i have a 496 mag and an alarm sounds when the engine goes over 3000 rpm there is a seperate alarm connected on the rpm gauge got any clues why this is?
Thank you for your inquiry @billdakill321. When trying to determine if an engine has been submerged, a physical inspection is often more productive than using the diagnostic tool. This tool can certainly shed more light on the specific faults occurring in the engine but if the electrical components are compromised, it wont be much help. We recommend having a Mercruiser Technician inspect the engine for signs of being submerged. If something is missed, it can cost you a lot more money to fix down the road.
yeah, more optimum combustion etc. On the other hand, a crescent wrench and a couple of screw drivers vs. different sensors, scanners, software, computers, laptops etc. I`d stay with the junk
