I’m just now discovering the genius of Kristin Linklater and I’m sad I didn’t discover it sooner! Finally starting to work through her book. It’s helping me resolve my own issues of vulnerability too. Kristin is as the kids say the OG, the GOAT (greatest of all time), and will surely be missed. 💜
Your work changed my life in grad school. So beautiful to hear how full and bright and free you are! I continue my poor fumbling at your work to this day and it continues to change me. Much love from Atlanta, GA, USA.
I hadn’t realized she’d died! Her book was the first vocal book I ever used, and after trying other books, I keep coming back to hers. A pity I never got to thank her.
Fantastic! Kristin is THE voice teacher who left me with the biggest impression eveeeer. How she embodies her work so beautifully. I adore her and her work. More of these jewels please!!
This exercise is really helpful in helping me connect and to explore the use of the voice and the effects It can have with working on measures for measure and bring the thoughts out of my head and putting the thought into the body. for my final part of my uni training. Thank you so much your amazing. We talk about your work so much.
@@kristinlinklatervoicecentre And since this is the closest I will ever get to connecting with you I will steal the opportunity to say that "Freeing the Natural Voice" improved my life in countless ways - Thank you from my heart!
Has anyone else mentioned accessing repressed memories while performing your exercises? When doing the first exercise in your book for the 1st time a repressed traumatic memory surfaced. I had no memory of the event, and it very suddenly unlocked a memory of an assault I had zero memory of until that moment. I imagine I’m not the only one when so many people have read your book. I’m wondering if your methods have potential applications in the field of psychology.
Great exercise. Also, if you start watching the video at 0:20 instead of from the very beginning, it takes on a whole different feel (for me, it's either deeply creepy or spectacularly funny).
