You know, you honestly are the best South Park reactor. So many reactors are just clueless, but you actually get the references and even invite the viewers to explain ones you don't know. I feel like I lose brain cells when I watch some reactors, but I come away from your videos feeling elucidated. It's so good to have you back.
Exactly this is the reason I prefer Dash the most. You feel educated in entertaining way. I didn't know maybe half of the references they mention in the show, and I'm a 20+ year South park fan. It's great to have someone explain stuff I didn't catch. Some of these reactors do not get like 90% of the references during an entire episode (and yes, it's painful) 😄
The implication at the end is that Father Maxi accepts the heckling for the safety of the kids. He doesn't know who would replace him, so he protects this community by taking the heckles. They can snark because they're safe, and there's pride in that. BIG respect to Father Maxi for that. He is what I believe is referred to as "a real one."
Exactly. The people of South Park make fun of this whole situation with priests and clearly don't take any of catholicism all that seriously. But they don't go after Father Maxi cuz they know he is actually good and caring priest. As you said the reason why they make fun of these weekly congregations is cus they feel safe with Father Maxi. He truly is a protector.
What's interesting to me is that Dash has another youtube channel called "The Japan Guy", he hasn't posted there for a couple of years and people sometimes get worried about him over there, too. Hoping for everything to be ok. Dash just wins everyone over, he's our Butters, lmao.

Would have loved an "I'm fine just on a break for a while!" post on his Community tab so we knew he was still alive and not been hurt.

I remember as a kid (like grade 7 so 12-13 years old) being on a week long school field trip and our teachers all of a sudden weren't anywhere to be found. Then they all come in at once with this look on their face you could just tell something was wrong. Every kid on our field trip (Like 50-60 of us) were called in to this big room. The vice principal had come on this trip so he took the lead, he stood up and told us that someone with the church (turned out to be one of the priest in training) right beside our school (Catholic school) that we went to very often was caught doing things to children, including an altar boy at the church. The principal told us that our parents were already contacted and that the police were involved and were concerned that there may have been more victims and that if any of the kids in that room were touched or felt the person involved did anything inappropriate to them that they would need to know and that we could go to them after the talk/meeting concluded so that no other kids would know something had happened to them. I remember the whole aura that day was just doom and gloom, the teachers all looked horrified thinking that us kids may have been abused by this priest in training. As our parents were involved and more information came out we found out 3 of the kids on that field trip had something happen to them, obviously we didn't know which specific students but it was crazy. They found CP on his computer, there ended up being 5 or 6 victims in total. It was a mess. That was 18 years ago now and I still remember it like it was yesterday.
My nana went to church every Sunday from the age of 6 till the age of 91, then she got too frail and ill to do anything and just wanted to die as all of her friends already had. After 6 more years of not being able to; even after continuing to pray; she ended up denouncing her faith after 91 years of it. As she said after a whole life of dedicated faith what sort of god wouldn't allow her to rest and continue to suffer. Her words were "what a wasted time of my life", they say learn from your elders and it made me not worry about a faith.
I love this episode! ALso, the guy who voices the bishop and sings the ''faith in Christ'' song is Rory O'Malley, who played Elder McKinley in "The Book of Mormon'' musical.
Matt and Trey did a interview where they said they was kinda jealous in a way of what people find in religion and how nice mormons are to them even tho they kind of made fun of them. They also said when asked how long they would do south park "we said in our twenties we would never do it in our forties but now we are in our 40s, then one said we definitely wont do it in our 50s that would be sad and we will stop before then" so I see it as depending on their age. We prolly have less than 10 years left of new south park.
I was brought up very religious. Sunday church, church camp, and sunday school. I stopped believing as an adult. I respect peoples right to religion of any faith. All I ask in return is that you dont preach to me...

What surprises me, is the sheer volume of reactions you've done, and you are missing a real gem! Just finished the Willzyx episode and it reminded me of another similar rescue episode. Season 6; Episode 4 - Fun with Veal. This time Stan is the empathetic one, and Cartman is quite the antagonist.
6:56 - There's also a Polish documentary film here on UA-cam called "Tylko nie mów nikomu" (eng. "Tell No One") about the heinous deeds the Polish Catholic Church priests did to children and how it was swept under the rug by the Church authorities and even the families of the victims. It's a pretty darn heavy documentary and it caused quite a stir in the entire Polish community. There's a version with subtitles for those that are interested.
The only reaction channel worth watching in my opinion. Perfect example of quality over quantity. As a fan of South Park since the very beginning, i love your work sir. 🍻
