    Thank you sir, I am 63 years old and by no means handy with wrenches. However, I bought an old 2001 Ford F-150 with a bad heater core. Didn't need to spend the money it would cost to have it fixed. Followed your instructions and to my own amazement, I accuatually did it and only had one bolt left over I don't know where it goes. I think I can get by without it! LOL. Thank you so much, your insructions were so easy to follow. God bless!

      I am so confused I just replaced mine on a 2000 F150 and didn't remove 80% of the things this video shows. I accessed everything by removing the glove box, didn't remove air bag, trim, dash, wiring harness, steering column , none of it. Took about 2 hours with hand tools I did cut the hard tubes to eliminate trying to get the clips off of the hoses at the firewall, (great tip) but don't understand all of the extra steps.

I have no heat I’m truck only cold ac would this mean the heater core was likely leaking and they bypassed the hoses?

    • @brosolution
      @brosolution  3 роки тому +3

      Great question!!.. yes that exactly what happen when the heater core leaks and you don't wanna fix it or you just don't have the money to do it,that would be the next option by passed the lines so the coolant won't go into the heater core and you won't loose coolant....99% of the time the heater core is bad..I mean you can connect the lines back just to verify if is leaking or not...actually one time I fix a car the came like that with the bypass and I connect the lines back in and there was no leak so you should try first before changing it let me know how it goes men

    Long story short, my 99 F150 XLT went to a bad mechanic that stole parts off of it. He was not supposed to do anything to the HVAC system but he did something to it. At any blower speed there is hardly any air coming out of the vents in the dash or defroster. The floor vents blow good. I took the radio HVAC trim cover off and can see the door that switches between dash vents and defroster move. The door below that one which is operated by the actuator just above the SRS module is one I cannot see to check if it is working. I took the passenger trim by the windshield off to examine the recirculate actuator. It is supposed to switch between outside air and recirculate between ac and max ac but I see no movement of the door. My mechanic says my evaporator is clogged. I doubt this. I did the job in your video during December 2020 and cleaned the evaporator when I changed the heater core and blend door. Do you have any tips or common causes for poor air flow other than clogged evaporator? Also, the vacuum sounds I hear when operating the HVAC controls are less loud than before now. I have no idea what was tampered with or stolen and replaced with a broken part in the HVAC system.

    • @brosolution
      @brosolution  2 роки тому

      I sorry you had a bad experience with this mecanic...hey but the problem on you ac is a vacuum line there's I small vacuum lim from the engine to inside of the cabin check that one and check behind the ac control make sure the vacuum connection is good

    • @texan176
      @texan176 2 роки тому

      @@brosolution Thanks for the reply. I did not find any problems with the vac lines so I removed the blower motor to try and see the evaporator with a mirror. When I did this I found that the door that switches from fresh air to recirculate has broken and fallen on top of the opening for the blower. I need to unbolt the whole HVAC system housing from the firewall and interior to change the top portion where the recirculate flap is located. Ford does not make this part anymore so I will have to buy a used one. This is bad because the plastic gets old and breaks. I wish Dorman made a door for this like they do for the blend door with the metal pivot point.

    They took to much things off, it don't have to be taken off. I took it all apart myself.. just lower the steering wheel and not take it off.

      So I have a 2000 f150 so on driver side I can just lower steering wheel to lowest point and pull dash out enough to remove and replace core

    They don't make anything easy to get to do they🙄. I have to do this cause my heater coil is pouring out coolant while I'm driving. A pressure test verified that for me. At least it wasn't leaking into the engine.

      @@brosolution I live in Kentucky so it gets what they call "cold" here lol. Sometimes down to 10°F. I've been living here for 10 years now and it's only got what I consider cold at -11°F once. I did 2 pressure test at the coolant reservoir one at 16psi and it just poured out. And another at 5psi and it was a slow stream leading up to the heater core area. This weekend I'm going to get to the heater core and do another test just to be sure that's exactly where it's coming from before I buy a new one just to find out that wasn't the problem.

      @@keithhill8735 oh I see in your case is a must having heatercore...yeah make sure that's your leak usually if smell coolant inside the cabin for sure is the heatercore or if u see coolant coming from the A.C drain hole by the firewall wall..dude if you have to do it keep in mind the is gonna take around 12 hours if this is your first dash it may take little longer..me I like to take everything out in half of day and take break to work on something else so i dont stress out on one jobs because too much pressure makes you forget staff sometimes.and the next day I just concentrate in putting everything back together ...hey text me if you get stuck on something while you take out the dash

    So basically.. throw your car away and get a new one if your core goes out. JFC. What a B to get to. My goodness. These manufactures are so dumb.
    I watched it all the way through, thought it was detailed and great video. But JFC, I'd rather buy a USB Fan heater and a Seat warmer than ever deal with this type of work for an amateur like myself. You:1 hour. Me:at-least 6 hour job. Not hx
