  • Hey Guys! With COVID-19 going on I realized current seniors in highschool may want to look more into Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ to help make a decision! I am a rising 3/4 Computer Science major and I was the student speaker at Stevens Accepted Students Day last year. Comment any questions you have and I will try and answer! (or dm me on insta: @aparajitarr) Good Luck! (Edit: sorry the audios kinda wack and the editing is a strong mediocre lol I just wanted to get this out asap)

    Why is Stevens still charging full on campus tuition. She mentions several times that Stevens is an expensive school. Everything is online today and might be in the future. They should lower the tuition cost. All of the benefits she mentions for being on campus is no longer there. So why pay for it?

    • @LifeOfRanaa

      Name Definitely a good point, and important to consider! For what it’s worth, Stevens has been offering lots of various online experiences and workshops. Student-Staff Ratio also remains, we have live classes, etc.

    Hey! I'm a prospective Computer Science major looking into Stevens. Can you go more in depth about their computer science program? I'm from New York so the out of state tuition costs would be high, but how are the co-op and internship opportunity programs there, specifically for CS? I'm trying to calculate how much debt I would be incurring versus the amount of debt I can pay off while in college and also finding a job after college that would pay off the debt.

      Hey! I’d reccomend looking at the CS course catalog. If you have specific questions lmk or I can make a video :) as for coop honestly mostly engineers do it but from my internship experience you can expect to make $20-$40 an hour.

    I am a seton hall student who never wants to take another humanities class again. I know that computer science is the place for me but Comp Sci at seton hall sucks. Looking at stevens for a transfer but it would delay my graduation.

    • @LifeOfRanaa
      @LifeOfRanaa  3 роки тому

      Espically now because of COVID I wouldn't worry too much about what a delayed graduation looks like! That being said, I'd argue with a major like CS projects matter most so don't worry too too much about school.

    Hi! this video was much needed you truly seem so sweet!! question, I want to major in bio possibly pre-med track and I really am looking for the tight knit community but it is an institute of tech and ik the school is known for more engineering and such... would you still recommend I go?

      Hey! Aww thank you so much :) I have a couple friends that are pre-med and still go to Stevens. I don't think it should stop you if you are sold on all the other aspects. If I was in your place I'd probably just consider cost mostly since you might be pre-med and have a while to go!

    Heyyy!! Is it the that in order to major in computer science, you HAVE to take pre calculus and calculus?? what classes did you take in high school? did you have any honor/ap classes?

    • @LifeOfRanaa
      @LifeOfRanaa  4 роки тому

      foreva temilio Hi!! So you will have to take MA121, MA122, MA123 and MA124 as a CS major if you don’t have AP Calc credit. I took calc in HS but I didn’t take the AP so I went through all those classes at Stevens. Each of them are 1/2 semester classes so you’ll be taking 121 and 122 within one semester. I took all honors classes and these APs: AP Computer Science, AP Computer Science Principles, APUSH, AP Lang, APUSH, AP Lit, and AP American Gov. Most of what I could use gave me credit for electives but I didn’t take the AP test for all those classes.

(Btw I didn't do too well, I got a 1260) I really want to go to Stevens so I am not sure if sending my scores will help or hurt my application. What would you suggest? Or anyone can help, whoever has an idea in the comment section.

      @LifeOfRanaa  3 роки тому +1

      Hey! I'm honestly not sure how SAT scores work w these COVID times, if your grades show better maybe just stick with that and not submitting your SATs. That being said if you have a really good math SAT and it was just the reading/writing bringing it down that is also fine imo :) Good Luck!
