This video was incredible. I used to act a lot in high school and have slacked on my voice training since then. This video really helped me with my stuttering and breath work. Thank you, you’re amazing!!
I know this video was uploaded 1 year ago, but it's my favorite vocal warmup! I'm interested in pursuing voice acting so I've been using it daily, and I've seen such a difference in the clarity and tone of my voice already. Thank you so much 😊❤
Hello, dear Anysia! Thank you so much for leaving this feedback! You have encouraged me so much! I'm thrilled that your voice is benefitting from it. Keep up the good work and blessings on your voice acting career! Go get 'em, girl! You got this!
@@TheVoiceLoveCo Thank you Christi! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 Yes please continue uploading coaching videos, I'll be looking through more on your channel. You're delightful 😁
this is fun. it amuses me how i feel slightly embarrassed doing the warm up. im relatively new to talking for four hours and just jumped in as a complete amateur. im learning about all kinds of things that affect voice performance and endurance that i never would have imagined. just talking sounds easy right? nope. ive surrendered and now im seeking out this kind of information. thanks for the vid
In just under a year of voice acting, I've finally landed a big gig and found that I was getting worn out pretty quickly during my reads, which were also taking a while to do in a satisfactory way. I never needed to do more than a few minutes here and there, as needed for auditions, but now I'm recording for a couple hours and I was feeling it. This certainly helped and scripts that were taking ten minutes to read, were dropping down to just under six. Big improvement for the first time, so thank you very much for this great warm up video! My wife was giving me strange looks when I walked in the kitchen to put up my tea mug, wondering what all that commotion was...lol
I have been sharing this exercise as daily homework with my acting students. It helps them (and me) kick butt with voice overs , acting, singing and eliminating depression~! So thank you!
I was looking for a voice warm-up routine to do every day, specifically for actors. So glad to find your channel and this video! Looking forward to more :)
This helped so much. Two months ago I stopped smoking cigarettes and drinking alcohol. Those two destroyed my voice. This video has given me confidence to this each day and start auditioning again. Thank you.
I'm a voice actor, and this was so helpful! I feel warmed up and energized before I begin my session. Thanks so much for your great guidance and exercises.❤
Thank you for this incredible video. At last I found a vocal workout that's focused on the actual workout and not on talking about it for 20 minutes. Much appreciated ❤
This is honestly good not only for voice acting but also good for vocals in some aspects as well, I think. I'm a beginner and starting to delve into using my speaking and singing voice a little bit late in the game. I'm starting to use these warm-ups, and I'm noticing more versatility, range, and stamina in my voice. Thank you so much for this.
How wonderful to find your videos! As often happens, one thing led to another in that serendipitous way for lack of better word. I am subscribed to a couple of Queen channels, and like you was enthused to hear of the new release of 'Time'. I notice voice coach videos often as I peruse this vast oddity called UA-cam. That comment dates me perhaps. I'm 63. To the point, for some reason I chose your video and your reaction to Freddie's "Time". I was touched.., had my Kleenex also! What an extraordinary man he was, a trailblazer in many ways. 20+ years ago my then teen son was listening to Queen music, that being my 2nd time to really hear this man's voice, the first as a teen myself when Queen came onto the music scene. ( Must have been very cool to attend the concert you mentioned.) Now, inspired by the movie I've spent more in earnest time studying the miracle that was Freddie Mercury, which has to include his voice. A long comment from me I know, just wanted to share how I got to your channel!. My history has been one of yoga, meditation & conscious breathing starting in natural childbirth classes in 1976. I realized a year later when I landed in a yoga class this was worth investing time in. I recognizeed yogic breathing techniques were being taught in the child birth classes, and later in many other self help classes. All good. Years later I was an assistant to a teacher of Kundalini Yoga (as taught by Yogi Bhajan), & taught self improvement/meditation classes, all of which relied on both breath and voice work techniques to help clear/strengthen the body/mind. Ok. Current:, I am older, working with illness, less able to do yoga, and fell back from the discipline needed for what I called ' daily breathing' & chanting. I am working towards getting those vital mechanisms back in place and really appreciate this video. I've gone through it twice today. ( Will probably go somewhere in my car to let my voice loose.Ha..I live in an apartment with thin walls, & noticed that I was holding back on projection.; - ) And I am very rusty. I have hopes of being in the public by next year, certainly developing my voice/breath is needed and working with all your content here is so helpful! Loved the jaw release work, amazing how we can clench the jaw unawares! Apologies for a tome of a comment. Gratitude for your being there!!. Subscribed & interested. Have a great day!
How marvelous to hear from you today! WELCOME, dear Deborah. It is a rare thing indeed to find people actually interested in singing who find me via the reaction videos. This is a new format to me, so I'm learning so many things as I go along, and you finding me this way is a huge encouragement. Keep breathing, keep singing, keep being engaged and interested! Loved reading your story! The voice is a muscle and it can be gently stretched back into service. I highly recommend doing lots of 'lip trills' or buzzing as I call them. I'm constantly talking about this technique because it connects your breathing with your singing while keeping the larynx relaxed. Keep at it if it is stop and start at first. And doing what you can with yoga again would be marvelous for your voice as well. Even if it is chair yoga to start. Keep in touch. You've made my day today!😍
@Deborah Montgomery I'm checking on you. How are you? Hope you are continuing to strengthen and condition your body and voice through your breathing practice. I'd love an update!
Thanks for an amazing video. I watch you every time before I teach a class or before every rehearsals and/or auditions and I gotta tell you, you have helped me so much with this video so thank you ❤
I love this.. Ive literally been doing this every time before working on a script! it gets me going and less anxious. Please make more! they are great!! :)
Great voice exercises. Liked the fact that the Christi kept up a pace, down to us to pause and try again if an exercise proved difficult. I have only done this once, but I am intending to tackle the exercises I found a little tricky until I improve!
and yes my voice suddenly started feeling different. It is more clear, depth and the dialogues are better because of the right breathing. So, thanks again
