollers, drive and tire wheels, chains, stronger batteries, etc...

These are great models, I use the same gearboxes in my bullet proof RC tanks

I own six Henglong tanks and they are good enough for me! Torro are so darn expensive. I would rather spend the grand on a car that does 100mph. I have several of those!

Nice video Martin. I recently got into the hobby and bought the Heng Long Leopard 2A6 Upgrade edition and I'm having a blast with it. I agree with you, the motors in these tanks make them move in an unnatural manner, from standing still to gone if you are not careful with the joystick..
Thx bro. U can make it better w some upgrades. It not hard to do. U can also get lot better control w better radio system

Nice tank collection! I’m really not a fan of the Torro tanks! Their idea of all metal is plastic & cheap alloy! You should check out the Mato all metal collection! Sure they are a little bit more money, everything is metal except for the turret ring! You get the 5 to 1 ratio steel gearboxes which are very nice units by the way , you get way better tracks, all Metal Drive, road wheels, idler’s upper & lower chassis, suspension, Turret & gun barrel!
Great comment thank u😊 but I'm not interiraly on board. I know about Mato tanks, and yes they do look appealing to me..all metal tanks are cool. I know the one I unbox had a old style crappy gearbox (not expected) but most of my other taigen/torro has same quality as the Mato ones (I'm pretty sure) hard metal and low gear ratio.
Here is my pros and cons with taigen/torro tanks. I dont have a Mato so all I based on watching does.
Torro pros:
Cheap to buy (compared to Mato)
Lighter weight means easy to carry/transport
Plastic can be molded and shaped if u wanna create some heavy weathering effects (etc fenders)
Lighter weight means better run time on your battery and less stress on the mechanics
Mato:
Mega cool factor of have a all metal tank
Running better motherboard and always has great gearboxes out the box.
I think all the tanks a great(some u may have to upgrade a little bit)
I think what u choose is totally up to u and what u would like to do with your tank. (Ii it a showpiece or a regular driver?)
I feel confident enough to say, that none of the knowned brands are bad. Just a avoid the no brand China toy things!
The Tiger has the cool right sound!
What brand do you recommend mostly?
I was thinking about KV1 or KV2 or walker bulldog.
I'd like to upgrade it to the full metal. But haven't seen metal chasis for those models. Just for tiger1.

Let's be honest...how many shots could the strumtiger hold internally? 2? 3 if one is already loaded? 4 if the commander doesn't like the driver? Then there's the "Fritz! Load ze vepon! SHNELL! Hanz! Assist Fritz unt you vill help also" (it takes the driver, gunner and radio all to get the launcher ready to fire it's next shot).
Lol yeah, it must has been followed by a convoy of ammo trucks!
What is the stock gear ratio on the Taigen /Torro? Am looking at my 1st purchase; probably a Jagdtiger or late Tiger from one or the other company. Hate the sound & track recoil on those I’ve researched.
Think its 4.1 maybe. U want 5.1. Change electronics to an Elmod tank bord! See differences in my video.

was wondering about zinc alloy, as its now a version of the challenger 2 tank. im glad i saw this video, dont do cheap crap in RC world as it can be very expensive down the line.

Congrats on the video. Very helpful in showing the real change of speed with both gearboxes. I was mesmerized with 007, since I built and customized one that´s pretty similar to Yours, and that´s why I´m thinking in getting a new gearbox and tank board. Have You tried the Clark boards?
Thank you my friend 😊👍 i have only tried Elmod so far and they work very well. How ever I have heard that the new generation Clark boards are really good.
For me personally I'm not that good with setting up electronics, so I like elmod app, its pretty easy to use once you figure out the functions. I know that some other boards don't have a app, so you programming all functions via a set button and a series of beebs. I think that's something to consider 👍

They still need to work on quieting down the servos on some of these RC tanks! I'm away to purchase one at end of the month a heng long might go for a tiger or Sherman I like your 007 that's cool !

Im going to buy the Sherman m4a3 from amewi as my starter rc tank.It has metal tracks and some other metal parts too.It will arrive next week and im looking forward driving it around :D

Are those zinc gears for the motors on the torro pro edition?
On this it is, I guess it's a older model. U can usually tell by the color. The steel ones painted black most often, vile the sink ones just look what they are cheap metal.
