Mine came in with a draggy blade and the axis lock sucked bad. I was kind of bummed. Did a clean n lube, bent the springs in a bit and it is an awesome knife now. Except for that awful looking red micarta or G10. Gimme some denim micarta or some CF.
Just got mine. N690 not a super but a well balanced steel. Well worth 100. First, thing going to change washer to Benchmade grip. The bigger will smooth up action.
Yeah mines definitely a little stiff. I definitely prefer N690 over D2 lol
I like it. I have a few two sun knives. I think they do i good job about 80% of the time. Thanks man.
Yeah they don't do prototypes so it's either a hit or miss no in between 😂
@tooladdictdillon9559 when they are on, they are on. Thanks for the look, man.
Good looking piece. Does it hold up to spine tap? 👍🏻
Of those TwoSun Cross bars you got, which one is your fav?
Idk there all basically the sane design but it would probably be the 429
Good looking piece. Does it hold to spine tap? Had the 328, one light tap and it would fold. Thx!
I don't whack my knives
Generally n690 is less edge retention than 14c28n. Most do a lower temp temper heat treat between 58 and 60rc give or take. A higher heat temper can be used with this steel because of the niobium, but its not often done in folders, a higher temper would allow some burning of the edge without hurting it as bad. Also might precipitate some small c@rb!d$, but probably nothing noticeable.
Cultrotech has used n690 at a very high hardness and was cutting around the same as 60rc China m390, which is poor performance for m390. So it can be good.
Not sure how consistent, but real steel gets n690 to around 60rc. Not sure what twosun does. They dont often do that good in any steel they use other than 14c28n.
I wouldn't pay 1 hundo for a twosun in n690. But it is better than China d2. Not as good as 14c28n. So maybe 60 to 75.
Do you own any Chinese knives?
@@Knifeaddictdillon yeah, including a few Twosun.
It's now way that's red g10 on that knife
Are you eric snow on Instagram? I'll send you some pictures
It could be red paper micarta. Kizer has used it on a few of their knives. Feels more like G10, but still classified as micarta.
@gside98 you are 100% correct. It's richlite aka paper micarta. I have the WMK exclusive towser k in brown richlite. It feels like a hard plastic. I guess they go heavy on the resin where they're working with paper. I'd much rather have canvas or burlap micarta.
@gside98 yeah I'd agree with that. Probably is richlite.
